GREAT Mike Oldfield. GENIUS Lack of this Kind of Music today makes humanity to lose something very Big and Important. The Meanings which could turn it to something much more and better
No doubt Mike Oldfield is a genius. It is not just music it is a piece of unique art. I heard Tubular Bells in my teenage time and this was the time hanging up with friends smoking weed and relax together. Today I am 60 and I still listen to it. There is only one difference - today I listen to it without weed 😎
All who read this and heard Mike have experienced something unique in all of human history. We may congratulate ourselves on having lived in the same time as Mike. Someone else wrote: "Mike is a gift from the gods". Yes, that is exactly how it is. If one day intelligent aliens visit Earth and hear this piece by Mike, these visitors will mistakenly think that humanity is great. But in reality, there are only a few humble people who do not live on money and war.
I was born in 1997 this song always makes me cry everyone has so much respect for each other no matter what this is the happyest I've seen everyone be! It's a mixture of old and new merged into everyone dancing I weep everytime I see this. I have a feeling my parents back then would never allow me to to go to Mike Oldfield Concerts back then because they loved me so much but then again how is it I never got to experience this concert but my hearts desire was there and shy in any given moment if I was shown this music "Because I had to listen to rock music". I challenge anyone else to listen to this videoclip of a concert more then me I bet we could get along if we were all dancing there, that includes me! Nothing can replace this feeling its like a meditation with a hug that was there but for me its just a dream ^_^ I bet if they did a concert again I'd spent every little penny even if I had to escape there please come to Prague and make it like back then with all the artists!
He's only 70, urge him to do a Farewell tour.. 6 degrees of separation, someone you know knows how to get a Mike Oldfield Farewell Tour to happen..give it a shot; 1997 is my son's birth year too. 1997 used to be such a distant Escape From New York future now 1997 is the past. ❤

This is possibly the finest peice of live music to come from the 20th century. This is so much more than a group of people playing instruments, when this masterpiece was performed the gods listened. That guitar solo woke sleeping giants 😴
I´ve watched this video already more than a hundred times... And even now I´m still totally flashed of this sound(s), this huge band, the tons of instruments / the instruments at all - this performance is one of the best gigs I´ve ever seen / heard - and I´ve seen *a lot* of live concerts. The absolute insanity...
There’s an old cottage perched high up on a hill near my house. That hill is Hergest Ridge, and that cottage was Mike Oldfield’s hideaway. It’s a place steeped in history yet forgotten by time. He must have watched the sun rising up over that hill and captured its spirit with his creative genius.
This is perfect mood music for the first warm, rainy night, in Spring, with the windows opened, and a nice breeze, a silk shirt, and lights off, while watching the lightning,.....=> AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
In lovely memory of my delayed former soldier-body Erik Brink-Vilsen, who introduced me to much Mike Oldfield-music! We during serving military shared 2-man room, at most played music were the masterpieces of Mike Oldfield (Y) :-)

@@thepagan5432 I remember that! But was that at the end? My memory might be failing me, but I think that was before Moonlight Shadow (vocals by Pepsi) which - I think - was the final piece.
@@JonLondrezos I recall that it was at the end when people were were shouting "Encore", and Mike said he had not planned on an encore, so they played far above the clouds again. I must admit that a couple of years after the concert my neck broke and I had a few surgeries and a plate and bone grafts to restore some movement. Been on morphine ever since (20 years) and that plays havoc with some memories. I recall vividly the concert but it is possible I may have the order confused. Still recall how the rain was torrential but I did not give a damn. I don't recall hearing Moonlight Shadow at all, last two songs I recall were Secrets and Far above the Clouds. Weird thing memory.
