@Marvin Santana Probably. Mr. Hess' death changed the NFL history. BB said that he did not like either Woody or James Dolan as the prospective owner of the NYJ.
1999 is one of my favorite NFL seasons. Throughout the entire decade of the '90's, it was Buffalo and Dallas and San Francisco and Denver and Green Bay. And then, to end the decade with a bang, look at what we got. The Greatest Show On Turf and The Music City Miracle. I mean, who in the hell predicted that the final Super Bowl of the decade was going to be the Rams vs. the Titans? The Rams, 4-12 the previous season and lost their starting quarterback in the preseason, vs. the Titans, who were 8-8 in all of their previous three seasons. Wow. Not to mention the teams they defeated in their respective Championship games. The Jaguars had the best record in the league that year. And the Buccaneers? Seriously? And they damn near won the game! It was just an exciting season all around.
Cutting _NFL Primetime's_ running time down by 15 minutes was the *worst* thing to happen to the show. The show couldn't go as in-depth on some games due to its trimmed length every week.
That was some bullshit they stopped doing late game updates starting 1998, and stopped doing co hosting after Stuart Scott, Bill Pieto and Robin Roberts. But i do miss Primetime so much, Fuck Football Night in America.......kiss my ass 110%boring . Everybody can agree on that.

Super historic day in the NFL that day as we had the Tennessee Titans first game under the new name, a new city in Nashville, and a new stadium is now known Nissan Stadium 20+ years later. Cleveland Browns return to Cleveland after a 3-year absence at the new stadium now known as FirstEnergy Stadium 20+ years later. The first official game for the St. Louis Rams "Greatest Show on Turf" era and the first game for the 2000 Ravens defense led by Ray Lewis. Excellent showdown in Dallas as this season spelled the end of the decade's top dynasty in a shootout in Washington. Last home opener at Seattle's Kingdome for the Seahawks as they would move outdoors the following season. Last but not least the Vinny Testaverde injury ended the Jets season but it was an important injury for this reason because the greatest dynasty in NFL history the New England Patriots would probably never be born because Bill Belichick never goes to New England if the Jets went back to the playoffs.
This was also the year when the interconference schedules began to get very shaky. The NFC is just as perfect but the AFC schedules are uneven. Because the AFC has 16 franchises and the NFC has 15, the AFC had to play 1 fewer interconference game and 1 additional game from their own conference. Some AFC franchises had to play 2 teams each from 2 other divisions in their conference BUT only get to play 2 interconference games and not 4.
