Hard for me to say that, having had family that became violent with their addiction and burned bridges with all their friends and most family, however it is an illness and those with addiction in their family (not immediate) are 50% more likely to have that disease.
It's so hard for some of us to receive help.. To say what we want because we've been beat down emotionally and verbally.. May God Bless him and see people do want to help and want nothing in return but a hug or a hand shake.. Your the best Knate ❤️☝️🙏

God only knows how much further down the line they are, with it beaten into you mentally and physically that you're not worthy of being helped. The amount of times he's likely been offered something and they've taken the piss or hurt him is a shocking fact that shouldn't exist. But, then neither should homeless people in a country that tells everyone how great and free and powerful they are. Keep it up Knate, you do great work.

That is me now unfortunately. Life has a way of making things you thought impossible a year ago possible.I was at home with a cold beer and a show on Tv. then within a few weeks , i was out on the street sick and broke. The kindness of strangers has kept me from giving up completely and taking a dark path. I will make it back to normal one way or another.

Heard an older lady on YT talking about grabbing a buy one get one breakfast sandwich, & when she came out there was unhoused person, she offered a sandwich bc she didn’t have any money on her… everyone started commenting how considerate she is, & she said “I try to offer something, no matter how little it might be. Can you imagine what kind of world we’d have if everyone would just offer a little kindness to those in need?”.

One thing I’ve learned from Nate is this homeless problem is never ending. You inspire me to give away some 20 dollar bills every time I get cash and I bring the grand kids to help me pick ‘em out. Now they see a homeless person, and hell grandma what about that lady over there with her cart.
