One of my fav song...noone will be able to sing as Etta ...but Nikki has the soul and repsect on highest level...just be haopy and liste her amazing voice and nature inspired by Etta! Thanks Nikki
She's not afraid to take on new genres, and she always does so at the highest calibre of performance. I've never heard Nikki do a blues before, this is really good. : ) And being the class act she is, she prefaces her performance by paying honest tribute to Etta James.
Bought her "NIKKI" Cd by chance. It was her choice of material and musicians that first impressed me . Very courageous singing new arrangements of songs already sung by so many greats in the past. With courage, such talent, she will somebody whose will make us happy for a long time. Just so annoyed with myself that I missed Montreux and Quincy last year.
We have a complete package, here, folks. this is just the beginning of a true artist just now making her way into the hearts of millions of followers worldwide. It is just about to explode into the mainstream!
saw her live about five years ago and knew she was the real deal. now Quincy Jones exec. produced her latest album and is her co-manager. I stopped following her for awhile but wow...I've listened to some of the album and she has found her niche. Just ordered it from amazon...Little Secret. Amazing talent and drop dead gorgeous. I'm falling in love with her all over again.

i'm glad etta james is getting respect from the young up n coming ladies! this was pretty cool. i also really like trixie whitley's take on this song : )

I’d Rather Go Blind. Something told me it was over When I saw you and her talking Something deep down in my soul said, cry girl When I saw you and that girl, walking arround I would rather, I would rather go blind boy Than to see you, walk away from me child, and all So you see, I love you so much That I don't want to watch you leave me baby Most of all, I just don't, I just don't want to be free no uh uh I was just, I was just, I was just sitting here thinking Of your kisses and your warm embrace, yeah When the reflection in the glass that I held to my lips now baby (yeah, yeah) Revealed the tears that was on my face, yeah And baby, baby (baby, baby, bay) I would rather be blind boy Than to see you walk away, see you walk away from me, yeah Baby, baby, baby (baby, baby, bay) I'd rather be blind now (baby, baby, bay)
She has got me hooked on jazz.I am truly jealous of her range and ability to bring out that voice when she sings because when she talks you would have never known that comes out of her. too bad she isn't black because she would have played Sparkle extremely well.
Technically brilliant in vocal ability. I'd like to hear her sing this song in 10 years. I can guarantee singing the blues will be much better then. Nice job however.
Well ... nice tribute to Etta James ... she is good , got the pipes, the voice but not the depth ... in any event very promising and definitely a good singer.
too much embellishments in her voice ... the melody is the most beautiful thing one can sing, it gets distorted when the singer adds so many other things
She is a good singer, but honestly in this performance she is not very good in the high notes. She has the vocals and the range, but in some parts it sounds like she is screaming and it becomes unpleasant for the ears, so it is not nice for listening. She still has to learn lot of things, but there are many other songs that she sings great, where she knows how to control her voice. And for sure she is the next jazz diva:) All in it's own time.
Still to this day this remains as my absolute favorite performance I've ever seen, or heard Nikki do - absolutely fantastic!!!

+MrAndersonterry Not sure the 'mainstream' has the taste or the sensitivity to really appreciate how good she is. :) Hope I'm wrong
Just a matter of time

So funny that when she speaks on this video she sounds like a young girl, but when she sings, her voice is so mature.
Thank you so much for this terrific share‼️ Very much appreciated‼️ :-)
I actually love her, what amazing vocals

классно поёт :)
Well ... nice tribute to Etta James ... she is good , got the pipes, the voice but not the depth ... in any event very promising and definitely a good singer.
She sounds very similar to Eva Avila from Canada! I love her voice though! :)
waooooooooow.
is she related to zalman yanovsky from the lovinspoonful?
Quit or you'll go blind. I'd rather go blind.
Esperanza Spalding yo!
To be honest, she looks better then she sings this song! I love her Lullaby of Birdland!
She doesn't go off.
Mais qu'est-ce que ils attendent, les organisateurs de Marciac, pour programmer enfin cette chanteuse qui sort du planplan du show business ????
I didn't find it :(
EGGGSACTLY@ She shits on all of them. Especially because it's authentic.
She dont have the blues in her just yet! Too young to feel it. In a couple of years, maybe.
+bebac79 What the fuck are you talking about LOL
How about now?
truth..... and the music is waaaaay to quiet .......
Have alook at this and let me know what you think. th-cam.com/video/pK8mMXQb3_I/w-d-xo.html
she take any song of Janis Joplin?
sounds 18 to me.
Fck.its too hot to me
BTW....dat guys daughter dont think he wrote dat
You missed a few...
two of them are Canadians. haha...
too much embellishments in her voice ... the melody is the most beautiful thing one can sing, it gets distorted when the singer adds so many other things
Moi, ça me touche
tryhard
her pitching is rumbling.....

No.
