I know this is 2 years old but I just found your channel and been binge watching....between you and Devin, I'm getting my evo fix ;).....I think when you broke the bulb , you must of shorted the filament in the bulb and when you put it back it , it was shorting to the plastic in turn melting it.... being that bulb is a incandescent bulb , the filament works by Technically shorting principle to produce light.....I bet forsure when you broke it, they touched again , got hot with no glass to protect it , and melted the plastic......it happens brother. When it comes to Electrical, it's super dangerous even in DC powered cars, chalk it up to a learning experience!!
I'm 45. I, too, learned to put things in perspective. I used to get really upset. I learned bad things will always happen, no matter how cautious you are. It's just part of life. So glad your car didn't burn. Speaking of that. I know a guy who almost had his modified M3 burn to the ground. After that experience, I decided to put a small fire extinguisher in all of my cars.
Hello. I ordered an aftermarket thermostat and it is small then the original one like the first one you got. Do you think it will be ok if I install that one?
first mod an car guy should do is install a fire extinguisher or 2 in the vehicle and have in in arms reach. it may save your car or limit damage. they are cheap compared to other mods and if u ever need it u will be thankful u have one take this bulb issue as a warning. nothing worse than watching your pride and joy burning to the ground
Might do it when I build the jdm one! There should be a video here when I went E-85 on the GG that I went over it as well! Just have to go back in the videos!
check your grounding cable on your battery ...bad grouding cable sometime can cause your cluster gone wrong ...i have the same issue with my custmer car ... hope i it can fix your problem
I am assuming at this point that it acts as a ground for everything in the cluster. It's a circuit so I'm assuming power runs through it.. and since it was an open connection it caused a little spark and boom.
I'm just going to say this... SHIT HAPPENS! And sooner or later, it's going to happen to YOU. Good catch, the worst could've happened, but didn't. Keep keeping on though bro. 💪🏾🙏🏾

This series is motivating me to get my evo to its former glory.

That sucks about your cluster bro. But it's a good excuse to look into a Ralliart cluster now!
Did you need to pay any special attention to the direction of the jiggle valve on the thermosat when reinstalling?
I didn't myself just put it back exactly how I took it out
Wow, good catch, very scary for sure!
Very.. But thank god I caught it new cluster is already on the way!

SOOOO TRUE! Already looking into it man!!
jdm cluster will also work i have a usdm cluster in my jdm evo
Good vid! OEM is better imo. Motora need to run hot to run right. Those racing thermostats I think are more for track purposes
Can you please do a video on how to go speed density!

@@ChrisGoorbarry Okay awesome really wanna switch over before fully building my evo.

@@ChrisGoorbarry your walcome bro ...hope the new cluster will fix the problem
How do you keep your engine so clean and slick??
I think I made an engine bay wash video on the red car when I detailed the undercarriege there you can see how I keep it clean!
So each lamp has different wattage and each lamp needs to god in it place ?
