That launch on the rs3 had me wondering if the merc was in reverse
Those C63s are very quick but it's the 4x4 and tech that gets it off to a flying start. Think about the c63 - there's even less rubber on the ground to get it off to a good start with wheel spin.

But in the real world away from the keyboard the rs3 has the perfect balance of sutble style, great noise, power and traction that for a daily driver on real roads is pretty tough to beat.
Traction is everything.
I have my own prefl rs3 running on e85 for around 520hp, its a rocket and a hell of a lot of fun

Adam B Well it will be AWD at least so if it has the power and aggressive launch control it might have a chance but those RS3's are pretty dam impressive.
The new A45 (Predator) is still going to be a 4pot but I think its going to have the same 48v electric system as announced on the new E53 last week. Its going to have to be special to beat the RS3... Im sure it will have more HP but the 4matic needs an uplift too (which it obviously will) cant wait to see what happens.

On the street the C63 would not have a chance. Unitronic stage 1 Rs3 is about 505 hp 498 lbs on 2018 model. Audi 5 cyl is magic.
So, you're saying less power than the one shown. Them racing on an old dragway is the same as on the street. In the wet, no RWD car is going to have much chance against an AWD. In the dry, on some Toyo Proxes or other good street drag tire, the C63 will lose on the launch, but overtake pretty quickly. I've seen tune only C63's with more RWHP than the one in this vid. There's no magic.

Pipi Fun their equal rs6 litte faster but e63 4 matic or s63 will play cat and mouse with it over 200 km. Rs6 0-300 km is 62.5 sec e63 splus 4matic 0-300 45.5 sec. 18 sec gap over 200 km

No, he was saying even s3 would beat it. Agreed from a standing start but not a rolling start. Have an rs3 and s3, the rs3 is a lot quicker. S3 is same spec as the golf r, golf r has slightly better handling but the s3 is slightly quicker accelerating and has a better interior.

The c63s is only rearwheel drive, so on a wet track (like tested) the rs3 clearly has the advantage with its Quattro system.
A run on dry tarmac would lead to more comparable results, since both driving systems would work as intended by the engineers.
The fact that they are both tuned makes it a lot less interesting...

Think it's pretty stupid now that in reality. These entry level Audis, Mercs etc are able to challenge the more premium models in the ranges. You're talking about facelift A45s and RS3's pushing over 400 bhp. It's ridiculous. Where is the room for improvement further up?

The most important thing: The tuned C63 has despite its capacity advantage of the 4L V8 with 580 hp (!) Even when rolling start no chance to RS 3 decisively drive away !! He never wins a standing start anyway! not even if it is dry & even when pulling through it is a nose tip in advance but that's it .... All in all, no fame for Mercedes. Just imagine in front of the RS3 would be decent tuned! not as in the video -> correct software, proper exhaust system then easily 500Ps + on. There is almost no "4door commercial car" which is up to 250km / h faster than such an "visually boring" RS3 - the thing is just an everyday ground floor rocket. Just look at the times at about 3.3s at 100km / h & ~ 10.5s from 0-200km / h. These are dimensions that were not even driven by Supersport cars until a few years ago.
RS3 Stock= faster than 95%
RS3 remapped = Killer Car
Impractical in the real world. ARCHIE. (Don't have a runway at the end of my close)

Darrel Thompson . Welcome to the real world. If you want to test in labatory conditions the C63 would win. People dont drive in labs or perfect tracks. They drive on greasy, uneven roads. If you want bragging rights and wrapping yourself around a pole, go for the C63.

I ended up with gla45 yellow night .3 sec behind the Audi so I needed to put something to help it got front diff lock fitted by AMG now it's a cornering beast at least

Well I never would have guessed the awd car with less power would have got the better start but the more powerful car then won. Cor blimey.
So the Mercedes was completely uncompetitive from a standing start (clear case of too much power) and only just kept up from a rolling start in anything other than perfect conditions.
I got rid of my 2016 C43 Coupe due to terrible “crabbing” (clanging / knocking noises from from tyres on full lock that would also make the car literally skip 2-3 inches sideways on tight turns) plus awful juddery and jumping wipers (both faults well documented on the web and particularly TH-cam); I changed to a 2017 Audi S5 Coupe which is MUCH better built, prettier (Merc has such an ugly bloated rear end) and has a better engine and exhaust note (AMG Performance Exhaust on my C43 sounded much harsher).
stevealexR1 - I did exactly the same. C43 Coupe on a 66 plate. Mercedes said it wasn't a fault it was a characteristic of the car LOL. Their solution was to fit all weather tyres but I told them to shove it and I traded it in for an F-Type R Coupe! It's so nice to be able to pull out of a parking space and not worry about skipping in to the car next to me.
I think the only issue you guys had was a suspension setup...if merc said it was a characteristic of the car, you could of try'd a different suspension setup & tires.
The 5 cylinder puts down power so much smoother than any V8

You cant drive the c63 archie, you need to warm the tires up first and you need the right type of tires, you see on the second rolling start you beat him with a big gap because the tires are warm, you need the know that.

tommy4862 you’re underestimating what savages remapped RS3’s are. The facelift RS3’s are kicking out 480bhp at stage 1 and are lighter. The C63 here would have serious trouble with one of those!
RS3 also weight about 250kg less.
I mean maybe he said it somewhere in the middle but these videos make no sense at all honestly. It would be better to compare stock cars only.

Agreed, but from a rolling start in the dry (6.16) the supposedly tuned C63 should gap the rs3 massivley. Another fake video like the C63s vs m4
Trouble is the C63 will break traction even under rolling conditions when you boot it, so either the traction control kicks in and kills power or if the driver has it switched off, then tail kicks out and or it spins it tyres. All the while the traction of the RS3 exploits all its power and subsequently requires less power and torque to get away. Eventually the Merc will reel the RS3 in the higher speed range but in real world conditions across country the RS3 will win. Its why both Merc and BMW with the E63s and M5 have acceded to the Audi engineering philosophy that if you want to exploit all that modern engine Torque and Power AWD is the only way to go. Sideways is spectacular and fun in some conditions but how many owners haver the pockets to continually smoke and ruin 800quid a boot tyres on track days. You cannot do the sideways stuff on UK and EU highways so you will be continually trying to control breakaway or else allow the overbearing traction control in the Merc to kill your power. I know which one I'd rather be in either as a driver or passenger. If I buy something with 400hp I want to be able to exploit that grunt 100% of the time which is what the RS3 gives you.

Hi, I can see the appeal of the C63 AMG.....it's a great car...depends where you are in the World too and how far you're driving regularly....for me driving across Europe from the UK on long distance trips - there's no way I'd go for an AMG C63 or an RS4 - the sweatspot of the Audi range was the Audi S4 Avant when I bought mine....and I can defintely keep up with AMGs on the autobahn.
...also if you're in the UK where the weather's not's always good....then Quattro is king

I absolutely love amgs and have owned a few, but I just can’t deny how amazing the rs3 is, I drove my buddies S3 and even that could keep up with a 2019 M5, these things are crazy fast
