Use a Q-Tip and a dab of Lighter Fluid to release the glue from paper stickers. Just lightly soak the paper sticker and let it soften the glue for a minute or two. The sticker should easily lift off without tearing the package it is stuck to. A Q-Tip and lighter fluid can also be used to remove the glue residue. Also, lighter fluid won't harm most finishes. at least DHL didn't damage the guitar like FED Ex who destroyed my vintage Marshall Cabinet and tried to say I did the damage but had video evidence that it arrived damaged. Thank God for the cameras. Also good to have awesome neighbors.

As always, love your videos. You may want to consider a different covering for your unboxing bench. The Black just soaks up light and causes your camera a contrast issue. Maybe go for one of those green cutting mats or mid-grey. Plain linoleum is great. I use a roll of photographic paper (storm grey) which you just dispose of when it get dirty/damaged. M
I had Purolator do the same thing. They put it on the porch 3 doors down and left. My nice neighbor brought it down. It was labelled properly; I'm 1160 and he left it at 1150. I was pissed and complained. If he had knocked she would have no doubt told him wrong house. I was tracking it and when it said delivered I nearly had a heart attack. She brought it down about an hour later. It was a terrible hour..
I find it odd that the poker chip is catacornered instead of the lettering being one on top of the other left to right and parallel with the neck on the custom. If I ever am able to I'm going to get me a custom. A friend had one and a person who hasn't played any of the models wouldn't know the difference. I played his and I also played a studio and noticed a big difference between the two. Even a standard or traditional isn't even close . I had a part for a harley that was delivered to a neighbors house three doors up from my home at the time. That was FedEx. I've recently got an item ordered from Sam's that was supposed to go to a house three streets over. I called Sam's and gave them the shipping info and they said to keep it that theyd ship another order to them. Was just 200 paper bowls. USPS is always putting someone else's mail in my box. Today I got an envelope that looks important from a bank I don't deal with . The piece of mail should have gone to an address 12 or so miles across town. Coincidentally their street and mine start with the same first letter.
My LP peace is also in Mellow out green. I took the robot tuners out and replaced them with Grovers. It’s my favourite Gibson! Sounds absolutely gorgeous! Named it “Joni”. After Joni Mitchell.

But every time I came across instruments(especially guitars) I held them like priceless jewels and patted them on their headstocks and wished them safe travels. From one musician to another. I understand the frustration. I once received a Violin in a box completely beaten to death that the case was showing, although I was lucky to have the instrument arrive fine. I can’t say the same for the people who bought anything else tho. Lol
I don't remember who it was, but my Glarry Burning Fire guitar was dropped over my neighbor's fence. Instead of driving down my road a little further, they decided to drop it off there. I had to go over there and reach over the fence to get it.
Too bad about the laquer crack on the Peace Les Paul. That is a georgous green guitar!!! I've always liked the Gecko burst, which this sort of reminds me of without being two tone.
In our building I’ve had packages left across the hall, at the apartment downstairs… the numbers and letters on all the doors are super tiny and it seems the landlord doesn’t want to fix it. (Also while there’s a sign on the first floor showing which way low unit number and higher unit numbers are on that floor, there’s no signs anywhere else… so every time we get take out, the delivery person walks all the way down to the wrong end, and has to come back. 🤦♂️)
I love the ebony les Paul custom beautiful guitar. The green les Paul not so much. The cherry burst double cut away very nice guitar. Now on the crank tuners my 1981 cherry burst les Paul custom came with nickel crank tuners. I love those tuners. Nice video thanks for posting

I am a sucker for the Double Cutaway ... Much prefer it to the Les Paul Single Cutaway shape. The 'wings' seem substantially non symmetrical on this version and that seems to enhance the design ... or is that camera induced ???
I live in an apt building. Fedx left my $3000. Les Paul outside on the steps. There’s a mail room in the entrance where packages are left. I called and cussed them out big time.
I had the same thing happen, my guitar went to my upstairs neighbour and he denied getting it and later that day I could actually hear him trying to play it lol

There is a little secret that most people don’t know. If you list the declared value for domestic or intl. the consignment is then put through a different sort where it will never touch a conveyor belt and most likely a supervisor will be waiting for pod info or may deliver it themself. If the cost of these moves is a bit expensive feel free to msg me and I’d be glad to renegotiate your pricing w DHL and purple/brown. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a cargo policy set up as it would save you a ton on insurance in cost and time as the carrier isn’t dealing w you for a claim (which they all deny first time round in the hopes that folks won’t go through the effort to follow up on it.

I've seen a few.. Ace Frehley had one made from Strings & Things and Pat Travers had a really beautiful Les Paul Standard double cutaway with symmetrical cutaways.. but Gibson will not do that.. Heritage guitars make a double cutaway. I'm wondering why Gibson won't do it because it's such a beautiful guitar with two symmetrical cutaways but in Les Paul carve top Style..TROGLY could you please find out why Gibson won't? You're the greatest and I would appreciate if there's some way you could find that out for us all

I feel your pain, BEEN THERE! But my carrier was Fed Ex. They delivered to 3360, but I live at 3260. Fortunately they knew who I was because they'd gotten my mail before, and visa versa. So I drove up to their house, in the dark, and sho 'nuff. She came out when she saw my headlights in her driveway.
That's awesome shipping, wrong delivery address and possibly body damage via a crack at the seam. And this is why I always buy guitars from a retail store, never online. Even run of the mill junk I buy the couriers often get the delivery wrong, no way will I chance a beloved guitar. But then I'm not a trader/collector and with business the risks are part of the game.

after watching that video of the excavator smashing up all of the gibsons they couldn't sell, I would never be able to buy a new gibson ever again. some of their guitars are good but they have such unconscionable business practices, especially the way they try to drive up the market with 5 figure "collector" guitars with obvious QC problems. I'm surprised Trogly is still such a fan after all he's seen through the years. But what's up with Trogly trying to convince people to forge CoAs in this video? Why even say something like that? Or music programs across the nation that could have utilized them. I'm sure if you get a nice Gibson with no QC issues it would be killer, but for the prices they charge there's just so many better options. Gibson is for cork sniffers.
Back in the mid-90's I worked at a vintage guitar store in SoFla and my boss was very well versed in Gibson. He hired me since I was quite well versed in Fenders. Anyhow, when we discussed parts, you pronounce Schaller in a peculiar way. I always heard it pronounced "Shay-ler" Not how I hear you say it. Did I say/hear it wrong all those years ago?
Why did Gibson spend all that cash on robotuners when they could have invested in normal technology like locking tuners? AFAIK locking tuners were around for a while before the robots.

Had that happen to me too one time, luckily the guy who received it contacted the shop and told them so I could go and pick it up from his place.

Same happened to me with ups. Even worse it was supposed to arrive friday and after they realised it was delivered to a wrong address they said it would be monday. Saturday i get a message it is delivered i had signature required so when i got to my condo i realised the delivery guy signed it himself and left it in the condo lobby. Anyone could of just swiped my 6k les paul

I hate Gibson for how much they charge for all the QC issues they pump out.

after watching that video of the excavator smashing up all of the gibsons they couldn't sell, I would never be able to buy a new gibson ever again. some of their guitars are good but they have such unconscionable business practices, especially the way they try to drive up the market with 5 figure "collector" guitars with obvious QC problems. I'm surprised Trogly is still such a fan after all he's seen through the years. But what's up with Trogly trying to convince people to forge CoAs in this video? Why even say something like that? Weird
@@SchnappM I forgot about that video. Yeah, that was terrible. Imagine how many poor kids who can't afford a guitar who could have been stoked to have one of those. Or music programs across the nation that could have utilized them. I'm sure if you get a nice Gibson with no QC issues it would be killer, but for the prices they charge there's just so many better options. Gibson is for cork sniffers.
Interested to get the Les Paul Custom
Back in the mid-90's I worked at a vintage guitar store in SoFla and my boss was very well versed in Gibson. He hired me since I was quite well versed in Fenders. Anyhow, when we discussed parts, you pronounce Schaller in a peculiar way. I always heard it pronounced "Shay-ler" Not how I hear you say it. Did I say/hear it wrong all those years ago?
Yep, he pronounces it right - I live about 20 miles near the Schaller headquarters in Germany.

Why did Gibson spend all that cash on robotuners when they could have invested in normal technology like locking tuners? AFAIK locking tuners were around for a while before the robots.
