Why increase the suffering of any living thing... For a buck? I see Puppy Mills as a racket. Here is an area where perhaps more government oversight would be effective!

It looks better than most shelters.

Exactly. Laughable when the those from Humane Society trying to come after these breeder society when their shelter is worse, and their dogs come from worse sources (rescued from the puppy mill of hell even).

Honestly that does look like a remarkably nice facility but overcrowded and more stressful for the dogs than it should be for sure. Shelters are typically only intended to provide temporary accommodation. For many of these breeding animals this is their entire life

Shelters are underfunded non-profits and they would likely not exist in the numbers that they do if it were not for these shi t show puppy farms.

@@lukeryuzaki2328Might be one of the dumbest takes I've ever seen on the Internet. The 'worse sources' that shelters get their dogs from are these exact farms. Sick breeding dogs who have never received medical care (despite cranking out profits for the farmer) end up at these shelters needing expensive vet care. We have rescues who go out to Dutch country regularly to pick up dogs who because otherwise they're getting the bullet for not breeding as much anymore. They have nubs for teeth from desperately chewing on their cage from boredom or anxiety, they're filthy, covered in fleas. They often have old injuries that were never taken care of. Puppy mills are absolute trash. They're not ethical breeders and if you support breeding dogs for quality, health, and the betterment of the breed then puppy mills should horrify you.

Don't forget, dogs are pack animals and love being together. That was far from overcrowded, in my opinion@@hippiebits2071

Why are there puppy mills in the United States of America???
Why aren't they closed?? When they get inspected is there Proof of that inspection that they went through the facility??
If Pennsylvania can find it Very easy to raise taxes, it should be very easy to protect animals. What are the Owners punishment????
It should be "JAIL TIME AND A STIFF FINE!!! AND CANNOT HAVE ANY ANIMALS!!!" AND THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD BE ON A LIST IN PA.
How can these people breed dogs like this?? Is there a limit of dogs to be bred at one time.
And they need to let the City know they are breeders. This should not be happening in the 21st Century. You politicians work for the people earn your pay.

It is time for this practice to come to an end! I don't approve of this. It is unfair to the dogs. The dogs should be getting individual attention and care!

Beautiful facility!! You could see the dogs where happy and well cared for. I am impressed. John the jackass don't know crap. I've been breeding Labrador Retrievers for over 20 years and let me tell you folks, I would way sooner buy a puppy from a licensed and inspected kennel than not. State inspection is strict, USDA/federal is even more strict. Bottom line - be smart, do your research before buying. Ask these questions: May I see the facility? May I meet the parents? What kind of health testing has been done on the parents? What all comes with my puppy....shots, vet exam etc etc? What is your health guarantee? How often do you breed your females? If you are not welcome to see the facility or meet the parents...go elsewhere. If the parents have not had any testing, if they do not offer a health guarantee on your puppy....move on. And any reputable breeder will not breed her females every heat cycle. They may do a back to back breeding and then skip, but it's never a good practice to breed every heat cycle, even though veterinarians are saying it is better to breed every heat and retire them younger, as it doesn't throw the female's body out of rythmn, like skipped heats may. For myself, I like to think that neither would I want to be pregnant every time I could ...lol
