Doesn't O have an antigen called H antigen? Although O does not have a gene to encode an enzyme unlike A and B, there would still be an immunodominant sugar which is first received on the RBC site called Glucose-Galactose-N-acetylglucosamine-galactose-L-fucose... right?
Not necessarily. H antigen is just the precursors for A and B. Its possible you can make H antigen but no genes to produce A and B. Or no H and no A and B, in which case everything is still fine.
Please 🙏🥺 answered me why no complications in ABO system during tocus..? But has complications in RH system during tocus in second pregnancy Please 😭😭😭😭
i have a card saying my blood is not often met with.... It is A, it says if my blood is used for transfusion it should be regarded as positive but if i need a transfusion i need negative because it lacks in the D antigen. that was 63 years ago so is my blood more common now
can solve this question؟ 🙏 Blood group antigens (agglutinogens) are: A. Carried on the haemoglobin molecule. B. Beta globulins. C. Not present in fetal blood. D. Inherited as recessive Mendelian characteristics. False They are Mendelian dominants. Choose the correct answer
According to one theory: during embryology, your body contained antibodies against almost everything in existence…Then, the antibodies directed against your own cells developed anergy and negative selection.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis That's really interesting. I wonder what would happen if we didn't evolve a blood typing system. Would've been a relief for blood banks I guess.

the antibodies for A and B are Ig M type which are bigger in size so unable to cross placenta. While Anti D antibody is Ig G type which is smaller in size so easily cross placenta. thats why there is rh incompatibility when mother is negative and baby is positive but there will be no ABO incompatibility.

Hi
First want to thanks million for making nephrology series esp nephrotic syndrome but want to request kindly make video on lupus nephritis too
Have you watched my video, titled: “diffuse proliferative Glomerulonephritis”?!
Where is the H antigen at? 😮
Hey Medicosis, Do you know how our bodies can make antibodies against either A or B without prior exposure?
According to one theory: during embryology, your body contained antibodies against almost everything in existence…Then, the antibodies directed against your own cells developed anergy and negative selection.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis That's really interesting. I wonder what would happen if we didn't evolve a blood typing system. Would've been a relief for blood banks I guess.
Can anyone please help explain why a Rh-positive mom and Rh-negative baby does not cause an issue?
Because the Rh-negative baby doesn’t have an antigen for the mother to attack.
During pregnancy if foetal blood goes to the mother's circulation, it will not produce antibody .
Do u have uploaded video for Antibody Panel Identification topic? Because it's hard to understand. Haha.
So could you be AB+ but rh negative?!
No you could be either AB+..+ means rh +....you can either rh + or -ve not both
Conventionally, the plus sign will mean Rh+. But I get what you mean, yes a person with AB blood can be RH negative.
Is there a rare blood group outside of the ABO?
Yes…a lot of them!
Duffy, Kell, Kidd, Lewis, Lutharen, and many more!
more than 30 blood group systems are there.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis what is the reason of this difference in humans is it gene mutation?
