EVA Trihorn on 0.8 PSI of Boost 🌪 3D Printed Compressor 2-Stage Prototype Preview | Shorts

Development continues on the 3D Printed Regenerative Compressor prototype, with upgrades to put a compressor on that compressor because I heard you like compressors! Here's a sneak peek at how it performs on an actual cooling duct. Splashy!
This design already beats out the vast majority of 3D printed compressor attempts in terms of "building boost without exploding", but performance is only half the battle -- can we make boost without screaming for it? The original version didn't manage it, but I kept pushing, starting by chasing even lower-RPM boost by stacking a second stage on the one I'd already built. I also updated the impeller with a new design that can be tuned and balanced. Between the lower RPMs and a new intake silencer, the only remaining source of obnoxious noise is my crappy low-frequency PWM motor driver (salvaged cordless drill) -- hopefully it'll be an easy fix to just run it off my printer's MKS MOSFET fan driver like I was planning to anyway!
I am planning a more comprehensive design overview (covering subjects like "what on earth is a regenerative compressor, anyway?") and test result video in the near future, but I'm too excited not to post more snippets (shoot me) 😆
