    You do such a great job with priming and prep work. I have seen some channels where no prep or minimal prep is done. I am sure their furniture was a disappointment, almost a scam to make quick cash. Your finished product is durable and I am sure will not leave the buyer in despair at money wasted on an inferior job. Well done on all projects, and the man behind the camera deserves a pat on the back also.

    I have watched every single one of your videos since the first one. I even watched all the air bnb ones, even though I have zero interest in property flipping. I was quite happy that you returned to furniture flipping. I don't always like the final results, or the decision on painting or restoring (like the case in point with Heywood-Wakefield dresser), but what I really enjoy, even love, is that your channel is not for the sole purpose of entertainment. It is educational. I have learnt so much and still do. I detest the 30 seconds shorts and do not watch it at all. They serve to entertain, which I totally get, but videos like yours teaches one so much. Thank you for that.

    I just bought some Limewash paint in Envy from Heirloom Traditions and I wonder what that would look like on furniture. Would it look amazing like the venetian plaster, or would it look like a 5 year old tried to paint it. I searched TH-cam and the worldwide web and I can't find any examples of limewash on furniture, so I think I might give it a try on the next set of nightstands I score.

    • @miriamkivlehan3498

      The value of a piece of furniture is a) it's utilitarian value on a day to day basis; b) it's durability over the period of time the owner holds on to it; and c) the pleasure it's aesthetic bestows on the eye of its beholder. Those components are invaluable. If a piece of furniture can updated to offer this value across a number of generations then it is priceless. Many 'antiques' were the cheap furniture of the day, especially veneered pieces which were simply a fake hardwood dressing on a piece of cheap maple or fir - a dupe for those who could not afford the real thing. That these pieces are used in present day times is beyond expectation and I don't expect there should be outrage in 3024 when thrifters upcycle the dusty IKEA find in their granny's basement.

    This was excellent and inspiring. I have been doing furniture on and off for years and even taught the basics in classes. But closed my shops as covit hit as I new I could not carry them through. I work as as a private event organizer and chef. I have my own space, and love it. I have stopped and started on furniture but lost my focus and got bored at times. Things like your excellent TH-cam channel have inspired me, so into storage get the furniture out and get on with it. Thank you so much.

    Hello Lauren Ive been binge watching your channel. love all your work. I live in Houston Texas and hope i can get to where you are in my journey of flipping furniture. I believe you are correct that dressers sell more than other pieces. i see a lot of hutches and tables and chairs being thrown out or given away. I think my area just does not value these items that much. Do you know anything about the Houston market? Thanks. keep them coming.

    Instead of painting, I would have stained the Heywood Wakefield a darker color than you did the handles. I think it would have been stunning in original wood grain. I thought the handles came out beautiful.
    I'm curious how you pick your colors. I can tell you're going for very neutral colors a lot but why those particular colors and shades? Do you have customers asking for particular shades?

    Your style and process has really evolved over the years. It's wonderful to see those old pieces relieved of their ugly dark brown and orange stains and the natural tones and hues of the timber revealed. You did a wonderful job of the veneered piece given that there is so little to work with. I notice that you referenced three different brands of knot blocking primer across your projects and am wondering if you find any one better than the other, or is it a case that only time will tell?

    I really enjoy the content, it's fun seeing enthusiasm and some really creative work. But $2500 for how many hours of work? And with what investment for equipment ahead of time. As a side-hustle, this makes a lot of sense, and as a creative outlet even more so. Totally onboard. But as a self-employed day job, I dont think the numbers are as real as they might be.

    I noticed that you used several different kinds of cleaners when prepping these projects: does the type of project determine the type of cleaner you use, or is it just what you have on hand at the moment?

    • @FurnitureFlippingTeacher
      @FurnitureFlippingTeacher  ปีที่แล้ว

      typically what ever I have on hand! I have a personal preference most of the time that I like to match brands across projects when possible. so if I use dixie belle paint, I will clean with white lightning, if I use lilly moon paint, I use their furniture prep, its not always the case cause sometimes I still use simple green or dawn dish soap but it truly doesn’t matter! the most important part is that your piece gets cleaned & rinsed really well!!

    "I Flipped 11 PIECES" Counting issues? In the video, you say you flipped 7. 3 are still on the floor. One you gave away. How do you get 11 flips? Anyway, they all look good. Nice job on them. That's how you do it. Looks like you're spending a ton of time on each piece--3-4 coats of paint is super time consuming. If you're really getting $400-$600 per piece, you're lucky. That's top dollar. But here's the problem. You said you made $2,500. Over a month? That's below minimum wage. And you haven't accounted for your store. What's the store costing you, 5k a month? And that was Christmas. Now, it's January and business gets cut in half. How are you making it?
    Be honest.

    • @FurnitureFlippingTeacher
      @FurnitureFlippingTeacher  ปีที่แล้ว

      yep we’re making it plus some! we have about 5 or 6 other income streams throughout our biz. the whole point of this is to let people know the possibilities to do this as a side hustle- $2,500 a month would be a pretty great side hustle if you ask me! im not spending 24 hours a day flipping, we have so much else going on too so this is totally doable as a side hustle. why do you feel the need to continuously comment negatively on our videos? we’ve proved you wrong time & time again yet here you are still. you’ve gotten maybe a little more kind but dang. you must find some weird joy in tearing people down. like do you not want us to succeed? why are you still watching our content after 3 years?
