      My understanding is that an SRRV retirement VISA provides access to the PhilHealth network. Is this a valued benefit, and does it somewhat offset the need for Expat health coverage?

      @@Lifebeyondthesea I'm currently checking everything about the place, to get a balanced view. Being on a dating site, I see that a LOT of girls are from Cebu. So the there is likely a whole "cottage industry" going on: how to fleece naive foreigners. ;)
      I have been divorced, played my ho wife like a fiddle and got over with minimal expenses, all the while also battling to survive near bankruptcy of my shop. Also successfully raised two responsible daughters for 10 years to adulthood, so there is a little I don't know about women. They are just the same all around, the only exception I would give to Filipinas is willingness to marry older guys. I comes with a price: youth for security. I'm fine with that, being traditional guy, that must support the ones he loves AND DESERVE.
      I find your advice balanced and worthy. One the better here.

    From what I hear, Dumaguete is a nice place for retirement, but the over saturation of Expats has jaded the dating pool.
    Some guys are claiming the good dating prospects there have been drying up?
    I don't want to date Filipinas that have been with other foreigners.

    Great advice - sets Philippines a bit apart from Thailand. In Thailand the cultural pressure on Thai girls to be family provider (x-many) is significant. Legend has it that upcountry girls are given all but a map and compass to seek employment in BKK where family (x-many) dreams come true - ASAP.

    My wife from Davao. I have been there and met numerous high-quality women there. Best decision ever. Any place where there are no tourists or US military base nearby is an ideal place to meet high quality Filipina. Avoid Manila by all means, because it is like a little New York city.

    Im not well adapted for hot climates and don't want to be confined to aircon during large parts of the day so Im keen to checkout high/cooler regions. I understand that Baguio is a major choice for expats and that has driven up the cost of living there... plus a drawback of maybe ending up under several thousand cubic metres of mud when the weather swats the region.
    I have seen brief video of Malaybalay which is supposed to be up high with cooler temps without actually being hilly in the town itself. Plus it has a university so is a centre drawing in young intelligent girls from all the surrounding provinces.
    I did, however, catch a mention that someone got hacked to death there. Could be that person brought it on himself or could be the region has unrest? If you are looking for a video idea, an appraisal of the town/region may be of interest to a number of viewers looking for cool places to live.

      There’s lots of metro areas with suburbs at higher altitude and cool nights. If you build a good insulated house you don’t need AC during the day either.

    You advertise expat health coverage on your video links. I'm curious how SRRV access to PhilHealth influences the requirement for supplemental health insurance.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      there is no requirement in PH for having healthcare coverage. but it is still a wise thing to do.
      as for the coverage, they have different plans. but the best advantage is that having coverage it will get you in the door. many hospitals will want cash or a ccard up-front to be admitted, or a settled-bill upon discharge.

    • @paulgarton6115

    That not a fair comparison it's like comparing a huge City to a very small town yes there are plenty of expats in Dumaguete and surrounding areas and there's a ton of foreigners in Cebu City but once you get out of Cebu City there are many other cities I live just outside the city of Naga and I rarely see expats The city of Naga is about the same as dumagette my wife and I go out and I may see one form time to time but not offen and I like it that way

    Both cities are populated by Cebuanos and Warays who are known in the Philippines as white worshippers and AFAM hunters. They've been like that since the coming of Magellan when they instantly offered alliance, blood compact, and their women to the white people. All of their chieftains except the newcomer Lapu Lapu of Borneo instantly allied with the white men. They are in contrast to the tribes of Luzon whose leaders fought to their death before being invaded by the allied Spaniards and Bisaya tribes. The mountain tribes of Luzon were never conquered by them though.

    I have been living currently in cebu a few years now. young handsome filipino men obviously get the most attractive women by far…..thats expected. In fact I have seen pinoy with some of the most drop dead gorgeous young Filipinas walking around in the malls.
    Expats are hit and miss. SM and Ayala Mall you see expats with all the above Filipinas (young, older, milf’s, slim, chubby)……but its safe to say the average expat can get at least a 5 or better.
    Im not sure about how expats fair in the province vs city…my guess is probably the same.
    My conclusion…some expats do better than other expats in terms of the quality of Filipina they get.
    But i have seen expats with some hot sexy filipinas. But if you get one be mindful some pinoys will be jealous.
    The filipino men are not blind….they chase the sexy young women too. They put alot of effort into dating…..because they want them just as bad as any other man would want a beautiful women

    It doesnt work like that if u are the first foreigner she sees ,she will be too shy to talk to u and even if she like u , she wont come to the date.Because small town ,they are shy and scared of being judged as well. More foreigner she spend time with ,it gets easier for her to come to your house directly even without a proper date outside

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      for you to even say that means one of two things;
      a) you've never dated in the philippines as an expat.
      or
      b) you don't know how to connect with women.
      i've been the first-foriegner a filipina has dated so many times i literally could not count how many times over the last 12 years. what you're saying is absolutely not true. you are guessing. not just myself, but countless expats come to the PH and date filipinas who have never dated an expat before. happens every hour, every day.
      and the filipinas who have dated a lot of expats are more often than not the very women you DON'T want to deal with.
      get to the PH, date and then you'll see how backwards you got it.
