I prefer black waxed to fit the drone reeds and even to fit drones in the bagpipes stocks. And to fit the Bass and tenors joints I use a mix of yellow waxed and non waxed. Thanks for your videos.
I've often seen the need to use a Halls HB 34 tapered hand reamer to clean up or make same seats not done well by the maker or others in between. This hand held twist reamer us the same as used by many big name pipe makers. It only takes a few twists to 'fix' unequal or poorly done seats. It's available in USA for ~$35.
A tapered tap threaded into the stock also helps and makes it easy to tune the reed by turning it clockwise or counter-clockwise.
