I’d never thought of drying the pods to save the seeds in so they’re prelabelled and you know what’s what! I threw loads of lemon drop and jalapeño seeds away because I’d taken them out of the pods to dry and didn’t label them! I start onions cold too, I have some germinating in the garage that were sown Boxing Day and they’re fine. I’m making seed compost from 3 yr old leaf mould and sand soon, I don’t want to buy much at all this year so using left over building sand instead of buying more vermiculite. I think the tannin in tea tenderises the seed coating. Great vid, thanks!

New subscriber here. Loved how you explained everything. I sowed my onion and cauliflower amongst others yesterday. I put one seed per module. Silly me. I am a beginner. I thought if I sowed 6 onion seeds, I would get 6 germinate. I am silly arent I. I shall redo a few in a few weeks using your method of just putting loads into a tray. I was worried about getting 50 onions lol. I only have a small half plot allotment so I was starting small. But the probability of all 6 onion seeds germinating are slim. Anyway, shall watch some more of your videos. Cup of tea. Lovely.

Think I'm going to have a go at chillies this year. I haven't grown them for years, in fact prior to moving here my only real growing experience was growing chillies but just kind of lost interest. Always an eyebrow raiser what you can sow so early over there. Looking at last years chart I sowed onions around now and then nothing until late Feb with red Russian kale lettuce, and spinach etc. Peas rarely before the 100th day but I might give the guttering method a go. Thanks as always.
