Summerlin is a master-planned community in the Las Vegas Valley of Southern Nevada. It lies at the edge of the Spring Mountains and Red Rock Canyon to the west; it is partly within the official city limits of Las Vegas and partly within unincorporated Clark County. This rapidly growing community occupies over 22,500 acres and according to its developers, "has grown to encompass more than 230 parks, more than two dozen public and private schools, 14 houses of worship, nine golf courses, three resort hotels, recreational facilities, retail and entertainment centers, well-established office parks, a medical center, and more."
The community is divided into three associations (North, South, and West), which oversee two dozen commercial and residential villages.
Summerlin was named after Jean Amelia Summerlin, the grandmother of billionaire land-developer Howard Hughes. The Howard Hughes Corporation maintains ownership of the master-planned community, along with Downtown Summerlin (the community's premier shopping, dining, and entertainment district) and the Las Vegas Ballpark (home of the Las Vegas Aviators minor league baseball team).

Wow. I live a mile south of what is being called the Summerlin of the north. Hope Tule Springs will become half of what Summerlin is.

I have not yet heard of a definite place where the new high school will be located.
Which will be 55+?
As of now, none of these communities are age restricted of 55+.

@@achesontrading427 There is also Trilogy by Shea Homes and Regency by Toll Brothers in Summerlin South.
A bunch of ugly tract homes all smashed together-----this is accepted as modern architecture/neighborhoods. All the same greedy developers in on the grift.
What city are you comparing these homes to? It's obvious that you have not been to Summerlin, otherwise you would understand how beautiful the area is. I was born and raised in Hawai'i and I can tell you that these homes here are much better looking than the homes on Hawai'i...
@@AlanHuiRealty Henderson has dozens of the wretched tract home neighborhoods and it looks as if north Summerlin is starting to build those as well. Most people don't care and the developers know this so they keep building them.
@@ViceSociety Many master-planned communities will have tract homes. They aren't as ugly as you claim. If you truly take a closer look at these neighborhoods, you will see some of these "tract" homes are way better looking.
