To anyone claiming this is a Victory or Polaris knock off, do your research. Become educated. It is neither of those. From the trim to the power plant, it is all Indian. New parts, new pieces, a tribute design. It's gorgeous. Get in line to own one or shut up.
hey speez, just wanted to mention that hd does offer an esp, up to 7 years (and 2 yr factory). and they have had the keyless ignition system with fob since 2007. still, i'm looking forward to seeing how polaris/indian does in the market.
(part 2) I don't think anyone else offers that. I find some of the new features unique such as the key-less ignition system. I'm just curious if that's something that enough buyers are going to want. Criticisms aside, I think Polaris is onto something good. I don't know if this will be a hit on par with that of the first Ford Mustang or the 1955 Chevy, but it definitely has potential! I hope that the ergonomics and reliability will be good.
That may be (and IMO should be) the next product to be developed. Know that it may take awhile for this to happen (give it about two years). Indian needs to prove themselves with the Chief first; then they can work on bigger and better things.
I love the bike, but I really don't like the amount of chrome. The original one had a good blend of aluminium and chrome... you probably guessed by now that I'm good a big fan of chrome... nickel plating, polished aluminium, yes that I like, but chrome, not that much! I guess it's cultural, european generally avoid chrome and north americans can't get enough of it. Being an american motorcycle, there's chrome everywhere. Nevertheless, it's good to see Indian come back to life... :)
Get rid of the fancy "do-dads" (keyless entry, extra chrome, etc), and I will think about it. Basic bike without the "inovative electronics", and let me customize it myself.
Once upon a time Indian built fast racing bikes. These things are just Harley-wannabe tugboats. If you guys build a V-twin sportbike along the lines of a Ducati, let me know.
No, because indigenous North Americans are known legally as Native Americans. The word Indian describes the inhabitants of an Asian sub-continent and as a word it is neither slang nor derogatory. Red-Skin would be thought of as a derogatory term when describing a Native American. Signed Bill C "I did not have sex with that woman... ML " legal dept IMC.
@1:49 "This all new proprietary engine..." Good luck getting parts for that. Ha ha! I love the idea of Indan, I don't love their track record. I'd never buy the cycle. I rode with a girl who had a yellow Scout and her transmission sounded like knives and forks were rattling around in a garbage disposal.
Arthur the 111 is bulletproof. It is now 2019 and their has only been 2 documented catastrophic engine failures out of the thousands of bikes sold. Mine came with a 5 year Warranty which I used 2 times. 44,500 miles and feels and sounds better than ever.
Who do I have to meet to get a job testing motorcycles? No boss I ever met said Here's a new motorcycle, I need you to go put 1/2 million miles on it. And they call 1.5 kids and a wife in the suburbs the American dream. I'm clearly being left out. Indian (Polaris) pay me to ride a motorcycle around the country. I'll be to work on time everyday without fail.
Oh well..there goes Harley's tourer sales....Indian have destroyed Harley with features and value for money as well as reliability, technology and heritage.
POLARIS ..please just buy the rights to build the 1000 cc VOXAN french motorcycle engine ..and then you'll have a true modern classic..your 2014 Indian is a bit big and heavy..the 1948 indians were lithe and sporty looking at least
Just one question! So, buy a Victory huh? Because you DON'T want a Polaris?? Well, genius...Victory IS Polaris. Hardley has blind and ignorant fans who care less that their "American Made" bike has an obscene amount of Japanese and foreign parts content. You have blinders on to reality.
Y’all need to bring this back for another run. I promise we’ll all buy them lol
Woohoo heyaaayaaayaa. Finally. There back! Touring anybody? Thanks for coming back to us! Can't be denied! INDIAN
I think they have hit it on the nail with these, finally a Indian Motorcycle! Time to say there back for good.
I miss my 2014 Indian Chief Classic, may i get to afford another one soon.

That was a fun week of filming those videos!
I would 100% choose this over the Harley deluxe.

That torque is awesome...pull a boat trailer.
If I could afford a bike this would be it
If I come into some extra cash soon I am definitely getting one... Beauty
You just may get your wish! Just give it time!
I went back to dream......
Wow! A whole ONE YEAR Warranty. So...which bike are you buying next year after this goes tits up? I'd recommend Honda or Suzuki.

I hear you brother. The gingerbread is simply gay.

I AGREE
one of indian's first customers will be harley. they are going to strip this bike down and use the technology here for their 2015 motorcycles.

i can turn this into a total brute of a muscle bike, it has excellent bones. shits on Harley.
Can you say AMF??
Build a SCOUT and I might just trade in my SuperGlide.......
Sure, that'll work.
The French are as about as adept at making motorcycles as they are at winning World Wars...
And also shows some things wrong with the "Hog Riders" in the process. I'm no liberal, but this is 2013, time to grow up.
quiero que me regalen una indian o les tiro una maldicion y les fundo la fabrica se ira a la ruina
not if they are advertising it as the true AMERICAN motorcycle hahaha.
Too much talk and not enough letting us hear what it sounds like.
Volta classic

Kevin Vance i like Harley’s cause of their look and sound. I could care less if they’re made elsewhere
119? Lol
Buy a Victory, they're cheaper. If I want a Polaris I'll buy a quad. Indian couldn't stay in buisness. Harley could. Any questions?
