    I like how you described movement as a way of "strengthening" and "weakening" you and your opponent. I hadn't thought about it that way!

    The rhythm of the walking tip is massive. This made me realize how scared I am to even walk forward

  • @jpVari
    @jpVari ปีที่แล้ว +1

    movement is the exact thing I need to work on right now. I'm playing jp and some folks let me zone them but some people read my rhythm really fast and they're in... it feels like 'I can't do anything' but I know that's not true, and I realized I don't move around much, and almost never forward. even the teleport option I rarely touch because I hate to give them a hit if my forward movement gets checked. but that is missing the importance beyond that single interaction. giving away so many of my options is something good players realize instantly and they rip it apart.
    thanks for these as always. it's helped me improve so much over the last couple of years. hoping to hit masters, for whatever it's worth, and when I can I play at locals and it's nice to win here and there. The community around these games is just incredible.

    Coming back to comment after a few hours in ranked. This is an extremely insightful way of looking at the game. I'll rewatch this tomorrow to better digest everything, but "getting comfortable walking forward" is such good advice. It's like a part of me knows these concepts already, but you presenting it in diagram and in-game is helping me become aware of how I do these things. Thanks for this!

    Ayooo, this video is sick. I can take this and apply to multiple games.
    My goal is take a rushdown type of character and play them slow/passive, almost to the point of being too defensive, but still be able to cause people to panick because they know all i need is 1-2 touches. Kinda like smugs dudley, or tominagas makoto.

    Fantastic video. For real.
    One question for anybody, a bit off topic. I’m from NRS games, this is my first SF. I play ken and am having a lot of problems with DPs from crouch.
    If I’m moving around and try to DP, I often get accidental super or fireball. I think this happens because I’m not fully in neutral prior to DP. So I need to DP from crouch more I assume but the input is just so odd to go from crouch to the normal DP motion.
    Is there a shortcut for this? I use a regular Ps4 pad.
    Thanks for any advice and keep it up !

    • @Zaferino1
      @Zaferino1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are correct they all are. The point here is to learn that under the canvas of SF6. The foundation is the same, but the house looks different on the surface. (Each title with its own unique engine)

    • @actuallynotsteve
      @actuallynotsteve ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Zaferino1 Good point, yeah. It's both a universal thing and something that has different focuses depending on the engine, damn you put that well.
      I love SF6 so much, it's the first fighting game I've ever grinded at home and wanted to get good at. Not sure why, but the feeling I get when somebody just reads my soul and counter-DIs me multiple times in a match, it's inspiring. It hurts, for sure, as I can tell they knew I was gonna do it in that spot, but the design of that move + the hitstun/graffiti, it really drives home the RPS concept.

    Bomb beats rock and paper, but scissors cut the fuse.
