Tips & Tricks: Extract and Edit Images from a PDF

  • Ever get a PDF file and need to edit one of the photos in it. Maybe you need to use a photo for another project but the only place you can find that photo is embedded into a PDF. Well this tutorial video will help you with both of those scenarios.
    Adobe has linked all their software together in really great ways that let you take parts of one document and open them in another all dynamically linked. It's pretty cool and super easy. This video shows how to easily select part of a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat and then open it up in Adobe Photoshop. From there you can save the image and have it automatically update in the PDF or you can save the image as to whatever format you want and put it in a new location to use on a different project.

    can i modify with acrobat only and not with photoshop?

    Hi is there a way to save the greyscale image or the image of the kid with glasses on the pc one is working on?

      Absolutely. Once you have it in photoshop just select what format you want it in (like JPEG) and then pick where you want to save it. I've had to do this many times for clients that don't know where their original photos are but they have been used in a PDF at some point. Great way of pulling images from a PDF to use in other designs.
