After hearing a lot of live versions of Crises both from that tour and the Crises concerts , it is still my all time favourite drum solo of Simon Philips. Everytime I listen to the Viareggio gig, I can't wait that part of Crises. What makes it really distinguishing is how Simon slowly builds the solo, creating a tension, not just banging away.
Totally agree with you harry. i had the chance to see him in 1983 in france, and remember this superb solo. this was the first time i see a computer on the scene.... the fairlight
Also attended a French gig (Lille 1983) - fantastic gig, Mike and Simon both unser thé spotlights ! Also first Time I saw music playing while nobody .. played (computer dis the job for few minutes, quite spectacular !)
@@Mannizilla I support your Godzilla-ness but I was commenting light-heartedly. To draw attention to the prominence and quality of the drumming, you see. I know its Mike.
Simon Phillips, in my opinion so unrecognised for his drumming contribution to the world of music. A true master at work .
Crises would be very different without maestro Simon Phillips...
Close your eyes and feel the dream music makes ..... Thats all you need to do....... 👍💚☘️🇮🇪
Simón Philips bestial . Oldfield Leyenda 👏👏👏👏👏👏

when I listen this truck I fun myself like the bass player (when the drum solo ends)!
this is not a song, this is a symphony!
Que concierto mas grande, me encanta
such imaginative music late 70s.prog on

percussion God.peart .Collins .philips
The wrong order, maybe.
That's Simon Phillips with Crises Part two, supported by some other musicians. Beat that drummers.
It's Mike Oldfield supported by Simon Phillips and some other musicians.

@@progfan5239 OK. Of course Simon Phillips is a brilliant drummer. I saw him live (with Mike Oldfield) in Bremen 1984.
Bad synchro between sound and images ! But what a good music !
