Love the interview. Wei always seems to uncover details that others miss. It must come from his true passion for fine watchmaking. I was privileged to have an hour alone with Chris at Watches & Wonders and got to see these stunning timepieces up close. I was mesmerized by his incredible knowledge of very complicated mechanisms. Yet he explained them in a way that I could understand it. IWC is fortunate to have him as CEO. And Revolution (and the Rake) are equally as blessed to have Wei Koh leading these world class publications.
who would have thought “Portuguiser” line would be so breathtaking, kudos to the CEO!
Cannot agree more, how to further refine an already iconic, balance and dare I say perfect design, IWC managed to get the job done
I’ve never been a huge iwc guy but this interview has made me realize what I’ve been missing
They are awesome.
Thank you for the amazing presentation
Amazing feat of Haute Horology. Wei Koh is correct: Portuguese is already an amazing prominent line how can you refine and improve it? They did, with the new case construction, dial details, and mechanical innovations. Love that he mentioned the Ti GST Perpetual 15:53. I love that bold move. A perpetual calendar sports chrono they did back in 2001 and under-valued on the market today!
The Eternal Calendar is the watch of the year, hands down.
Amazing!
Always surprising to see the number font on the sub dials NOT matching that of the main dial (see the number “1” and “4” for example). So much gushing over how every detail was attended to. Yet this, “nails on the chalkboard” error persists. Ugh!
Borderline generic. As he said, first look it’s just another dress watch
Average…
The perpetual calendar was based on a 7750 ébauche modified by Kurt Klaus… a genuine horological tour de force at the time.
Warranty is once every 8 years, not for the period of 8 years
love the nod to Ressence perhaps on the eternal, Nomos also getting some shine haha
Thanks Wei
If only IWC calendars could be set backwards as well as forwards
They will never say this upfront
@@geeeforce Their ADs are very open about it.
There aren't many that can be set both ways but I can always hope that if they're updating the movement in other ways they can make that change, too.
Yes, I know that means a full redesign
Price ?
I have three IWC, one B-Uhr from 1941 though but the modern ones are all overly thick and that is a problem. Genuine luxury watches should be much thinner.
Lovely watches...
Meh
Beautiful watches but too thick which is unfortunate.
