Hi everyone! In this video, I will be showcasing Castle Town, a new environment I've created using Unreal Engine 5.
This represents the culmination of four months of dedicated effort in parallel with my full-time job
Having previously focused on creating realistic environments, I decided to venture into something different this time.
As a passionate admirer of Studio Ghibli films, I drew inspiration from their aesthetic and
seamlessly incorporated it into the world of Zelda Ocarina of Time, paying homage to the game's 25th anniversary.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the project and whether you'd be interested in seeing more videos in this particular art style.

After four intense months, I'm excited to unveil my latest video commemorating the 25th anniversary of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! Originally conceived as a small, enjoyable project over the summer to take a break from the realistic videos I've created before that, I'm so happy with the final result. I attempted to blend the amazing aesthetics we see in Ghibli with the fantastic Zelda universe. What are your thoughts? Would you be interested in seeing more videos with this artistic direction? Would you like to see other locations? Let me know in the comments and thank you everyone for your amazing support!
#EDITS: I'm absolutely blown away by the amazing response to the video and I can't thank each and every one of you enough.
To everyone who watched, liked, commented, and shared the video - your enthusiasm has been contagious, and it means the world to me! I'm grateful for the love and positivity you've brought to this unexpected journey.
Thank you to all the new subscribers! Thank you for joining this growing community, and I'm excited to share more content and connect with all of you.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Nintendo for creating the incredible Zelda franchise. Over the years, it has inspired millions, including myself, with its rich storytelling, captivating characters, and unforgettable adventures. The magic of Zelda has touched our hearts, and I'm honored to be part of a community that cherishes this extraordinary gaming legacy.
Let's continue this amazing journey together! Your support motivates me to create more content and share more stories. Stay tuned for what's next, and once again, THANK YOU for making this moment so special. 🙏
Amazing work
Bro I hope Nintendo does their film like this ...this is some gourmet 👌
We would like you to release this as a game
@@emadwolf10 that would be awesome 👍
Muchas felicidades excelente trabajo espero que puedas seguir haciendo mas para este proyecto
incredible, we want a zelda movie like this nintendo, not a live action one
@@candycornshrimp Or they should cancel the creation of it and instead invest the money they were ready to invest in it to a professional team of animators who could make this become a reality. Everyone wants the animation. Not only is animation more fitting. But it's also a lot more timeless than a movie. a real life adoptation will be trash in 10 years where as an animation, _Real Animation, not the blender or other 3d animation software made ones. Real hand drawn animations!_ is timeless. Maybe not completely. But i can still watch cartoons from the 70's and be entertained. And i wasn't even born back then. But if someone puts on almost any movie made between 2010 and 2015 i'm bored because of irrelevant inclusions of apps and other product placements that isn't nostalgic, but just a major annoyance and ruining the movie. Then you have the camera quality vs the evolution of monitors and TV's. They never ad up. But animation can be retuned to what ever screen or monitor fits the times, easily. Even more easily when AI's become more consistant and reliant.
@gargoyled_drake so the Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction and Jaws are trash now?
WE WANT A GAME LIKE THIS ! Not just a movie !
Either or is fine.
@@Luciry123they don’t make movies like they used to, it possible it could be a classic but not guaranteed and let’s be honest do you think it will be?
I will never be able to express how much we all as TLOZ lovers appreciate and respect the hard work and effort you put in your content. I became teary eyed watching this, knowing a movie like this will probably never be a reality (especially considering the “live action” in the works), seeing someone bring our dreams to life means the world to me. Thank you for this. You’ve made so many people’s day today, tomorrow, and as long as it remains, forever with your content ❤️
Adding my voice to this. What an incredible gift and treat. I'm so grateful!! Just GORGEOUS work...

@@adambrydges1040 again we haven’t seen any thing people said the same thing about the Mario movie and look what happened it broke a billion dollar at the box office
I know it’s silly but this is probably the closest version that conveys to what it was like to play as a kid in the 90s. Back when it was on 64. What a beautiful thing you have created. There is a lot of love in this and it shows It pays homage to and honors the original while giving us something completely new. Bravo sir. Ngl I teared up watching it. 😅
Exactly! This hit the sweet spot of how it felt to play the game back at release. Full of wonder & excitement!
All you have to do is play the game to convey what it was like to play the game. It's still playable.
no might be the same game. but you forget what time can do. and the difrents in games back then to now.
like last year i have rewisitet Mario and luigi Partners in time. still a fucking good game. but a diffrent feeling

At first I was like "This would be very cool as a movie"... but then you started exploring with link's model, and now I NEED this game. Commendations
Damn, that was generous of you dude!

@@RwanLinkplease do it for the Nintendo Switch or do a Twilight Princess
@@WarrenGdog28 LOL! The Switch would catch on fire trying to play a game that looked this good.
This is what a Legend of Zelda movie should look like. This is an extremely good animation, especially in a four month time frame. Amazing work, keep it up!
Why movie? Why not game with Ghibli visuals?
@@mdjey2 They probably mean that the live action movie is a bad idea and it should have been animated one with this kind of visuals
@@EmilAhvenainen Oh, I see, yes definitely.
I see people that recreate Ocarina of Time in UE5 that go for a hyper-realistic look, which in my opinion, often looks terrible... However, this is a prime example of how art style is more important than overall realism. This is truly fantastic and your work is brilliant!
Happy 25th aniniversary TLOZ: OOT 🎉
Though I didn't have the opportunity to experience Ocarina on the N64 back then, finishing the game on 3DS was mind blowing.
@@emymainor4985I played it originally on 3DS in late 2011 but nowadays I prefer to play the original
Let us hope Nintendo doesn’t absolutely smother this guy legally and actually considers him for a job offer.
He has talent.
If a single person can do this on the side in four months imagine what an entire team could accomplish in a longer time frame. This is what I wish the Zelda movie would be
Nintendo should've funded you to make a Zelda movie instead of partnering with Hollywood. This is absolutely incredible!❤
I agree! I think a Studio Ghibli-style animation would have been more fitting than live action.
Totally agree
Agreed
No matter what gets made its not going to be as good as just watching Nausicaa & Mononoke back to back.
@@icyjiub2228 lol truth
Fi dancing around the master sword was such an amazing touch. It literally gave me chills.
My first game was Skyward Sword, so the Fi scene came out of nowhere and had me instantly tearing up
i cried cuz of that song@@bmxgu2361
@@bmxgu2361Same. Seeing Fi got me immediately.
Outstanding... You were able to capture and transmit the escence of the environments and characters, better than Nintendo unfortunaly. Such talent, art, design and efforts, deserves to be rewarded. Nintendo! Keep an eye on this!
Your recognition in both environments and characters means a lot. Your support fuels my passion, and I appreciate your encouragement! Let's hope for more exciting possibilities in the future. Thank you for your heartfelt appreciation!
Too bad that third person style couldn't be made into a patch to mod the Ocarina remake's textures and assets...or could it?
It even seems like they are prejudiced against people from North America, because almost I don't know, 80% of the studio is made up of Japanese people.
@@eltonreddoshitpost6592 they are a Japanese company what do you expect? Not only do you have to be extremely talented to work at Nintendo, you also have to be totally fluent in Japanese so you can communicate with your team, members.
@@e1622zelda and the sega
👏🏽 Bravo. The amount of money that Nintendo is leaving on the table is astounding. That company needs to get out of its own way and hire people like this. You need to make this fully playable if possible. Fantastic work. My hats off to you.
“Imagine this as a film and not as a game”
*Shows the best iteration a OoT could possibly have as a game”
Man, my eyes are in tears, splendid job, the nostalgia, the love, the appreciation, the details.
You deserve a job in Nintendo!
Thanks for this gift!
Yeah as soon as he started moving Link around, it became my favorite reimagining of OOT. A remake in this artstyle would be absolutely incredible.
I prefered the 3rd person view as if it were a game more than the intended short movie lol
I completely agree. At first I thought it was going to be a 360 view of Link's model, but then he started moving around and let's just say that I now NEED that game.
I love it they wear clothes like the 1910s
This is amazing! Thank you for this!! 😍😍
You know how as a child, you play these polygonal style games and your imagination fills in the environment? This is everything I imagined Castle Town to be and more. Thank you so much for this. This is an incredible work of art.
This is exactly what I felt with this, this is how I imagined TLOZ OOT looked like back in the days
I saw this on IGN, but wanted to come to the source and say thank you very much for this. Literally bought tears into my eyes. You are unbelievably talented.
This is beyond amazing. This is exactly how I'd want a Legend of Zelda movie to look like.. as well as the next major Zelda game to look!
I prefer 1 Million times this than any “realistic” demo out there. This has sooo much potential. As an OG fan I would love to see this completed.
Please Nintendo!!! This is hands down the best art style for a remake.
Nintendo would rather destroy a fan's work of art rather than embrace it 😢
@@MischieviousJirachi FR, i wonder how long until the nintendo ninjas arrive at his doorstep for daring to feel passionate towards their IP
Nah. This anime artstyle is overrated. Realistic artstyle look such more satisfying and fit these characters better.
This is the art style we deserved for the Zelda film. It's devastating hearing they're going live action and knowing that it won't feel nearly as magical as this does.
True. Live-action is a horrible idea for Zelda
This is a great effort for 1 guy but it very clearly has a bit of a stiff, mechanical feel that gives off a slightly creepy vibe. Again, teams of 20-30 people minimum are whqt it takes to make this stuff look perfect so this is mindvlowing with that considered but this could never be the movie or game. Especially Link is off
Hopefully, Nintendo will heard of this video, and maybe it can change their mind.
@@lucasroumengous1064It won’t lol
Nintendo doesn't want the film to be as good as possible, they want it to be as profitable as possible, even down to things like casting. Remember when they gave Chris Pratt the role of Mario? They don't care as long as it has a celebrity big name
I cannot describe how beautiful this is. Was not expecting to see Fi here, and her dance made me nearly teary-eyed.
Thank you so much for the incredible works, bringing happy memories to players of generations!
This was clearly made with so much love for the games it hurts my heart. Incredible!
This is incredibly special and I would 100% pay to watch this if it was a full movie
And Nintendo chose to make a live action.... What a wasted potential.
Yeah i would totally pay too ! But I won't be going to see the real movie
@@tristanribeiro7903did they?
@@tristanribeiro7903agreed how cool would it be for Nintendo to collaborate with studio ghbli the legend of Zelda movie I think it would be great but no they want to make it live action which could be good or bad it depends on
They need to make this in movie and Game on Nintendo Switch
RIP to the official animated feature ghibli film that we will never get.
This is beautiful work ❤️
Tbf that was an April fools joke
@@guyferrari8124 what was?
If you mean the movie it was announced last year like November that Nintendo is moving forward with an actual movie
This is absolutely outstanding! I really love how you combined these two styles and vibes both from the visual and the sound perspective.
The soundtrack and its arrangement are gorgeously done. It being constantly in the foreground gives me some Howl's Moving Castle vibes. Usually, Joe Hisaishi, the composer of most Ghibli scores, holds a bit more back and has some different compositional aproach but regarding Zelda's music style and the challenge of mixing these two different worlds of compositional technique this score turned out fantastic!
Thank you all who worked on this. Have a great day!
Best Zelda video I've ever seen!! Honestly, I enjoy watching realistic Zelda videos, mostly out of curiosity about how it would look and what it could achieve. But in terms of art, something like what you did in this video really works artistically and visually. Congratulations on giving us this incredible experience! It was magical to relive this game in this visual style. Ocarina of Time is the game of my life, and this video came closest to how the game lives in my imagination, in my nostalgic affection. Thank you for materializing this!
You’ve literally put your blood sweat and tears to drop this masterpiece, Nintendo should hire you asap 🙌🏾
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Nintendo is absolutely going to sue his pants off. Its not an if, its when
@@jonathansoko1085 this comment 💯
to hire? hahaha it's more possible that they will sue him, Nintendo hates their fans, Nintendo only loves money

I'm genuinely touched by your heartfelt response! It means a lot to know that my rendition brought joy and resonated with your cherished memories of playing Zelda. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience!
He's using ghibli name. He should remove it for potentially getting a lawsuit.
Love this stuff, I always appreciate someone who really pays attention to all the bits and pieces that make games works of art, especially the music. I loved the scoring for both Castle Town and the Lost Woods. Hope that more of this is released in the future

And now I'm tearing up at the end. This was the movie me and my best friends wanted to see when we were in high school, spending our allowance on expensive anime imports from Suncoast Video and playing Ocarina of Time until our cartridges melted. I gasped when I glimpsed Zelda, felt that flutter of panic when Ganondorf appeared... you've created the version of this game that all of us elder millennials have kindled in our hearts for two and a half decades. This is beautiful beyond measure, and such a loving tribute to a game that influenced us all so profoundly. Thank you for putting in the work!

5:57 Link tripping while running after Zelda is such a ghibli thing to include. Nice attention to details like that are what make this great.
No words could ever do justice, but I’ll try. This is stunning, my eyes and brain are in denial of what they’re seeing, it’s just that otherworldly. It honestly pains me to know that Nintendo’s movie won’t look like this, but it pains me even more to know that Nintendo’s movie probably won’t have the same passion and love put into it as this movie. The fact that you made it all by yourself in just four months, on top of a fully time job, is inspiring. I could only hope to create art like this one day. Thank you for making this, genuinely. Level 5 games would be a great pick, the Ni No Kuni games look just like this.
I really love the hidden details from prev Zelda games, that were put into!!
And how detailed the NPCs are, it shows much emotions and feels alive!
This is the most beautifull thing I’ve ever seen created by a zelda fan! Congrats bro!
This is absolutely beautiful, i truly am at a lost for words . in the last 15 years 2 times have i had tears in my eyes from pure joy and love . the day my son was born and watching this amazing magic . again i have no words to describe how beautiful this is.
When you started exploring the world in the engine, my mouth dropped and I was shaking my head from side to side the whole time. I was trying to wrap my head around every single thing you had to work on. All the gorgeous details - the textures, the background characters, the props - everything was so wonderful. I love that you can see Fi's shadow along with the master sword's before she even appears. I love the extra flare you added to the dancing lovers. I feel like the music caressed the cheek of my inner child. Everything was wonderful. Nintendo had better notice you!!! But even if they don't, the fans appreciate all of your work. So excited to see more!!!
Also, a Majora's Mask animation would be cool! You could explore the bittersweetness or creepiness that the game evokes so well.
I would die for a majoras mask version like this
I agree. Clock Town would be amazing in this style. Also the Great Bay and the pirates fort.
This is soooo amazing, how awesome would it be if Nintendo is watching this and give you a job at Nintendo. You made a masterpiece its like a dream!

I think they're more likely to sue him or give him a copyright strike than hire him.
@@Atrus999 Yes, but only because that's how the usually roll, but if by some struck of chance, they opened their eyes to the fact that movies are profitable, then maybe, just MAYBE that they could potentially hire or be inspired by this as for a Zelda series. This is truly amazing from the music to the view. I commend the effort you have put into the and the skill you have. It brings a smile to my face and brings back the memories I have of this game playing it as a kid and I used to complete it every year at Christmas up until recently. Thank you
I need about 12 gallons of water because my jaw is locked to the floor. I can't even begin to express how incredible this work is. There are entire studios that can't put out this quality of work. All of the assets look amazing and the music is amazing and just all of it is amazing. It really makes me want a movie and a remake of OOT in this style because it's just absurdly beautiful and timeless.
It’s amazing to see how you captured the 2D animation style in 3D perfectly with the lighting, texture, frame-rate, and your awesome composer building off of Koji Kondo’s music!
A big part of capturing that is that the animations update at a much lower fixed rate than the actual frames rendering.
You did such an amazing job here. Reall spectacular!
Probably the best animation/rendering I’ve ever seen of this classic! Amazing!!
This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen in my life!
This is AMAZING. Well done. As someone who grew up with this game and hold it high up compared to all the other Zelda games what you did with this is just wonderful. It looks beautiful. Id love to see this actually become a remake of the game. You have amazing talent. Well done.
I sometimes forget that you are a one-man team! I’m astounded that you managed to make such a detailed animation, environments, and characters in only four months- all while working full time! Incredible job, my friend.
I want an open world or semi open world Zelda, but with the items style and weapons style of OOT (not botw) and traditional Zelda dungeons, plus out of reach areas that you can only get to with new items. Also I've had enough of post-apocalyptic worlds, I want a fully populated world.
Wow. You really captured the nostalgia and the magical feel, music was just perfect to, honestly amazing work.
This just did my heart so much. Good thank you so much for the time you spent on this. It was wonderful
No words.
Just pure awe and complete astonishment
10/10, absolute masterpiece right here
Good job everyone
How did you possibly do all of this in 4 months? With or without a job, I would estimate it would take most talented creators multiple years to make something of this quality. Thank you very much for being with us to share such excellent work!
Thank you!! I work on my videos every day before and after my job and also during the week end :)
@@RwanLink Brother IGN used this film on there page n gave u a shout out
Dude, this is absolutely awesome. If this was a game i would download it the second it released, payed or not. U have insane talents dude because this looks like a real thing studio ghibli would make!
I never knew how much I needed to watch a full movie of this until now! The entire thing is amazing! I would have been fine with just the film but you made the game style look so perfect I want to play it that way!
