      I came to say that.
      I feel bad, but I’ve refused to give money to some who I know for sure are spending it on drugs, but they ask for 10/20 bucks!
      Bit cheeky.
      But I don’t mind buying my favourite a beer, kind of hypocritical I guess.
      🤔 I shall ponder.

      It really is hard not to judge. To be honest my first thought seeing this guy was drug addict. The thing is though, even if that is true that doesn't negate the fact that he deserves help.

      Thank you for this kind and compassionate take. Judgemental people usually have no idea what they would do or how they would cope with being in dire circumstances. I was able to quit drinking 29 years ago because a little boys parents were alcoholic drug addicts. He's been my son ever since. But I was fortunate because not everyone can do that. The only reason I was able to do that was because that baby needed one person in his life to take care of him and somehow I was chosen.

    As a recovering addict myself, I would say that they need rehab first. They don't have a chance in hell at keeping it together unless they tackle that first and continue with a psychiatrist and counselor.

    • @DefferJohn
      @DefferJohn 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      Yeah, because they can really afford a psychiatrist and a counselor? I'm a recovering addict myself and I would agree with the first part. They need to get clean before they even have a little chance. But I think Nate just wants to help them to get by for a day or two. Not being a counselor is one of them. I hope you keep going and that you always will have the drive and motivation to stay clean. 😃🙏🏼

      Rehab is their choice not yours. You should know that and their personal issues should not be a reason not to help. They are human they deserve help regardless. BTW I'm a recovering heroin addict of 25 yrs, its never someone else's place to say when they should go they have to be ready and have the will to stop.

    • @kanthony65
      @kanthony65 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

      @@road66runner3Actually, it is someone else's place to say when they need help if they are bringing an innocent child into this world. That child needs an advocate. It's a completely different situation when it's just them. The child didn't choose to be born to drug addicted parents. Gynecological care and birth control are available for free in every State in the US. It's a shame people don't have the foresight to use it. I hope they get the help they so desperately need.

    • @garywilliams9971
      @garywilliams9971 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      I would agree with you that 90% of people with addiction need rehab. It’s a small 10% of people like myself who can quit on their own, but it is very rare.

    • @melissadingee3941
      @melissadingee3941 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Unfortunately they both have to want and be ready to become clean and enter and complete a FULL rehabilitation. If they both are not ready and want to become clean and enter a rehab then follow through with after care, state will help them with pyschiatrist and counselor they won't make it. Unfortunately if only 1 of them wanted and did the full process it would be a struggle for the one to not relapse. But in rehab they teach people you can't succeed if your partner isn't going to get clean as well. Some people actually have succeed as they have to watch their partner continue to spiral down.

My fam and i were blindsided when we found out the home we rented was up for auction (1wk from when we found out) bc the landlord wasn't paying HIS bills. That sent us into a hotel,all our stuff went in a storage unit.....i thoght we would find a place within a wk but the hotel drained our $, and we ended up in there for a couple YEARS. My hubby worked every day to ensure we stayed but we lost EVERYTHING in the storage. Just couldn't pay . It was devastating. We FINALLY found a house to rent and have been here for 1 year & 4 months. Still trying to get things like furniture, lights etc. but we have the basics. Then hubby got sick in December & was hospitalized so we no are struggling with rent. 1 month behind but trying to catch up! So many ppl are struggling now 😓

      But what could they possibly be faking?
      That they need a place to stay? That they're hungry? What benefit would they get from lying?
      They were obviously needing help.
      And I'm of the mindset that if you wanna help someone, if you want to give them somethkng, buy them someting, feed them, or give them money, it doesn't matter what they use it for.
      I mean, even of they trade that good for drugs, that's what they ndecided they "needed".
      I mean, what good is it for someone to pay my phone bill when it's already paid? If my electricity needs paid, and someone wants to help but they say, "Oh I wanna help but I'm only gonna pay your phone bill - not your electricity bill."...
      Then what good does that do me?
      But hey, maybe you don't understand addiction. There was a time when I didn't understand it either. I thought it could NEVER happen to me!
      25 years old, great career, 3 bdrm house with 4 acres, vehicles, 3 kids and a Husband... Took some prescription medicine - that I had taken 7 times previouslyin my life... next thing I knew, I was buying "refills" from a friend...
      Then, when they ran out, I resorted to buying stronger stuff from my cousin (because that's all I could find).
      Then that dried up and I had to find something just so I could function...
      So again, I resorted to buying even STRONGER stuff from someone because that's all that I could find.
      I wasn't even looking for stronger stuff. I just couldn't find the "light" stuff anymore. And as I said, I had to have something.
      When I finally realized I had to quit, I spent 37 days puking, shaking, pooping my pants, feeling like I was going to JUMP out of my own skin.
      Ig was impossible to breathe, walk, eat, drink... even peeing was hard to do because my entire body was so cramped up.
      And the worst part was the full body Restlessness.
      Have you ever had restless leg syndrome? Where your legs jerk a little just when you're about to fall asleep?
      Well imagine that, multiply it times 45 Billion, its all over your body, you can't hold your arms, legs, fingers, face, chest, stomach, back, or anything else still. Amd the harder you try, the worse it gets.
      There is no sleep.
      There is no comfort.
      You do not get even a BLINK of respite from this for weeks!
      If you sleep, then it must be mini- micro sleeps because you don't know it
      You're so exhausted but you cannot rest.
      You cannot pick your head up, but you cannot stop wiggling, jerking, moving...
      The physical withdrawals are relentless.
      And that's just the ohysical part.
      If you had the worst flu of your life (which cannot be compared to withdrawals, I don't care what they say), and someone offered you a pill that would make it all go away within 15 seconds, would you take it?
      Of course you would!
      Now imagine how miserable withdrawals are. And remember there is a pill that will IMMEDIATELY stop that physical misery and pain. It will not only stop the misrty but it will give you rest, energy, happiness, and euphoria!!!
      Many times I chose drugs over food.
      Because if I had to choose between losing a couple of pounds versus losing 30lbs, 4 + weeks of no sleep and misery, I would choose to go without food every time.
      Don't forget, that "easy Button" (the magic fix - it - all pill) will take away the hunger, too.
      And if I have absolutely zero to live for anymore, why does it matter? After all, I'm not hurting anyone but myself.
      So.... why would it matter if you wanted to help them? If you give them $20, they may go buy drugs...
      But that may be the last day they ever live anyway. So why not? What would it hurt?
      Who are you to decide what someone else thinks they need when they ask for help?
      Don't forget, it's a myth that only alcohol and benzoyl withdrawals can kill you.
      Any withdrawal can kill you.
      Any of them.
