It's a lot different now. He was licensed for way less dogs than he had. Also his buildings are illegal now. No more wire floors in the cages. He hasn't passed any inspections lately with that set up.

I had a rescue dog and he taught me so much that I now know that there is other intelligent life on Earth and probably other planets. He could talk a little and count. While he wasn't a genius I could tell he was trying to communicate which is more than many humans do.
If the puppy mills added sound proofing, the dogs would not have a constant feedback loop of stress from hearing all the barking and reinforcing their habit to bark themselves to keep up with the Jones. Sound is energy and energy is conserved in physics and it will be transformed as stress chemicals. Not to mention the farmers stress levels will be lower and they might be in better mood and treat the dogs better if they didn't have to hear so much barking.

They would still be contributing to over breeding, inbreeding, and homelessness if they had “real kennel spaces” in fields - they would still be the problem! Look at the big picture, what they are doing is out of pure evil and greed. They see these animals as “pay checks”. If there were ZERO puppy mills we would still have a over population issue of pets. I highly recommend you watch the documentary “Earthlings” - there is a part about puppy mills that will make you understand more
@@sitkatofino Go look in the animal shelters. What do you see? Hundreds and hundreds of pit bill mixes, lab and pit bull mixes, some hounds and mixes of all of those. Even when puppy mill dogs or well bred purebreds hit the shelters they don't usually last long before they are snapped up. Because people want them. They do NOT want hundreds of pits and their mixes.

Doesn't seem to be. It appears he has an active website touting the legitimacy of his kennel. Along with a listing on some "StarBreeders" site which I would assume is run by a collaboration of puppy millers (although I didn't look into that to see what other kennels were listed). Both seem intended to appease someone who does a quick kennel search and looks at nothing beyond that.

We rescued a dog from there. She had lost her ear to frost bite and had her voice box cut to prevent her from barking. She is in the first part of the video that shows the cream Shiba Inus in the top crate. She is the one on the right. She didn’t trust anyone for over a year and would only hide. She is just now coming around and really enjoys belly rubs. She is 5 and is finally learning to enjoy her life! I wish people like this didn’t exist! I only know a tiny bit of what she went through but after seeing this I just can’t imagine what she must have endured.. I also found out that during winter that her water bowl would freeze and he would make her pick the ice and he would through her into the snow if she barked which is why he cut her chords... 😭😭😭 As far as I know he is still doing this to these poor babies! I don’t know how he isn’t in prison! 🤬🤬🤬

How Awful for those helpless dogs! That is no kind of life! That owner is CRAZY if he thinks that it is ok to have that many dogs and stuffed in cages all their life. He should be put behind Bars! You conduct these investigations, and then nothing is done about the atrocities that these poor animals deal with for months, mostly years, if ever. It’s disgusting that it takes so long to get anything done about these horrors. Freakin laws for humane animal treatment need to be changed, upgraded to what’s actually going on currently, and consequences so severe that it prohibits these people from ever having any contact with another animal, fines, and imprisonment. This has been going on for too darn long with little accomplished. It’s like spitting in the wind. You rescue 50 and there are 100 more...you rescue those and there are 200 more...it never ends because the laws are so lacking in protecting the animals...all animals. It’s absolutely disgusting.

@@theeliblog4559 You should check out what Fauci is doing to dogs and sand flies. He takes out their bark so they can not cry then lets sand flies eat them until they die. He claims it is research. I think it is torture. If you want to make a difference start talking to our agencies about the thousands of Beagels they are killing every year. I think it is something like 60,000 and they like Beagels since they are sweet dogs.

People are ignorant - there are minimal legal requirements to operate a puppy mill. This one is probably compliant. That does not make it right for the animal. All of these puppies end-up in pet stores. Where did you get your puppy?

Sounds cruel, but now of these dogs should be bought. This is so improper, it’s insane how this is a thing. Greed. I got my dog at an animal shelter that had at the time 4 total dogs ready for adoption and my dog is working off anxiety. I couldn’t imagine the effort, money, and time or if it’s even reversible the amount of anxiety these dogs go through. Not to mention the obvious health concerns. I could imagine most of these dogs will run a potential owner at least 2-3k the first year and still have behavioral and health issues. Then again, ignorant cheap people are buying these puppy mill dogs, so they probably don’t do any of the proper training and vet checks and hope for the best.

How the hell is a dog at a regulated shelter the same as this? Are you mental or just ignorant? I got my dog at a city run shelter and she had her own cage. Not 25 other dogs in a single 3x5 jumping over each other. Come on. Open your eyes and educate yourself.

I would buy a farm. Have different parts of the farm of each breed of dog and then buy all the dogs from all the puppy mills, allowing these dog to be free and live a happy life. With owners who actually want to adopt them from proper breeders. These dogs should be free to run around as much as they want. Also did you notice that all the dogs started barking at him, I dont think they like him very much.

Here's where you can really help!
Why is this legal? No one should be allowed to have this many dogs, especially for breeding. This country needs to have stricter laws for breeders, no one should have more than 10 breeders, the dogs should be required to have yearly check ups by a licensed vet, no tiny cages with drop pans, puppies should all be required to be checked and vaccinated by a vet and microchipped. A breeding license should be required and if you don't have one your dog would be required to be spayed or neutered unless it has a health condition that prevents the dog from having the surgery.
The owner thinks this is normal. He actually proud in reality he is pathetic. This is inhumane. There is nothing normal for dogs being kept in these cages all there lives. It's not right

It turned out to be a horrible thing. I seen many Amish families breeding dogs specially in Iowa. Sure is much easier to bit the system in the middle of nowhere.
I have NEVER known a farmer who had a puppy mill; but, anyone who wants to make extra money does it all over the country; because soo many people rather buy from a pet store (wherever) instead of going to a shelter or rescue organization.

This makes me sick. PETA goes after greyhound racing (greyhounds are treated so nicely, loved by their kennel owners and trainers, expertly handled and treated like top athletes) and does nothing about puppy mills like this?
Just a question. Do you always call every breeder a puppy mill ? Or it is just the huge breeds like this guy?? He looked like to me, he does need to do some work on the kennels, but they have the required space, he should have had no more than two dogs per crate. He needed to put sand down on the ground to help stop the fly problem, and the lying to an inspector is never a good thing. If something like this was found when I raised dogs then it would have been, shut down till the breeder could fan out the dogs more or rehome some dogs. I guess I had stricter rules to live, by, which was good. My dogs had a better living place then I did. I only had 20 dogs, and they were only one breed. Raised them for 20yrs, I only had pups twice a yr. One half would be resting for a year, then the other half would rest the following yr. I bred to better the breed not for money. When I could go no father on the breed I closed the whole showdown. My dogs were only bred if they met the mother puppy requirements, it takes a lot of know how and understanding the breed of Dog you have in your kennels to know how to raise high class Awesome Puppies, Loved and petted every day each and every one of my dogs Dam, Sire, and puppies.
A puppy mill is where there are a HUGE AMOUNT of dogs of various breeds stuck in filthy conditions with almost no food, water, socialization or freedom. Their cages are rarely (or sometimes never) cleaned and the dogs don't get vet checks. So there are usually a bunch of sick dogs that come from these places that have never been to a vet before. The dogs are usually filthy and/or matted. The dogs rarely get any social interaction, and if they do it's very short. The dogs get to just live in their cages for the rest of their lives or until somebody buys / rescues the dogs. No freedom, no running around or playing, nothing. Their only purpose in life is to breed and sit / do laps around a cage all day and bark. That's their 'entertainment'.
Common red flags when you're purchasing a dog from a puppy mill are usually: Little to no paperwork involved, so no contracts to sign or vet records. The "breeder" will not show you the parents of the puppy you're buying. The breeder will also not show you the puppy's living conditions -- this kind of place. Because of this, they are either sold at pet stores or they will meet you in a public place where they sell you the puppy, no questions asked. They don't care about where the puppy goes as long as they get paid. They also don't care if a dog is too young to be separated from the mother, if there's profit they will do it. Which is not good.
Whereas an actual, good breeder will be picky on who buys their puppies to be sure they aren't going to terrible homes. They will only focus on 1-2 dog breeds. They will make sure their puppies are well taken care of and happy. They make sure their puppies are old enough before they go to their homes. They will let you see the living conditions and also the parents. You will be given vet & health test records and also a contract both you and the breeder will sign. They will let you ask any and all questions about the puppy to ensure it's going to a good home. If anything goes wrong, they will give you insurance for the dog or some breeders will let you give the dog back no matter what age the dog is / if the dog is fixed.
So no, not all breeders are puppy mills. I wouldn't even consider anyone who runs a puppy mill a "breeder". Much less a responsible one. Yes, this guy is considered one of the "better" ones but that still doesn't excuse it. There is no reason to have this many dogs all in cages like this. These dogs should be free.
