The bridle is a very delecate piece on a drone reed. If you even see the bridle move, you've moved it too much. If your drone reeds are playing too easy, move the bridle so move air flow can pass through, but not too much so they cut out as your blowing may be too powerful for the bridle location. Hope I helped.

Hello Stephen, i have a set of DN2s and i wanted to find some good drones reeds to balance with my g1 platinum reed in my Naill BW Chanter with ivory sole. i have a set of kinnaird evolutions, henderson harmonic carbon fibre reeds, and henderson cane reeds. i wanted to get a set of ezeedrones. i loved the sound of the drones in the video of the DN2s with BW mounts. i was hoping to achieve that sound i tried a set of ezeedrones but they where my instructer's from 5+ years ago and havent been played since. right now i have a combo of henderson tenors and kinnaird bass. i sounds good but not excatly what im looking for. which reeds would you recomend for a set of naills. this is my solo set so i wanted to get the best sound possible. thank you and help/advice would be greatfully appreciated.

mrkashihigashi Ezeedrone is a very nice choice. He also recommends Canning reeds, which have tenors comparable to EzeeDrone, but the bass has a carbon fiber tongue, giving it its own voice.

What if I have a carbon fiber tongue reed that has a very strong buzz coming off of it? I have a Murray Henderson Deluxe and out of the box the bass has this really intense buzz over the bass sound. They are brand new and I've never broken in a set of drone reeds before but I was given the impression that wouldn't be the case with these?

Yuri Carbon fiber definitely produces a more robust sound that can take some getting used to, and it is more prone to buzzing or roaring. You might try nudging the bridle down to make the reed a bit more efficient, testing small adjustments until the buzzing subsides. Occasionally, a particular reed type and the dimensions of a drone don't work that well together, but there is a good degree of universality with modern reeds and pipes. We haven't worked with these reeds, specifically, but feel free to give us a call if you want help with the adjustment. (1-800-931-5010)
