Love your channel! Since looking for a touring/cruiser last month, I've been watching your channel after I decided on getting a road King. But, on 12/19/16 I fell in love with with the Indian Chief Vintage... and took her home! It's a 2015... 👍🏽🏍😎
Hi Shawn, Just want ya to know, this video here made my decision to buy the Dark Horse. Had it almost 2 years now. Thanks for all your videos. Happy Easter!
That whole blacked out look is fantastically cool. I have to be honest and say I'm not really a big fan of the big old Indian's with all the large coverings and mud guards. The Scout is the Indian I've really fallen in love with though, now those things are beautiful! That thing is so quiet though. I thought they would be really aggressive sounding. Coop vid mate.
Rob Ash I'm with you, not a fan of the honkin' big wheel covers, but the rest of the bike is right on the money. The Scout is my next favorite from Indian.
Yes, the fenders should have been redesigned and I think it would make the fantastic looking bike even better. Better run Fat Boy. And I'm a Harley Davidson owner and fan. Ride safe.
Nice! I've been looking every night waiting for a demo on the dark horse. Thanks so much for doing that! Would love to see it out on the highway opened up and flyin!! Thanks again!
Damn that thunderstroke sounds nice. Really nice bikes. Very happy to see cruise becoming more and more common on cheaper bikes, it's a god-send to me. Can't wait to ride one of these new indians..
I love my dark horse. I got the performance air cleaner and the stage one exhaust on mine. Handles like a dream and tons of power. Glad I went indian instead of Harley!
Hay! Thats so Cool all in Black! Love it Man! The sound of that seems so smooth not to Loud.so how does it compare to harley davidsons? I guess man you are never going to say! This is only the Start of the indians.i think now.we have.them just in the UK.ive not seen one yet on the Roads! I think its going tobe some time till then! Thats was interesting Shawn, thanks for takeing us along.
That little ridge on the headlamp is for sighting up the pedestrians. You missed that bugger because you didn't line him up correctly, better luck next time.
Shawn Smoak ok, now i need to set up a test ride and make my way down to tucson just to try one of theses out first hand. my buddy owns a mv agusta brutale 800 and likes to brag about it, now i'm talking about getting a dark horse and i think hes scared i'm going to blow the fairings off his bike. lol
+Miyu A Fox Brutale 120hp and weighs 210kilograms and the chief 80hp and weighs 350kilograms think about it. I don't think your friend will be too worried.
She's a beauty and mixes style right with the Iron and the King....might be a good addition... You'd have a perfectly rounded stable of awesome bikes! Lol
Best looking of the new Indians I have seen yet! My next favorite would be the Scout. Our dealer has been here a year already and I've had the chance to get close to some of these bikes. I'm not a fan of the honkin' wheel covers, but these bikes are extremely well finished! My first time seeing the Dark Horse is here and, wow! From the sounds of it, a possible Road King or Iron 883 trade-in may be in the works for you B-)
Such a gorgeous motorcycle. One hitch tho. Those black plastic switch plates to let you know [ for ever ] that you do not have a heat option as well as saddle bag locks.. now THAT would suck. Tcrs
Hi there brother nice review..do you think its a good beginners bike for someone who has never ridden a motorcycle before and I am about to take my msf motorcycle course
this has been a while shawn ! so has any more thoughts on the metallic click ? the chieftain with the hard saddlebags , man that is one nice looking ride , with both end curves , off the back side above the exhaust pipes !
okay that is a weird coincidence.. the video is 11:31 long and I started watching it at 11:31pm What a job.. but then you put in a ton of hours. Still, you get to do some cool stuff. I'd never have any money if I worked somewhere like that. It was bad enough when I worked at Walmart and worked in toys while they still had models and model supplies.. I bought 16 of them and most of the House Of Kolor paint range (wish I had bought more now that they don't make it anymore, the only spray paint I've ever been able to use and not run it to hell)
That is an absolutely beautiful motorcycle. I love the blacked out look. She has a nice deep sound especially for stock exhaust. What is your opinion about floorboards. You commented on them and the size. I am considering putting floorboards on my V Star. Opinion? Time to ask Kelly for an Indian motorcycle, of pick up a second demo lol. Any idea the price on the Dark Horse model?
Just curious. Now that the dealership is selling Indians is there going to be some sort of factory tech school in your future? With your fondness of sportsters I am really interested to see what you think about the scout once you have had a chance to take one out. As always, thanks for the ride!
I live in south Texas would you recommend this bike for my climate (upper 90's) without an oil cooler? And how did you feel about not having a fuel gauge?
LILPAPASMURF97 - If you have any concerns with the two omissions, they are available as accessory add-on's. Due to the solo nature of this bike, and to meet the awesome price point of this bike, I believe they felt they were not necessary in it's stock trim. The LCD fuel gauge that is there is actually easier to read... Thanks for watching!
+Tibet Bukan Tibet, once you are old enough to get your license and a job, recommend you take a look at the any of the bikes with 300cc or less. That is a great start point for a street legal bike.
What's with all the "Japanese this and Japanese that" remarks in the video? Is everything that's not the Harley way Japanese? Do you have separate right and left turn signal stalks on each side of the steering wheel in your car or truck? Do the Japanese have the design rights to every style kickstand design that isn't the Harley lock style? Just because it's different than Harley doesn't make it "Japanese". Open your mind.
Thanx for the share.
It sounded and looked really good. I liked the little fin on the head lamp too 😀

I am happy that I purchased the Dark Horse. 48 thousand recalls on the 2014-2015 Harley Davidson. Mine included
Way cool looking bike! The head light looks like a giant version of your head light on your iron with the cowl on it you have!
Hi Shawn,
Just want ya to know, this video here made my decision to buy the Dark Horse. Had it almost 2 years now. Thanks for all your videos. Happy Easter!
That's awesome! What an incredible bike these are... Thanks for watching!

I love the big fenders. You will too in the rain.
You should do a First Ride of a 2016 Indian Chief Classic! That bike looks cool in the pearl white paint
I love my dark horse. I got the performance air cleaner and the stage one exhaust on mine. Handles like a dream and tons of power. Glad I went indian instead of Harley!
Nice job man. I love the fact I can hear the engine in your review. You made up my mind, this or the scout, I chose the Dark Horse... Thanks Shawn!

That's so funny, I hope I have the bad luck to miss the buggers
Walrus60 - Lol... I'm a terrible aim, I guess. I'll do better next time... :)
Thanks man!

and does it include all American parts
holywar911
Looks like a really nice bike. Love the color. People just won't stay out of your way. Thanks for the test ride along.
Has a super nice thump to the exhaust, even as stock and through your mic!
She's a beauty and mixes style right with the Iron and the King....might be a good addition...
You'd have a perfectly rounded stable of awesome bikes! Lol
Tmps is on the chieftain, wait till it's run in & they really go good! My classic gives me a serious big grin!
barebones2004 - The Dark Horse and Scout are the only models missing the TPMS's. That's what we're hearing, they only get better with run-in... :)
Thanks Shawn.
Do you know if they are getting any scouts in mate?
I think you will like them even more than the DH.
Dang dude. I just rode the 2015 Indian Scout and now they already have the 2016 models out??
Love that dark horse sweet ride.
Best looking of the new Indians I have seen yet! My next favorite would be the Scout. Our dealer has been here a year already and I've had the chance to get close to some of these bikes. I'm not a fan of the honkin' wheel covers, but these bikes are extremely well finished!

I ride a Dyna Wide Glide which I love but I gotta say this bike looks badass.
Such a gorgeous motorcycle. One hitch tho. Those black plastic switch plates to let you know [ for ever ] that you do not have a heat option as well as saddle bag locks.. now THAT would suck. Tcrs
The motor sounds great. I heard you ask about ABS and cruise but I didnt hear the answer, did it come with both?
Gerry Austin - Yes, it comes standard with both.
Thanks Gerry!
That's cool dude, We're getting an indian motorcycle dealership sometime this year in Mexico City that's exciting

Can you get passenger (pillon) seat on it too?
Looks very nice
okay that is a weird coincidence.. the video is 11:31 long and I started watching it at 11:31pm

Shawn Smoak Great review, was this stock exhaust?
Just curious. Now that the dealership is selling Indians is there going to be some sort of factory tech school in your future? With your fondness of sportsters I am really interested to see what you think about the scout once you have had a chance to take one out. As always, thanks for the ride!
I live in south Texas would you recommend this bike for my climate (upper 90's) without an oil cooler? And how did you feel about not having a fuel gauge?
Fit the oil cooler that's an accessory & no worries about the heat,I live in west oz & have had no probs! Same goes fuel gauge
LILPAPASMURF97 - If you have any concerns with the two omissions, they are available as accessory add-on's. ***** - It's available as an accessory option...
Thanks for watching!
Thanks everybody! I'll be looking forward to riding this sexy bike soon enough. BTW how much does the oil cooler run?

Would love to a compairison between the Dark Horse and a Harley Fatboy.
If i could afford it that would be my bike!
Is it me or does the front wheel seem a bit small?
Valve tapping, think that was bad you should hear my old TRIUMPH.
Very Beautiful.
I'm dripping saliva on my keyboard.
Am I the only one wondering what the problem was with the bike the man at the end was asking about?!
Très belle !
It's looking so nicee but I'm just 15 :)
+Tibet Bukan Tibet, once you are old enough to get your license and a job, recommend you take a look at the any of the bikes with 300cc or less. That is a great start point for a street legal bike.
