Even though they are gone we all grew up with some of their bangers. So many people can all relate to thinking we just went through a divorce in elementary school after hearing hey their Delilah

Plain White T's are such an underappreciated band in my opinion. They were my first favorite band after seeing them on iCarly when I was 13. I think critics often underestimate their musical abilities in part because they also write cheesy love songs (which is a craft in and of itself). The thing that I think makes them truly special is their earnestness and optimism. They tend to sing about girls, love, divorce, and general life experiences, rather than big world problems and existential dread. They are usually much more straightforward rather than using metaphors (this can be both a good and a bad thing). In the end, they were a massive part in getting me into music and finding all of the wonderful acts that I love. Now, Tom has his own record label and primarily during the pandemic, he did virtual acoustic sets called "The Wednesday Club." There's some videos kicking around TH-cam and they have such a sweet community feel to them. He's also the drummer in a punk band called TLB and has a solo project called Million Miler. In general, the Plain White T's strike me as a bunch of sweet music nerds who love exploring all genres.

They’re a band that never pretended to be what they’re not. I always felt like they presented themselves as guys who like to make music and focused less on aesthetics or trends.

@@EternallyUncoolTrevor Exactly! I think that's what I love so much about them, but it might also be why they couldn't quite reach the same commercial heights as other acts.

I always saw plain white ts as a band that was a product of its era back in 06 at the height of their popularity their style of music was basically that pop sound of the time and they peaked at the right place right time if hey there Delilah came out today I don’t think it would have done as well

They’re very mid2000s but I like that about a lot of bands from that era

I love Wonders Of The Younger, and along with American Nights i think they're both the best work they've made so far. Tho American Nights is absolutely all over the place in terms of sound, im glad you mentioned that, it's a totally fair critique. I actually wasn't so big on their last album, but I agree, Fired Up was a really good single. Definitely hope they make more like that in the future.
Really nice video. Glad to see someone take a fair shot at Plain White T's

I never see anyone talk about them, which is crazy since they were pretty big! I loved making this video, so I’m glad you enjoyed it 🤘🏻
