Is questrade and wealthsimple governed by the PDT rule? And are they in REAL time or is there latency? Aswell how fast can you use the money made in a trade is it added to your portfolio to use again instantly?
PDT rules generally don't apply to Canadian brokers, but I would double check with your accountant if you're worried. Questrade is Real time with it's free account and it's very fast to trade again after making a buy/sell, but Wealthsimple you need to get the trade plus subscription to access that.
Nope. Not in canada. don't have the same rules, US do. Ross Cameron said that when ouy made a profit and sale, the amount is frozen and have to wait three days. very inconvenient. Get questrade, I garanty you that you will not regret. All platforms are in real time if you pay the fees.
Hey Mai, good question, go to Google Finance here: www.google.com/finance then search for the stock. You'll see it say CA listed security if it's Canadian, or US listed security. Sometimes a stock can be listed on both (for example, Shopify, or TD Bank). You can also tell by the exchange listed before the ticker (for example, TD Bank Canadian stock version says TSE: TD, which TSE stands for Toronto Stock Exchange, but NYSE: TD is the American version, which NYSE means New York Stock Exchange) Hope this helps!

Hey don't use Wealthsimple Trade right now for that, as you will get hit with a lot of foreign exchange fees if you buy and sell Tesla several times. I recommend Questrade, as you'll be able to hold a USD account so it limits the amount of FX fees you'll pay. Wealthsimple has mentioned to me in the future that they will have a USD account though, which would be a game-changer.
Hi there, I would like to know if I can place an order before hand, a stock currently trading $87 and I know that if it reaches $100 then there will be a pull back say $95 before it goes higher and if I can place this order before the stock reaches $100. Do I do this under buy stop limit where I place buy order with stop and put stop price as 100 and limit price at 95. I live in Canada and any brokers that allow this in there platform? I use RBC but they don't have such an option. The limit order should be same as the stop like $100 or higher which defeats the whole purpose of buying the pull back before trending higher. TIA 😁

If it's traded on an exchange, Questrade should have the same performance as most other brokerages. Of course, if the small stocks are very illiquid, it doesn't matter what brokerage you go with it's going to be tough to sell

I always get mad when people say that we can TRADE not inveting but TRADE on our mobiles when it is absolutly false. There is no possible trade without candle chart and level 2 and other things, like Top Gainers which are absent on mobiles. As for Wealthsimple, its a nono. Ok for investing but there are no trading. any self-respecting trade does not trade on any of those platforms. And yes, Questrade is number one.
no. There are no real trading platform on mobiles. So far, Windows are the only one that Ofer us a real trading experience, period. The only motif for you to say otherwise is money that you want from us.

@@WealthAwesome Not about making millions on penny stocks its about freedom of trading - unfortunately wealthsimple is not direct enough for investors & traders but they sure like to pump the "no commisions" aspect when the truth of their execution and the lack breadth in availables is what the "no commissions" snows people, like I said I hope you're getting decent affiliate cash for pumping a crap platform - an example for viewers: graphite 1 - picked them up for pennies, the market left them behind as they chaed the shopifies and pelantirs etc as with most mining stocks many were well below a buck since I was actually able to invest in them without wealth simple I was able to gain over 800% - nothing wrong with the company nor the stock other than it wasn't popular in the minds of the fickle... after testing results reported super high quality graphite and the usa declaring them a resource of national importance the many thousands of shares I grabbed are doing very nice .... this of course did not make a stitch of difference to me when I paid the 9.95 commission - folks if commissions dictate what and where and why you are investing you need to assess whether or not you're actually investing or just flubbing.... cheers!

I'm not too sure, but Interactive Brokers is probably your best bet I would try to contact their help desk to confirm. You can also try Wealthsimple but I think they do only 2 decimal places.
It's a solid choice for day trading, but I always caution against trying that strategy! Know what you're getting into and don't risk too much to start.
