I actually really like the ALICIA. Maybe it's from working hard to justify it outside of the cool appearance, but it's unironicalky become my main. Fast and agile like the AALIYAH, but the reverse-jointed legs allow for a sudden transition into aerial combat or just surprising your enemy....it also makes traversing vertical terrain much easier. Mine is called Vanguard, black with a dark cyan belly and parts of the arms. The emblem is just an X made of 4 of the flowing wavy lines from the Designs section, adjusted to be symmetrical, simple, but nice, haha... Its my MOTORCOBRA/MARVE setup, using a Kojima cannon or TRESOR on the back along with the PANDORA radar, or AS missiles depending on the situation. Performs very well in most environments, just don't expect him to maintian flight for more than a minute, especially with quickboosts in the mix. Not the best, not even the most optimal, but it has the balance of power and cool that's just right for me.
Aaliyah, right at beginning of game you can run thru all arena battles with it. Love the weapons it has (tho im guilty of switching the energy sword out for another mg). It's energy consumption can be handled if played right. Definitely a higher skill AC. Can't deny is a sweet looking mech too.
03, it plays to the strength of the frame much better. Reverse legs are often used for flying builds that for much of the time stay in the air. However the aaliyah parts have huge amounts of power draw in return for boosters that are very powerful, parts that have high PA values and the like. This means that they're really not meant to stay in the air for too long as they'll just find themselves with no power at all. Also, the low weight load of 04 really hurts
True the 03 just feel like it want to rip through it foes and get up close and personal while the 04 feel like you stay in a safe distance and fire your gun from there
