    Actually KCD has 6 different attack directions : up, left/ right from high stance, left/right from low stance (the five branches of the star), and thrust (the middle of the star).
    So KCD 2 is actually down to 4 directions, from 6 in the first game.
    Hopefully the system in KCD 2 was streamlined to allow greater depth through other combat mechanics like better movement and more emphasis on combos, because as good as KCD 6-directions attack system is, it can be quite clunky to manage at times, and can really discourage the use of combos especially for newcomers.
    In any case, glad they got rid of the janky slowmo triggering after every single perfect block.

      Yes and No. In KDC1 is stab on right click and the other attacks on left click. So it is more like 5 to 4 even when its technically 6 to 4. Now you will have to deflect and then attack to make a counter-attack. So now its two steps when you want to counter. All weapons now have more combos. Due to parry change, it will be easier to finish these combos because pery meta should be gone. On top of that, the slow motion during the parry should be gone too. So it is easier to get into it but still hard to master. Also, snapping is changed to be more intuitive and easier to switch between enemies.

      @@czechstag Doesn't change the fact that KCD had 6 actual directions, with thrust having its own stance even. Left or right click is irrelevant lol. But I think they made the right choice. And they even have expert swordsmen in the team so they know what they're doing.

    • @czechstag
      @czechstag  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@mathieu4179 It doesn't, but you had to choose between 5 not 6 directions. The mechanic made you physically do 5 different movements with a mouse. Now it's 4. That is what was hard for people to do. Not with clicking extra button for stab... Now you are making 4 movements with a mouse or thumbstick.

    All I ask for is a better targeting system. There's nothing more frustrating getting swarmed because I have trouble managing who I'm looking at. I want being outnumbered to be tough but something needs to change.

    They've definitely dialled up the armor and cloth damage even more than the first game, and made it look even more realistic. To expand on that point, what I'm *really* hoping to see is a "scar system" that applies a similar system to skin, and expands on the bruising/cut system from KC:D.
    They've clearly made the wounding system so much more realistic that they've had to be careful how much of it they can actually show in previews, because it's just so much more bloody, gorey and violent, but if some of the wounds you get in battle turned into full scars once they've healed, that would be amazing.
    It looks like cuts and stabs will realistically bleed in KC:D2, which is already awesome, but the addition of having a lasting scar would just be so cool.
    I don't know how hard it would be to program, and I don't really think it would be practical unless it's for Henry or other characters that you see regularly throughout the game, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if WH has added permanent scars into the game.
    They already had kind of a "light" version of it in the first game, but everything would still heal back to 100%, aesthetically. I do remember killing some bandits and noticing big cuts on their face and torso when looting them, but it wasn't always that obvious. Just a few occasions where I *really* noticed it, outside of the black eyes and stuff.
    The Rattay Tournament was always a good place to see how much physical, aesthetic damage you and your opponents actually take, because of the way the fight would stop after a round (so nobody fully died, even if they would technically be bleeding out. In some cases you could see the blood soaking through an opponent's clothes/armour in between rounds, when the Herald is announcing the winner. Even the lighting on the bloody fabric was different, it would get shiny when the light hit it, so they might have already had the right systems in place back then for a scarring system, maybe it just had to be left out or dialled back because of the old console hardware limitations.

      There is branding 100%. That's permanent. So don't get caught stealing :-D

      @czechstag Oh, that's right! I saw that in one of the WH streams or trailers and totally forgot. That is *crazy* lol. So brutal.
      Definitely realistic for the time if you were just a *giant* bastard, but damn, I was surprised by that when I saw it was in the game.
      I try not to let Henry be *too* much of a bastard, but I must admit that the Rattay guards currently hate me. One of them managed to snatch a single one of my 'Alphonse' Dice" pieces, and I've been going through the city every now and again and just pickpocketing every guard I see during my visits.
      I, of course, threaten them with cleaning the shitters any time I might get caught, but I still can't find which one of them took that one, damned die piece. It completes the set, I've gotta get it back.
      I think this whole thing started after the fight that happens while Hans is attempting to romance the Butcher's daughter.
      One guard got a couple of things off of me, and I think a single piece of that dice collection might have still been marked as 'stolen' (cause that system is goofy and i was doing the dice tournament mission at that "noble bandit" camp, just before that), so now I've got 4 of the 5 pieces, which is great, but just knowing there's a random gaurd in Rattay who has the last one just drives me crazy lol.
      I have, I think, a lvl18 in pickpocketing finally and can see everything at once, which happened recently, so hopefully I'll find that damned guard soon.
      It's funny cause my reputation in that city is basically 97%, except with the guards it's currently like, -100 or something 😂.
      I wonder if they'd have branded me by now if this was KCD:2, or if maybe the opinion of the town would outweigh the opinion of the guards, or something. Hmmm.

    • @czechstag
      @czechstag  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Its not gonna be easier. The entry level will bee lower but mastering combos and everything should still be challenged. KCD1 was almost based on parry since it was the best thing to do. It should be different.

    • @jameslen8680
      @jameslen8680 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It was only easy because of the master parry mechanic and the slow-mo that came along with it. They made it more complex or more steps in order to parry and also are removing the slow-mo. Hopefully that will make it a bit more challenging for you.

    • @DJWeapon8
      @DJWeapon8 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@jameslen8680not only easy, but boring because of the way masterstrikes are implemented
      Enemy masterstrikes can happen for any attack you throw at them.
      Which means EVERY SINGLE MELEE WEAPON MECHANIC IS TOO RISKY TO USE.
      This made combat a "First to attack loses" system.
      Which for the vast majority of human beings is *boring.*

      The combat was easy but not fluid, I think it will be somewhat easier due to Henry being an experienced swordsman, if not a fantastic one by the end of the first game.
