As an autistic person, having the ability to work from home has saved my ability to work full time and I think that is something that keeps being left out of the discussion. Allowing flexible work situations allows more people(like those with disabilities, those caring for a loved one or kids) to remain in the workforce and provide for themselves.
I couldn’t have a second baby. I actually died twice having her and was told not to get pregnant again. Never take your fertility for granted sisters. We were lucky to get our one and only who is now 18 and an amazing young woman. We are truly blessed.
I'm sorry you experienced this. I had a traumatic first birth and recovery and I'm terrified to even try and get pregnant again. I want my child to have a sibling and my husband wants a big family but I'm so traumatized!
I also had a horrible first pregnancy and long lasting medical problems from the pregnancy and birth so she is an only at 17. I feel blessed to have her also! ❤❤❤
I watched Gilmore Girls with my mom as a young teen and it’s definitely my comfort/nostalgia show now. I restart it every fall, and it’s the equivalent to me of lighting a pumpkin candle or drinking a PSL. 😂

I’m 24 & all my friends are getting married. I’ve had to turn down a TON of bachelorette parties for that reason. Too many people want a big event to post on social media-I’m not bankrolling that 🤷🏼♀️ once you have the bridal shower, bachelorette, and the wedding, I could be down 1-2k for each wedding. It’s crazy.

Gilmore Girls is more than a classic, it’s a must see absolutely and I don’t think that it is overrated, on contrary, I think that it is underrated. Also it helped me to improve my English a lot because my goal was to understand every single word. I’ve been watching it since its original release, and I can say that now I understand 99% of it. It helped me during my move from Paris to L.A., through my divorce. I think that I have a special attachment to it because the relationship between Lorelei and her mother Emily was almost a copy of my relationship with my late mother, it was almost like watching my own story (partly). Wish I was living in a place like Stars Hollow, we need more Stars Hollows in our world, with all the characters in it. Funny story: I came across the actress playing Gypsy (the mechanic in Gilmore Girls) just when I had a problem with my car in the parking lot of Trader’s Joe. Wish she could have helped me 😂, instead of that, she started cleaning the windows of her own car. Actually, AAA helped me. My unpopular opinion: I love the Big Lash mascara by Maybelline. I know that a lot of people hate it, I love it, it’s the only mascara which doesn’t smudge on me. For sure it is not volumizing, it’s very natural, I often use the blue one which looks more black than blue, but I love it for every day.
Going from 1 to 2 kids is hard. That is when your parenting skills are tested. I love my skinny jeans. I love,love my coffee. Love make up. Not really into Taylor Swift music but I like her. Like being at home. Like your shirt. Pinnochio is adorable
I've found the difference between full glam and the 'clean' look is just intensity. We still do all the same steps so it doesn't really take much less time. You just 'see' less makeup at the end because it's more subtle and less contrasty. A black or purple eyeshadow and a neutral shadow are still eyeshadow. lol It's the same amount of blush, it's just a more natural looking color, same with lips. Still highlighting just not from space looking, lol It's all still there.
I think some people who have dramatic features can pull of the dramatic makeup look but most of us cannot. Also when you're young you can get away with more, but it doesn't mean it looks better. We are such creatures of habit and what was in when we were growing up. I'm much happier with the clean makeup trend now.
Also I'm actually rewatching Gilmore Girls now, still on season 1, and I find their banter hilarious! Definitely catch more on a second, third watch. And the pilot is probably the best pilot I've ever watched.

I think that Taylor Swift is amazing. For a young woman to have done SO much in terms of song/music writing is phenomenal. I LOVE the idea of a woman having some power in this world. I’m ALL good with that.
My 27 year old daughter has taught me so much about Taylor Swift’s power as a young woman. Her challenging the music industry, misogyny, sexual Harassment and supporting other women, while rocking a red lip, maintaining friendships from childhood and loving her family. We used to listen to her music on the drive to school in the morning. My daughter is a smart, independent woman with a Masters degree in Science. There will be no Eras tour in our country but she is choosing a Silver sequin dress online to wear to a cinema where it will be shown.
In Taylors defense, she just wrote her own music and sang the heck out of it. Her fans are responsible for her hype! She can thank her fans for being extra! I think she deserves to be in the spotlight! She earned it for sure! #swiftie4lyfe 😂
I think the artistry of her music is a big part of Taylor's success. People who genuinely understand songwriting and music recognize her real talent versus people who just hear her on the radio where it's cherry picked to "appeal to the masses". Her style isn't my favorite, but I fully recognize that she is an incredible songwriter and artist.
My two unpopular opinions are, I prefer silver jewelry to gold and I hate dewy and tacky feeling makeup I prefer powder products and setting with a powder always.
My first baby was a much harder baby than my second, and I still think 1-2 kids was wayyy harder than 0-1. 1-2 just totally rocked my world lol I think it also depends on the age difference of your kids. My kids are barely 2 years apart, so it was a big transition for a toddler to go through. Now we have a 3yo and 1yo and I feel like we have our groove pretty much down.
I hated working from home, it did not work for me at all! My ADHD made it so hard for me to accomplish anything. I need to be somewhere alone and quiet where the only thing I can do is work lol I’m back in the office Monday-Thursday and WFH on Fridays and this is the best ever!!!
My bachelorette party was a pedicure followed by a stop at a winery and a barbecue at my parents house. Super chill and no gimmicky balloons, themed shirts, hashtag and balloon arch required lol. My sister’s friends are all getting married now and she’s had to travel all over the country for these destination parties and it’s just so over the top to me. Based on that pool of people it seems like the parties are more for making as instagramable event as possible (and it often gets really catty in the planning stages) rather than actually kicking back and celebrating with your girls.

I watched Gilmore Girls for the first time just a year ago and I love it! My roommate would have it on in the background for years and I hated the sound of it so much, but when I actually sat down and watched it for real I got hooked.
I boycotted Starbucks for a while so I could try local coffee shops and small businesses. But after about 20 different coffee shops I realized how many places serve mediocre coffee, so now I only go to Starbucks

I absolutely love working from home and have zero interest in going back to the office. Productivity on my team went WAY up after working from home. I'd still wind up on conference calls all day since we work with people in other countries anyway, so work from home works very well for us. I'm comfy here, don't spend nearly as much money on gas and food, and my house stays much cleaner.
Same! But they are making us come back full time. So half the office went and got exceptions for themselves 🤦♀️ my boss won’t approve any exceptions for my team for some strange reason. It’s dumb.

I worked at home for 3 years and am now back in the office, and I'm back to my old self!! I've been in the office 1 year this month, and its just like old TIMES...YES, rainy days are hard, winter is blah but interaction is so important to me....Others love remote work though so... I was so depressed, and it was not good.. My employer sold one of our buildings, and many workers are At home permanently. I changed jobs to be able to go back in...mental health is key!!!

I never really cared much for TS, or thought she had a great voice especially in the early years. But what I do admire her for is her humanity. I was definitely around for the first wide leg jeans....in the ‘60’s ...heck I was around when the only ones who wore jeans were farmers & working “men”. Blue jeans showed up for “everyone” when I was about 12 yrs. old...they were hip hugger bell bottoms at first. Which shrunk up 😂...so the comment was “ hey! Where’s the flood” That’s when they started to say Preshrunk on the tags. I’m 66 and this is my third go around 😊.
The place I work has required employees to come back to the office at least once a week; if you have a physical office cubicle, then you’re required to work in office three times a week. The reaction to these requirements has been negative. Pretty much no one wants to come back, but I do know, from employee surveys, that over the past three years, there has been communication breakdown, morale has sunk, and there has been a lack of civility among certain groups on Zoom meetings. So, my feeling is it’s obvious we need to be in office more than once a week to get productivity levels back up and start being nice to each other again. Not sure why people thought working from home would last forever.

i agree about bachelorette parties! mine is coming up in two weeks and i wanted to make is easy for everyone. we all live in miami fl so we are driving up after work to disney to do the wine and food festival at epcot and then magic kingdom. most of us have annual passes since we live so close and we rented a big airbnb! Only one weekend, no flights, no crazy deluxe resort just lots of time together in one of our favorite places! also it’s Taylor Swift themed cause i do not think she’s over rated lol. We’ve called the trip “The Princess Eras Tour” jess it’s right up your alley so you should come!

My unpopular opinion: I love the Big Lash mascara by Maybelline. I know that a lot of people hate it, I love it, it’s the only mascara which doesn’t smudge on me. For sure it is not volumizing, it’s very natural, I often use the blue one which looks more black than blue, but I love it for every day.
Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows of all times
Going from 1 to 2 kids is hard. That is when your parenting skills are tested. I love my skinny jeans. I love,love my coffee. Love make up. Not really into Taylor Swift music but I like her. Like being at home. Like your shirt. Pinnochio is adorable

I've found the difference between full glam and the 'clean' look is just intensity. We still do all the same steps so it doesn't really take much less time. You just 'see' less makeup at the end because it's more subtle and less contrasty. A black or purple eyeshadow and a neutral shadow are still eyeshadow. lol It's the same amount of blush, it's just a more natural looking color, same with lips. Still highlighting just not from space looking, lol It's all still there.
I think some people who have dramatic features can pull of the dramatic makeup look but most of us cannot. Also when you're young you can get away with more, but it doesn't mean it looks better. We are such creatures of habit and what was in when we were growing up. I'm much happier with the clean makeup trend now.
Also I'm actually rewatching Gilmore Girls now, still on season 1, and I find their banter hilarious! Definitely catch more on a second, third watch. And the pilot is probably the best pilot I've ever watched.
Gilmore Girls never gets old to me! I’m not sure exactly how many times I’ve rewatched it, but the dialogue, the banter, the storyline, the actors… it’s such a classic!

I'm not a fan of Beyonce at all anymore. She seems to be a good performer but I don't know what it is I don't care for her music at all. I used to be a fan when she put out her first CD but I don't like it now.

Oooo I feel you on the elaborate bachlorette party thing. I'm engaged right now and it feels like there is such pressure to have this big elaborate trip with a bunch of people. But I just want to dress up and have a virtual game night with friends instead. It's not conventional right now but its better on our wallets and still super enjoyable!

I think the artistry of her music is a big part of Taylor's success. People who genuinely understand songwriting and music recognize her real talent versus people who just hear her on the radio where it's cherry picked to "appeal to the masses". Her style isn't my favorite, but I fully recognize that she is an incredible songwriter and artist.

My first baby was a much harder baby than my second, and I still think 1-2 kids was wayyy harder than 0-1. 1-2 just totally rocked my world lol I think it also depends on the age difference of your kids. My kids are barely 2 years apart, so it was a big transition for a toddler to go through. Now we have a 3yo and 1yo and I feel like we have our groove pretty much down.
I hated working from home, it did not work for me at all! My ADHD made it so hard for me to accomplish anything. I need to be somewhere alone and quiet where the only thing I can do is work lol I’m back in the office Monday-Thursday and WFH on Fridays and this is the best ever!!!
My bachelorette party was a pedicure followed by a stop at a winery and a barbecue at my parents house. Super chill and no gimmicky balloons, themed shirts, hashtag and balloon arch required lol. My sister’s friends are all getting married now and she’s had to travel all over the country for these destination parties and it’s just so over the top to me. Based on that pool of people it seems like the parties are more for making as instagramable event as possible (and it often gets really catty in the planning stages) rather than actually kicking back and celebrating with your girls.

I agree with so much of what you said! Crumbl cookie is delish but I used to think they're overrated - I gave them another try (four years later) and they're SO good! -- also my sponsor segway is just leading right in; "thredup is a... blah blah blah". I noticed myself saying 'if you've never heard of" and it annoyed me. hah! --- AND zero to one kid is the hardest for me for sure, BUT it's all circumstantial; the baby's temperament, do you have help.. etc.

I absolutely love working from home and have zero interest in going back to the office. Productivity on my team went WAY up after working from home. I'd still wind up on conference calls all day since we work with people in other countries anyway, so work from home works very well for us. I'm comfy here, don't spend nearly as much money on gas and food, and my house stays much cleaner.
Same! But they are making us come back full time. So half the office went and got exceptions for themselves 🤦♀️ my boss won’t approve any exceptions for my team for some strange reason. It’s dumb.

I worked at home for 3 years and am now back in the office, and I'm back to my old self!! I've been in the office 1 year this month, and its just like old TIMES...YES, rainy days are hard, winter is blah but interaction is so important to me....Others love remote work though so... I was so depressed, and it was not good.. My employer sold one of our buildings, and many workers are At home permanently. I changed jobs to be able to go back in...mental health is key!!!

Her gifts to employees on the tour, that is life changing for the truck drivers. And she makes a difference with her charity and voice to speak out on political issues. That’s what makes me like her. The gilmore girls one and the cereal comment back to back hit so hard LOL. I grew up rushing home from marching band practice to hurry and do my homework before the new episode of Gilmore girls. Also, there IS an in between for cereal. I pour the milk into the cereal, wait a minute or two and then dig in. I like it when it started to soften, but I get a bite of the crunch as well... so I'm the unicorn that doesn't exist. I'm the in between cereal eater LOL. This chat was so much fun. I was cracking up while having breakfast and listening. :)
I was definitely around for the first wide leg jeans....in the ‘60’s ...heck I was around when the only ones who wore jeans were farmers & working “men”.
Blue jeans showed up for “everyone” when I was about 12 yrs. old...they were hip hugger bell bottoms at first. Which shrunk up 😂...so the comment was “ hey! Where’s the flood” That’s when they started to say Preshrunk on the tags. I’m 66 and this is my third go around 😊.

The place I work has required employees to come back to the office at least once a week; if you have a physical office cubicle, then you’re required to work in office three times a week. The reaction to these requirements has been negative. Pretty much no one wants to come back, but I do know, from employee surveys, that over the past three years, there has been communication breakdown, morale has sunk, and there has been a lack of civility among certain groups on Zoom meetings. So, my feeling is it’s obvious we need to be in office more than once a week to get productivity levels back up and start being nice to each other again. Not sure why people thought working from home would last forever.

For me, it's fall when I see Little Debbie Pumpkin Spice Rolls on the shelves. I look forward to them every year. I wouldn't want them year round, but it's my fav thing for fall. I don't drink coffee so I don't really have any pumpkin drinks. Maybe a lil apple cider.
I haven't seen those, but I always look forward to the Trader Joe's pumpkin rolls. I missed out this year, they sold out completely in September.

i agree about bachelorette parties! mine is coming up in two weeks and i wanted to make is easy for everyone. we all live in miami fl so we are driving up after work to disney to do the wine and food festival at epcot and then magic kingdom. most of us have annual passes since we live so close and we rented a big airbnb! Only one weekend, no flights, no crazy deluxe resort just lots of time together in one of our favorite places! also it’s Taylor Swift themed cause i do not think she’s over rated lol. We’ve called the trip “The Princess Eras Tour” jess it’s right up your alley so you should come!
