We had so much fun doing this last year that we did it again this year! Today we are drawing holiday outfit themes from a bag and heading to the thrift store to craft some dope outfits for the season. Our themes included Christmas in California, fancy party, and a post-NYC brunch! We love how these thrifted outfits turned out!

You should make this a series throughout the whole year with different occasions and weather. It's one of my favorite things to watch honestly
It’s so creative and the themes are so fun! I also love seeing Becky and Kelsey kinda work separately. It would be perfect to do one during the summer, like different ~vacation occasions~

Does anyone else ever see thrift stores in TH-cam videos and think where the heck are these thrift stores they shop at? Thrift stores in my areas are nothing lik this
I went to like 3 thrift stores looking for materials for halloween costume ideas and found maybe one useful item haha OMG and the cashier said "Old Navy? I'm gunna make that $3." I died hahah
You really have to learn your area figure out where the rich people are donating. Figure out what thrift stores are good for what items. So go to every thrift store and see what kinda of things they have. And you need to go pretty much every week.
And you need to spend like 3 hours at the thrift store looking.
It takes time and work. You don't just find stuff by wandering in one day for 30mins once ever 3 months.
@@Becca__Birdie If you wanted to find stuff for Halloween at thrift stores you shouldn't have made one day of looking you needed to be looking for things for at least a month or 2 prior to when you needed them and visited thrift stores like once a week. That is if you are looking for specific items.
I find it helps to go to “independent” thrift store or charity shops rather than a chain thrift! Hope that helps, good luck!
@@LifeLostSoul Most areas spread out their donations over different stores so it's not as simple as just going to the thrift store in a rich area, sadly.

My favorite thing about the sorrygirls is they don’t need to put their title in all caps with a super interesting photo they just make the title what the video is actually about!
Living in California, I tend to wear jeans, a long sleeve shirt that’s thick, boots (like doc martins), and a windbreaker or jacket that is waterproof because of the rain. Tbh it’s not warm enough to wear a light dress 😅

I'm from California and I'd wear the purple sweater/striped pants/black shoes and bag outfit for Christmas dinner. I'm in a Southern Ca beach town, so I can expect high 50s to low 60s during the day that time of year. You don't see to many cowboy boots in the LA area, though I can't say for other parts of our large and varied state. Good episode overall.

California is a whole mess of temperatures during the Holiday. We've had cold rainy days and then a warm sunny day and then back to the rain.
they all look incredible, I think the cali one was exactly what it should be and the fancy dinner party outfit was probably the most impressive transformation
Christmas in California Guide for Canadians lol
1. Coats- it can still be a little cold here.
2. Layer coats on top of thinner layers.
3. Short top and long bottom or vise versa.
4. If wearing a dress, make sure it's either short or not made of too thick of material.
5. Play with textiles, velvet, satin, kit, and sequins.
5. Use Christmas colors.
6. Tight, hats , scarfs and boots are always a plus in warmth

I live in California (near Disneyland) and it actually gets pretty cold during Christmas. It either rains or it’s between 40-60F degrees.
I usually wear a long sleeve dress with booties/ boats and a coat/jacket for a Christmas.
Another outfit choice I wear for Christmas would be a pretty sweater or turtle neck (kinda like the one Becky wore in the first outfit) with jeans and booties/boots.

Talk a little about your state of mind when doing that : do you go and see what you find, do you have a list of “needs” you try to conform to.

For the people wanting to try out the patch in the jeans thing, jeans are actually very forgiving when you handsew if done correctly. If you just pick up very small stiches, the thread will dissapear in the fabric, especially when you go up and down close to eachother in the same ditch of the jeans fabric. Then you can barely see the thread and it will look very clean.

Every year is Christmas In California for me since that is where I live. (San Francisco area). It's not hot whatsoever. I was in Los Angeles last week and it was not warm there either. Night time goes down to the 30s or low 40s (F) and daytime is cloudy or rainy and often blustery winds We also have mountains in CA and they already have snow on them. A common outfit is jeans, sweater, boots and a raincoat. I was in Austin Texas in early November and it was not hot there either. Pretty chilly!

That’s actually how I dress for family Christmas parties here in California! Dress, coat, booties & tights. I don’t think tights would have been cute with Kelseys look, but she pretty much nailed it!
I’m a hat girl, So I would start my California Christmas outfit off with a black felt hat that I punched holes in to make sort of a sun hat pattern. Then flowy pants in a light colour and a rib stitched tank top w turtle neck for the winter vibes, probably in sporty spice-orange.
So nineties goes 2010 hat-look, maybe even with a pair of buffaloes 💁🏻♀️
Lol actual CA native here. You did good as the weather is “warmer” but still chilly for us. There is snow in a quarter of the state so Becky’s outfit works as well. Great job!

When I heard Christmas in California, my brain just went Beauty Guru outfit lol. So maybe a fitted mini skirt (plaid or checkered to make it wintery) with either a thin fitted sweater or a lacy bodice with a faux fur or winter jacket and thigh highs

Oh my goodness the Sherpa Fleece Bag project jumper 😂 these patches are such a vibe though, in the early 90s I owned a pair of ripped jeans all beautifully frayed, and behind the rip I had patches of floral velour. You’re totally capturing that authentic spirit 😙👌

All these outfits were sooooo fly... I loved the lilac sweater and striped trousers look, it’s like instant sunshine on a gray day. The fleecy patches on the ripped jeans is a jean-ius idea (yes, I went there.) I need more thrift videos with some personalization like this!

There is really a big difference between thriftstores. Ours happen to be next to an posh italian restaurant and all the nice ladies donate there last season‘s wardrobe to the church run thriftstore. It is a heaven!

as someone who lives in souther california, everyone pretty much wears sweaters and jeans just with less layers than people would need in colder climates. normally its around 60-65° at christmas which is cold for us 😂

Luisa Paloma Heller you can but then if you want to wear them on regular not cold days that you may be too hot. Also if the Jean's are too tight then it becomes a hassle
Yeah, thermal tights or even knee socks. Keeps me warm and no need to alter my pants. It does get very sweaty though. I don’t use pants with holes in them either.

I live in California and in the winter/Christmas its normally 60 degrees fahrenheit at most, typically somewhere between 45 degrees and 60 and raining if we're lucky, so sweaters, jeans, and boots are what I tend to wear where I live
