The part with the berries was especially chilling. Was she thinking of Peeta? Remembering Foxface's death? Contemplating an end for herself, here and now? This feels like it could be after Mockingjay. It's so sad. And then at the very end, when she's wearing that amazing dress... I know I'm partial, but I have to imagine she's thinking of Cinna.

Katniss seems like the ocarina type, I feel like it’d work with either her or Rue, tho whistling is more convenient for her. My friend and I both learned the girls four note signal so that’s pretty fun too :D
I realize that this comment is old but I will answer anyways, as it might help you or someone else. I learned with the zelda double plastic ocarina. I would not recommend it for a beginner. Doubles are great and if you have musical background like I did then it should be fine if you plan on practicing a lot. But, if this is your first instrument or you won't be able to practice much, I would not recommend getting one. The reason being, you must switch chambers to get to to the last note on a single. so on a single chamber 12 hole you can play a scale by just lifting up your fingers. When using the double ocarina you must switch chambers before getting to the last note. However you do get an extended range on the double so if you plan on doing covers you may want to get a double. Some of my friends decided to buy an ocarina as well and they both got a plastic single chamber from STL. They are made by TNG and I would highly recommend them. Plastic ocarinas are great for beginners because if you drop one, it will still work properly. They are also very cheap and the TNG's sound great! Since they are cheap, if you find out that you don't like the ocarina, it didn't cost much so it's ok. Also DO NOT get a soprano! They are very high pitched and most likely will not work in a home situation. They also hurt your ears. I would recommend getting an alto. (Note- on STL ocarinas website, the alto's are written as tenor.) STL is a great way to go. Songbird also has good ocarinas too. They re sell focalinks. Sorry I'm advertising, I'm just telling about other brands. To sum things up, I would recommend getting a plastic 12 hole tenor/alto. Don't get a soprano.
