    I totally forgot to edit the clip in where I mention it, but this is a farm that is influenced by the qwerkyness of java redstone directionality and locationality. If you build this farm and it doesn't work, rotate it 90 degrees. If it still doesn't work, move over a chunk (F3+G) and try again. Build just the observer system detecting the bamboo to see if it will work in the orientation or chunk you want.
    Edit: No, this does not work on bedrock

    • @PotatoSofi
      @PotatoSofi หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Basically: build it with the bamboo facing towards west and if it doesn't work is because your chunk was cursed by the redstone fairy and you need to move out and try again.

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It's not locked to west tho which is weird. One chunk it might have to face west, but another would have to face south.

    • @FedoraMcQuaid
      @FedoraMcQuaid หลายเดือนก่อน

      trick for me was moving a chunk away and then Observer facing North and Piston facing east, frustrating as I was trying to add this onto an existing system and i cant really move it a chunk away. Anything I can watch that explains wtf is happening here?

    • @FedoraMcQuaid
      @FedoraMcQuaid หลายเดือนก่อน

      also the bone block system doesnt quite work right as the bonemeal doesnt spend enough time in the 2nd chest to trigger a redstone signal from the comparator. I put the boneblock crafter pointing straight into the bonemeal chest and powered with dust from the torch and that works great

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure if anyone's made a video dedicated to explaining this, but from what I've gathered from others in the community, it basically boils down to what get prioritized in the update order in any given chunk. In this case it basically only works facing one direction, but that direction depends on the chunk

    This also eats through bonemeal like nobody's business.
    So connecting the bonemeal input to a very high efficiency bonemeal farm is recommended. Or a shulker input with a bunch of shulkers filled with bone blocks.

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can set up a comparator to detect when the DC of bone blocks is empty to auto shutoff the farm :)

    • @TheRealYeller

      Also you don't HAVE to have the nonstackables, I just use those to save a bit bonemeal from never getting used

    Gods I hope they don't patch this to act more like bedrock. Anyways, this is a really great farm. I remember back in the day when 0-ticking sand was the best thing for cactus. I wish I could use this farm in tandem with it. I was playing on a server that allowed "broken redstone tricks" that let you dupe items, but you had to build a way to make it cost something instead of nothing. So I made a tree farm and burned charcoal to "power" it with a comparator. It cost me something that cost me nothing, which was technically allowed lol.

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We can sleep pretty sound at night knowing that Mojang will never change these mechanics of the game. The Java redstone community would be up in arms if they changed it this late into the game.

    That's all good and all, but since it requires bonemeal - wouldn't it be easy to simply use 1 piston, 1 observer and an auto clicker to apply the bonemeal at light speed?

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes. But how well would your idea work with a witch hut based FULL auto crafting factory... and there nothing saying you can't just use one slice of this farm, just showing off at fast it cam be without player interactin :)

    Do you run this while a bonemeal farm is running? Can the moss bonemeal farm keep up and transport to this farm fast enough?

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It would be no small bonemeal farm, but yes you can make one that keeps up. This farm was designed around an industrial district that already has a mass bonemeal production. If bonemeal requirements are too much, you can reduce the bamboo slices

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And ideally it would only activate a bonemral farm when a stockpile of bone blocks are low

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No sugar cane cannot be bonemealed. And a sugar cane farm can be done MUCH simpler by just observing the bottom piece of sugar cane with an observer

  • @minlrgo
    @minlrgo หลายเดือนก่อน

    ok but you also have to attach a big bonemeal farm to it (it use 5 time more bonemeal than a traditional wood farm for same amount of wood)

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just like you would any other fast tree farm. Dont forget your getting this wood faster than a traditional tree farm in a MUCH smaller package

      @@TheRealYeller i'm talking about a 75k / hour farm that is also easy to build

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      And I'm sure that farm is also much bigger and involves many more pistons... Take some context clues, this farm never focused on being more efficient than a traditional wood farm since bonemeal is so easy to get. The point of this farm is to have a fast source of wood that doesn't take up much space. You'd be using this farm in an industrial area where you'd likely already have a massive bone meal production already. Another point is that this is essentially a custom speed wood farm that can be scaled however you see fit. Go set up a traditional wood farm for a fully automatic crafting factory and tell me how that works

      That's what I mentioned in the pinned comment. This is affected by directionally and locationality. Some places it just won't work. However, if the experimental redstone changes keep getting worked on, it may fix this farm without you having to do anything other than update 😀

    How much bone meal (or bone blocks) does it consume per hour ?

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Quite a lot. You're gonna want to pair this with an ilmango or rays works moss farm. Definitely more than 9k bone blocks

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Keep in mind, too, that you can build this anywhere between 1 slice and the full 9 slices, depending on your needs. One or 2 slices would more than likely be able to keep up with a smelter array, and would require MUCH less bonemeal input :)
      Edit: Ran the test again, and if you're wanting to build the full 9 slices, you're gonna want to provide about 3 DCs of Bone BLOCKS... Yikes. IG thats the DBL edge sword of crazy rates XD

    The build is cool but I don't like it, I think that if one is using bonemeal, a more simple farm with a single bamboo is enough, the casual people will be building this but won't have enough bonemeal or use that much planks.

    • @TheRealYeller
      @TheRealYeller  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This video is certainly showcasing an extreme use-case, but you can still build this with only one slice and its still faster (and slightly more efficient on bonemeal) than other designs. The magic is in the **buggy** detection method lol.
