I am not a professional and this isn't the only way to take care of a tattoo, there are many ways. All of my tattoos have healed perfectly using these steps and methods, so for me this procedure works amazing and i hope it helps all of you.

I really appreciate your videos. I know this is old but the day by day is super helpful. Honestly I had no idea the healing process. I did so much research on who to go to and what I wanted and where, but no research on aftercare! I'm learning alot.

Just got my first tat on Sunday. I love it. So far the only itching I have is opposite of where my tattoo is lol. The tat still hurts in little places but I wash with soap and water twice a day and use very minimal amounts of Aquaphor

This is the exact process I have done with all of my. Both arm sleeves. Legs. Chest. And they all look fresh and bright still today. Thanks for putting this out there. More people need to do this.
Lies it used to work well but on my new neck tattoo I lost so much ink and it looks faded
Yes. I’m lying. I literally have both legs sleeved. Both arms. Full back and chest. I’ve done that same process everytime and my tattoos look amazing and bright. There’s other reasons it didn’t heal right not the process if you did it right.

So I just got my first tattoo yesterday and before I went to bed, I forgot to clean it. I just kept it wrapped. The person who did my tattoo, actually said that it'd probably be best to keep it wrapped overnight, solely because the ink will stain my clothes and bedsheets. He also pointed out that I could use A + D ointment after cleaning it with soap and water.
I would recommend hustle butter tbh for after care and about the whole having it wrapped up you want to let the tattoo breath

Could understand from the video.
Peeling/ flaking is just the old dead layers of the skin coming off. Totally normal and what you want. If you’re scanning it’s just an area that had more damage to it and healed differently. Those areas are not to be picked and sometimes need a touch up
You have some sick tattoos, and your vids have been a huge help and good information as I just got my first tattoo and it's a full sleeve as well. I was wondering do you have to wash the tattoo everytime before moisturizing? I'm on day 4 right now and it's starting to get really dry, flakey and tight.
Thank you and so glad to hear they're helping you out on your first tattoo 👊🏼 yeah I always wash it before I apply mosturizer. If it's really flaking id say to switch over to once, maybe twice a day of washing, waiting 30 min and Applying a thin layer of lotion
Do you apply moisture on a new tattoo during the three to four days? Or when the tattoo begins to scab, My new tattoo has not scabbed yet and it has been five days it also does not look flaky. I've been putting Aquaphor should I just jump to Lubiderm now?
how are you able to move your shoulder so well!?!!!?? i just got a sleeve tattoo on sunday that took 11 hours and man i can’t move my arm up at all! kinda burns in a way too

Thanks for joining 🙏🏼 and glad you were able to enjoy the video. For a tattoo that big I think you can still do it the same way with Washing and mosturizing but if it's to a spot where you can't reach on the back then maybe I suggest getting someone else to help abit 😅
So im on day 4, at this point i’ll make the switch to reqular aveeno moisturizer if thats okay? However, do I still need ro wash it 3 times a day? My skin hasnt flaked yet or peeled but does feel itchy!

Today is the start of day 1.5 and I still see redness on the inner bicept toward the elbow. Acruallt my elbow area on inside had some swelling after the tattoo and all day yesteday but seems to have gone down a little. Is this normal? It doesn’t hurt or anything jsut redness that scared me a little!
So if I finished up my sleeve about 2pm on Thursday then I should stop using ointment Sunday? And then switch to just lotion for 2 more days 3 to 5 times day? Then day 6 just once a day?
Yeah by now I'd switch over to the mosturizer. A good sign to tell when to chgne is when your tattoo starts to flake alot. When that happens switch over and use the mosturizer 3 times a day up until the 5th day, then after that only wash and apply mosturizer once

I've got like 9 tattoos but it's been a long time since I've gotten a new tattoo. I do not remember how painful they were to heal. I am on day 3 and my arm is still quite tender and pink/red in some spots. Is that still normal? I see you patting your lotion on and if I did that I'd probably cry...lol
So when you say “3 moisturizers” you mean moisturize 3 separate times? In the same setting? Or 3 times throughout the day?? Cool tats btw

Im on day 3 of my tat i wash it every morning mid day and night. Since i go back to work would it be fine to just wash before work then apply my lotion and wait till after work to wash and apply more since i can't wash my tat at work?
Yeah that’s fine to do. Unless you get really dirty or sweaty at your work, then I’d just step aside every couple hours and give it a quick wash

mac kue I would recommend using the paper towel drying method until it's healed and done flaking. Maybe you can switch over to a towel after the first full week continuing to Pat dry and not run it up and down like you normally would. Sunscreen is best left until completely healed after the 2-3week mark 👍🏼

What about working bro ? Im scared the sweat will mess up wit my tattoo . i work in oil rigs so sweating i cant avoid it since im always moving what do you think bro?
Sweat won’t mess it up, but if you’re sweating a lot then make sure to be cleaning it more than usual just to make sure its keeping clean👌🏼

Currently on day 4 and when I was cleaning/washing my tattoo a lot of flakes where coming off. I was worried that I was taking them off by force Is that normal? Or should I just keep washing the tattoo till all the flakes came out ?
They’ll come off naturally and when you wash so no need to be worried. Keep doing what you’re doing 👊🏼
At this stage is it normal to sill be tender? I am still doing the bepanthen but I can feel is a bit more rough or sand paper ish feel and a mix of itchiness and some pain
Yeah it’s normal for it to still be tender and that’s probably because it’s going to start flaking and peeling soon
One question Its my 4 day on my tatoo its on my arm and its colored and Im still applying ointment on the flakes is it ok? I feel like if i wash it now the colors gonna come off

I’d switch over to moisturizer now, and don’t worry you won’t lose any colour, it’s deep into your skin

Yeh that’s totally fine. That’s what’s suppose to happen. It will be a different shade than “fresh” but it will look darker when it’s fully healed when all skin layers are new

I’m on my day 4 with my forearm half sleeve. I’ve been getting some flaking and still try to wash 3 times a day wait the 30 minutes for it to dry then apply some hustle butter. It that ok ? Hustle butter requires a little force to rub in and the flakes are usually gone after I do I feel like I’m forcefully removing them should I just use normal unscented lotion instead ?
ik its too late for you, but for future people with the same question: yes, switch to a lotion with little friction once the flakin starts. You will want the flakes to fall off naturally in order to keep as much ink in the skin as possible.
a normal unscented body lotion will do the job just perfect

You’re fine just give it time and it will peel soon

You’re fine by then to smell like normal. Just still try not to scratch it by anything ( nails, SO, pet)

After day 4 I only wash it once and moisturize once. But that can depend on how dry the skin gets. Usually you apply to how you feel is right but just don’t over due it. No more using the aquaphore at this point

I wash it everyday up until two weeks. I just cut it down from 3 to 1 around day 4/5 and then use moisturizer
When my tattoo starts flaking that’s when I should stop using ointment and start using moisturizer? And decrease the amount of time you wash your tattoo I’m currently at the end of day 2 and so far I’ve been washing it three times a day and applying healing ointment.
Yeah once you see the flaking it’s best to switch over. Healing ointment gets to hard to apply when this stage hits. And keep washing for 3 times until the end of day 4 then you’ll be okay with once or twice a day (if you’re sweating or doing dirty jobs)

Thanks for the video! I just got my first tattoo and I'm on day 4 now. I applied aquaphor today and noticed all sorts of skin flakes that came off when applying. Do you think I could've messed up the tattoo already since I rubbed in the aquaphor?

Yes Day 0-4 wash at least 3 times and then by day 5 you can wash 2 times a day

First tattoo and you're getting a full chest?! Damn that's intense 👌🏼👊🏼 as for options after you finish it and the aftercare. Make sure to wear loose clothing, bring antibacterial soap and ointment and make sure to wash and apply every 4 hours. And try not to press anything on it like lifting something onto your chest

1 hour after getting my tattoo done, I removed the bandage and washed it with antibacterial soap and water. After drying my tattoo, I applied a care cream. Do you think I did the washing and moisturizing process too early?
I would leave the bandage on for about 4 hours after getting the new piece. did your tattoo heal good?
