    Can you install rails like the nu-canoe has that way you can adjust your seat back-and-forth when u load ur boat with ur gear. Just a idea. Tight line. 😃

      @@mrtilley66 👍 I built a camper top from the same material and fiberglassed over. Have been living in it with wife and two cats.
      I actually want to build a catamaran 34 to 42 feet range, and quite often find myself toying with idea of utilizing that foam. Let's see what the future brings.
      I am not surprised that the boat is working fine 🙂👍

    So I would've looked back at your video to see where you fell in, went back on the little boat with a net and maybe some magnets and tried to retrieve the glasses. But you can always order glasses online and get them the next day or even 2 days later.

    Makes me wonder how she would do with a 9.9 or so on the back. Would need a beefer mount but easy to fab something up.
    I am wanting to build a micro skiff also. But with a outboard on back and a bow mount troller.

    You can go to WalMart or almost anywhere they sell glasses or reading glasses and get a sport leash for your glasses so they won't get lost. A couple of bucks is a lot cheaper than a new set of glasses! LOL

    Question... Have you considered using a hot wire foam cutter to shape the foam? I think that would work to put outward angle in the sides. A quick way to dispose of a lot of excess foam and save a a load of sanding. I used that method to shape some airplane wing tips.

    • @mrtilley66
      @mrtilley66  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John, i made a small hot wire cutter but found the jigsaw a lot faster and left a smooth finish, I could have cut the ribs at an angle and saved some time but I used a belt sander and 80 grit paper only took a few mins. to ruff sand it to shape then I used a palm sander and hand sanded easy to do with foam.

    • @texflyguy
      @texflyguy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mrtilley66 I hated all the sanding and I guess I'm just lazy.

      Hi P MC, it is 12' /39'' I have a 2.5hp but have not used it on here i would have to beef up the mount for that. I did go back and move the motor to the rear so it would turn better that helped a lot.

    yep.......that is going to be a fine "RicSkiff"........like you said, plenty able and stable..........it seemed to float almost perfectly in that pond.........does that electric motor come in a larger model.....(more HP)?......4mph + is pretty good, but with gear, may be less. i really like the width and the way it sits in the water......standing by for part 6..........
