Such a fun drag race episode. The cars are interesting ones, but the banter was epic. Rory played Matt and then Sam’s various gloating techniques were absolutely hilarious. 😂
It was obvious that the AMG could not compete with the AWD cars from a standstill. But the way it performed in the rolling races was just impressive. That’s a car that’s approaching 8 years of age. What a car.
I'll be honest. Merc can just plonk that old M177 into the new W206 chassis, called it a day, and it would still be able to give M3 Competition a bloody nose, AND kept AMG fans happy. But no, they just have to prove that the AMG ONE hybrid system can be used in a 'normal' car.

Ofc it will win against an awd car in a rolling race. Power loss is bigger. If you compare the amg with the rwd M3, the BMW will be faster. Still a great car the amg.
Can you next do a drag race of all the entry level, standard equivalents of these cars? Would be interesting to see even if it was a bit of a slower race.
the m3 estate is an absolute BEAST but holy shit man that c63 v8 just cant be beaten here. Absolutely PHENOMENAL engine. Had a buddy that had a c63s sedan that i had the pleasure of driving quite alot and man that thing was MAD. The sound from that engine is what AMG should be about. Last great c63 we'll ever see.
there is no replacement for displacement. rolling race is where the 6liter amg engine starts to live. both the audi & the bmw have way more down torque and less top end. but the m3 is by far the most beautifull

I enjoyed this more than most Carwow videos. It wasn’t telegraphed (Mat driving the fastest car…nearly all the time). And all 3 of you guys genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and being very competitive with each other too!

I have an AMG C63 as my daily driver and its supremely refined and comfortable and is a very practical car. Now at 60k miles and been totally reliable. I have driven the Audi RS and just found it less comfortable. Great video, good to see the W205 still delivers.

That’s been the beauty of the RS4 for time. The new 6 is horrible because it tried way too hard in the styling department and looks like a Halfords special. As a C7 RS6 owner that has test driven several B9 RS4’s as well, these two models are bang on. The G8x M cars are utterly eye bleeding to behold, give me an E92 or W204 all day long. The W205 I like too but the successor’s engine will kill the brand for sure

Considering the Audi is theoretically putting 360ps to the road, the BMW 408ps and the Mercedes are putting down 433ps. The Audi did very well. The RS4 is my favourite car ever, even if it loses. But, I absolutely love the sound of the C63s and I would drive that M3 Touring any time. All three, absolutely crazy wagon. I wonder what the end result would look like if the they worked on a car together.

@@G80M3C C63 has more torque, less drivetrain losses and weighs less than the BMW. The RWD only M3/4 probably beats it, but not the X drive.
