Thanks for the video. I am a asio fan, but never had a G-Shock and I am considering between GBD-200, GBD-100 and GBD-1000H. Honestly, I love the 200 design, but 1000H have heart-rate monitoring and built-in GPS and I will probably get it.
I was mixing plaster at work, I lost my G Shock watch. After mixing cement in a plaster mixer all day when I washed it out at quiting time I found my watch, no band scratched as hell but it was still working. I have owned 2 ever since. 1 for work 1 clean one.

If you want a watch that will always keep time, the solar powered version is the way to go. It will be cheaper in the long run. Time is the master. Definitely the GW-B5600. I have had mines since before the pandemic and some seriously expensive watches i love but I always go back to this one for daily wear as it does all I need. Shame my Tag does not.

Visiblity of the numbers on Watch display is very important for me. I use gw-m5610 u normal classic Casio display but im not a fan of negative displays. Viva Casio.

My GBX-100 (same MIP display as the GBD-200) vs my GW-B5600 (Positive LCD) they're about the same readability in low light, but the MIP just looks so much better.
Gbd200 with mip display is good for the lifetime batteray, but bad for contrast. I have one gbd 200sm, i need more light & good position that the number looks clearly visible.

No. I bought the old style black out and did read a couple people online say the display was not very bright but kinda ignored the few reviews knowing watch people can be picky. I bought the watch anyway online and extremely disappointed. You have to look at the display head on in bright light or you can barely see it. The light is also crappy doesn't have the Illuminator back light but the less bright side light. Casio should have improved the display visibility years ago.

This is really disappointing but I still love the look and style of this G-Shock big daddy! Funny thing was I thought there would be a hack to get it brighter …………. But alas no no no ! This might be a deal breaker for more discernible customers……
The legibility of the negative display is the worst thing from Casio: why in the first place would you put negative display when you can’t see shit on those displays??

Solar would be fantastic! But a pack of 4 batteries is around $5 and takes a screwdriver, and a minute every few years. I'll get one.

That's the same problem I have with my DW5600. It's a good watch, but I'm leaning towards having a dial watch.
MIP makes it as readable as IPS on smartwatches... makes me want it so hard, even if I will lose the features (that I don't really use anyway).

GBD200 is definitely better in direct sunlight but in my experience it suffers in lower light conditions where traditional digital displays execl.
