    First and foremost - thanks so much, Emily, for being a beacon of fun and light in a world fun of challenges! I really like how you always have the laugh, & and how you're always smiling an joking around, but at the same time, I really appreciate how make such a huge effort to share with us your approaches in these really substantial and rich educational videos!
    I currently have a Boss RC-3 pedal (and a violin with pick-up), and much of my music today is made out of using it for songs that have a simple backing of a few layers, and also an overdubbing of an extra few extra layers for the song's chorus. However, naturally, a problem arises with particular songs when its structure isn't compatible with this simple verse / chorus format, and/or when the song has bridges. This makes it unnatural for me to perform, as the RC-3 only allows me to have a bass track of a few layers, and then reclaim a few extra layers of overdubbing.
    I'm strongly considering upgrading to the RC-600 in an attempt to overcome this issue - in your experience of using it, does the RC-600 do a good job at navigating through bridges and difficult song structures well enough?
    Thanks very much for any ponters / advice / sharing of your ideas with me :)
    ..And best wishes to you from Ireland (I noticed your wearing of a Claddagh ring on the index finger ;) )

    • @EmilyMcVicker
      @EmilyMcVicker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh friend! Your show sound so awesome do you have any videos I can see??
      I feel you. Ya, the one track looper can be hard to build a whole show. I bet you’d be a good candidate for the 600. It takes a while to get used to. And with such a dynamic pedal, the trick is still keeping it simple I think. My biggest complaint is the firmware. All the new firmware‘s have sucked for me (I don’t know if it is my particular youth case) but I’m hopeful that one fine day they will fix the firmware to be solid for everyone.
      The 600 has such a great sound quality. But if you would like a simpler pedal, the 300 is also great. Much simpler to get into. So I’d recommend either pedal 😜👍

      @@EmilyMcVicker Thanks for taking the time to share those pointers Emily - you're a champion. I just discovered you a few days ago, and I'm thoroughly enjoying watching all your videos!
      Sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately, I don't have anything published online I'm afraid - I'm more of a modest / low-key performer at present, but the idea of broadening-out would excite me, especially when I'm seeing what you can do with your kit and talent!
      A Canadian TH-camr named Bryson Andres was the very first big inspiration for me to buy the RC-3, and I did, and I haven't looked back since :) Sadly, he's taken a little bit of a break from music, so it made my discovery of your channel all the more of a welcome surprise!
      Best wishes with all of your work and music, Emily, and thanks again :D

    Hi Emily, thanks for this, really enjoy everything you are doing with the looper and your videos. Big New fan here :) I just purchased an RC 600 (4 days ago), based on this song and some of the other songs I have watched you play, generally speaking, what are your TRACK and SYSTEM set ups? , What do you have your Tracks (1, 2, 3) (REC, PLAY) settings to as far as quantize, Loop Sync, AUTO....I know this is a big question and there are a lot of parameters... but this is the part I am having some challenges with for looping with the new RC 600. I want it to be as close to the 300 as possible to make the switching easier. Firmware is updated. Do you have a template for track and system settings for the RC 600 that you would share by chance? I generally prefer the multi setting as opposed to single track mode; I see that many loopers are using the single (6 Tracks on MODE 1) but this is not something I want to try right yet. Once again, thanks for all of your videos and your talent.

      Hey friend! Just getting to this comment now. So nice to hear from you! I have a video going over how I initially set line up. I do rec>dub>play. I turned quantize *on*. And I left all my tracks set to *free*. I moved my a few of my switches around to prioritize ease and accessibility 👍

    • @EmilyMcVicker
      @EmilyMcVicker  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! ya the bad reviews are troubling. I love this thing and how it sounds, but problems seem to be mostly in the firmware. I think that's where the bugs are. which is new to most of us becuase the old pedal was much simpler. i have faith that the firmware will continue to improve, but if you're unsure, theres no harm in waiting for them to get it right.

    • @MeanMaoriMean555
      @MeanMaoriMean555 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Firmware bugs seem to be a thing with any type of hardware including modellers. I have a bug with my Ampero 2 at the moment. But I see most companies do fix them eventually with updates. The technology is still really enjoyable though. It outweighs the bugs in my opinion.

    • @EmilyMcVicker
      @EmilyMcVicker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you might be right. i'm hoping they get the firmware stuff ironed out so it can be more reliable. this machine can do a lot, but you kind of have to pick and chose what will serve your music, cuz there's too much to use all the features.

    Hello, I've been watching your videos for a long time and I've been listening carefully...
    If you were to rate the overall performance of the device out of 10 points, how many points would you give?

    • @EmilyMcVicker
      @EmilyMcVicker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yikes… hard to rate the overall experience. I wanna say 7. I love the sound quality and the compactness of it. But the firmware and glitches have made it very frustrating and cumbersome to deal with it. Looping has to be very consistent or it ruins the illusion. But I guess I’m sticking with it still because once they iron out those things, it will be super rad.

    Hello everyone,
    I came here specifically to warn every one to stay away from this looper. The RC-600 is a buggy mess and is not nearly ready for a gigging musician. I have been embarrassed by this Looper Pedal when it crashes or randomly changes tempo while I'm performing in front of a crowd. I feel betrayed by Boss as a company and I am pissed as hell that they would sell this when it is far from ready for release.
    I updated the firmware a couple times now, (currently running 1.2) and while some old bugs are fixed, brand new bugs are introduced. I paid about $700 for this piece of shit and I can't believe how often this looper has let me down/ humiliated me.
    This Looper has so many options, that by the time you realize its buggy and not you misunderstanding how to use it, it will be too late to return it. A bit FU to Boss and anyone who suggested I buy this looper.

    • @EmilyMcVicker
      @EmilyMcVicker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Not the first bad review I’ve heard. I’ve heard some success stories and a lot of different bad experiences. I just sent mine in to be replaced because some of its features weren’t working. But my new one works like the 1st one did out of the box.
      I’ve had really bad experiences with the firmware updates. But the original firmware works very smoothly for my particular use case so I’m not gonna update this one for a while.
      If you have one already, and you can’t return it, I just hope they come out with a firmware that fixes all the bugs. I wish it had been less buggy to start, but I hope it can still be fixed.
      Be well friend! Keep in touch ❤️
