I’m about to install handguards on my 250L. I’ve watched a lot of videos, but I’m glad I watched yours… I’m going to do it the way you did. Thanks Frank!
Zeta armour guard went on in half an hour. I used the 6mm bolts as I think a 6mm bolt shearing uses up a lot of impact force instead of bigger bar end fixings not breaking and transferring force into a bar bending situation.
Great video! I just installed the Zeta handguards I got for Christmas on my 2017 crf250l today following your tips. It worked out perfectly. Easy install. Thanks! And I love that bike.
I agree. They look great. And CRFs Only has a nice website. I've ordered several things online from them. It turns out CRFs Only is located only about 30 minutes away from me in Ontario CA
I enjoy your vids. I recently purchased the Suzuki DR650S... My weight is not good... so I went for a little more power. Kind of now I wish I'd gone with the CRF250. Oh well maybe next trade. I haven't ridden in years... so I'm gonna take it really easy. Your videos gives me a lot of ideas for mods on my new bike, even though it's different. Good Riding.
I bought a set of acerbis x factory guards for my 300L and when I cut the guards I found that the stock handle bars are threaded for bar weights or something like that. I'm hoping to find a bolt that fits into the end of the guards and into the threads!!
@@perryderrenbacher7133 Just ran into that last night, Perry. An M6 bolt fits that threading perfectly. I used some stainless ones I had and it is solid as a rock now. Hope this helps you, man!
Thanks for the video, this helped me when I had to adjust mine after a crash. Mine were installed by the shop when I bought the bike, along with Zeta handlebars. They routed the throttle cables over the protector, but the guard was mounted a little lower than yours. When I adjusted it after the crash, I put the throttle cables underneath like yours. Not sure which I prefer yet..
Binge watching your vids. as a girl, I want to learn to do everything to ny crf250l rally and my wife's crf250l. thank you for your great content always. love your vids.
I'm a subscriber and watched all your videos. Looking to purchase a 2018 shortly. Did you happen to compare the Acerbis guards and why did you pick the Zeta? Thanks. Keep it up!
Thanks for subbing and watching! I didn’t look at the Acerbis. I have owned Bark busters a long time ago on dirt bikes. On my 2014 CRF250L, I installed the Zeta and I really liked them. They fit the 250L good and I think they look the best. That is why I got the same Zeta Pro Armor hand guards for my 2018 250L
Hi. Can you suggest me the best way how to cut the new knobs that i still didn't fix in my motorbike? or is it better fix the new knobs in my motorbike and then follow your instructions?
Hello. With the Pro Bend bars, does the kit COME WITH the swivel bar mounts? Thanks in advance. My wife and I use your videos a lot for advice on ours.
Actually the Factory blinkers are great, they are plenty bright and they look good. The LED. Are just smaller and not as noticeable when off. Just makes it look more like a dirt bike, kinda like doing the rear fender eliminator makes the 250L look better but it’s really not better.
I need to get a pair of these for my 250L. I watched a video by SR Moto and they suggested using the triple clamp mount for these Zeta pro armor handguards, do you have any experience with that? Is there any better or any worse than the bar mount that you used?
For the life of me I cannot get these to work. Using the 7/8 inch. Cannot get the spread adapter to grab inside the bar end. The whole thing just spins as I try and tighten.
Looking for the black muffler cover like yours. I have the left side in black that I got from Thailand and I got the muffler cover from there also and it doesn't fit! My bad it says it only fits up to a 2016. I have a 2017. Where did you get yours? Thanks!
Just got the "armor" version from crfsonly. They have a longer spreader to go into the handles and have some plastic on the sides, but otherwise seem to be the same. I am having some issues and can't find anyone else having the same problems. I get it lined up right and flush with the ends of the handles, the clamp arm is too long and goes past where it should be bolting in. If I get it so that I can sort of bolt it in, the guard is really off center and not flush with the end of the handles. I have the stock handle bar like you. It seems that the clamp arms are way too long. When I line everything up properly, the end of the guard with the bolt hole is nearly touching the actual clamp part if the bar clamp. Any suggestions?
I ended up basically having to cut the tip of the throttle grip off as you did because the throttle was binding up and getting stuck if I pushed the expander in all the way.
This guys awesome installs everything perfectly with patience!
Thanks

Thanks Dan, This is my 2nd set I’ve the Zeta handguards, I also had a set on my 2014 250L. They are pretty sweet and the best looking in my opinion
I agree. They look great. And CRFs Only has a nice website. I've ordered several things online from them. It turns out CRFs Only is located only about 30 minutes away from me in Ontario CA
Should use a fork mount adapter. Bars can still easily bens in a fall
Great timing! Mine came in this week and I will be installing them on Saturday! I went with the Black w/ signals
I had them on my 2014 and they was great so that is why I chose them again.
Thanks for the video. I put the Zeta hand guards on my 2018 CRF250L today. Your video made it much easier. Thanks again.
Awesome, glad it helped

Main thing is so when you turn from left to right, you don’t want any of the cables to tight
Excellent install video, Woodzman. Got these handguards, as well. Good stuff.
Thanks Gus. I had them on my 2014 and really liked them
Nice install!
You make it look so easy. Great vid. Thank u.

Loving this new intro!
Thanks Glenn
Thanks for the very helpful video. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the end of the levers being lower than the protective bar? Thanks
Your welcome. That is just how I like them
Love this channel
Thanks for watching Cody
great job again - question should I put the locktight on all the bolts
Thanks, it’s a good idea, I didn’t at first and they did come lose so I have it on them now
Another great video! What kind of bag is that on the rack?
That is the Nelson Rigg dual sport back, it’s a good one. amzn.to/389mNSU

Good vid.. did u pant ur tool compartment black and the headlight part red? Gotta vid on that I'm sure?

What is the Xc protectors ? Do I need them Woodzman ? Buying them now
looking good.
Thank yuh ! Its warmin up so time to start ridin agin
Where did you get the new plastics? Didn't see a video on that. Didn't see them on crfs only either. Looks great I don't like the white as well.
That was sent to me from the Honda Factory in Japan. They don’t sell it in the US
Hi. Can you suggest me the best way how to cut the new knobs that i still didn't fix in my motorbike? or is it better fix the new knobs in my motorbike and then follow your instructions?
Knobs ?
Hello. With the Pro Bend bars, does the kit COME WITH the swivel bar mounts? Thanks in advance. My wife and I use your videos a lot for advice on ours.
You mean the pro bend hand guards ? I don’t know about the pro bend hand guards but the drop down bend like I use do
@@WOODZMAN Yes sir. The drop down guard bars.
One more question. What is the advantage of LED blinkers? Are originals not bright enough or in the way?
Actually the Factory blinkers are great, they are plenty bright and they look good. The LED. Are just smaller and not as noticeable when off. Just makes it look more like a dirt bike, kinda like doing the rear fender eliminator makes the 250L look better but it’s really not better.
I thought I heard you say Zeta PRO in the start of this video. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)
Do they even fit the stock bars.
I may have but they are not the pro. Yea they fit stock bars
I’m not buying guards, buying pair of OEM levers to keep in the tailbag ($24).
That works too, but if you drop it as often as I do, you might go through levers pretty quickly :)
I need to get a pair of these for my 250L. I watched a video by SR Moto and they suggested using the triple clamp mount for these Zeta pro armor handguards, do you have any experience with that? Is there any better or any worse than the bar mount that you used?
I have not use them, they may be better but I couldn’t say.
Frank - can you hook tie-down straps onto the Zeta bars when you trailer the bike?
No I wouldn’t try that, the way they go to the bar ends. I wouldn’t trust it
@@WOODZMAN ok thanks.
what kind of camera do you have?...it is a good one... I have the same bike ,,,,by the way
I have a SENA 10C EVO it’s in my Amazon Store under SENA www.amazon.com/shop/woodzmanadventures
I hope I have my own CRF motorcycle someday I really like this kind of bike but I don't have enough money to buy this bike
It’s a great choice
For the life of me I cannot get these to work. Using the 7/8 inch. Cannot get the spread adapter to grab inside the bar end. The whole thing just spins as I try and tighten.
Did they come with 2 different sizes?
@@WOODZMAN yes they did
The larger ones is for the steel bars

It’s a factory one from Honda. Sponsorship
i cant take for mine is it ? WOODZMAN ADVENTURES

thanks man..
I didn't get a washer?
Hi did you used the plastic washer?
No I just make sure the grip isn’t touching. I have a small gap
I like your kind of OCD :) Clean bike
I have just always been that way, I get it really muddy at times but I try to get it washed off before it drys.

Mine is the same way, I just got it as close as I could to being lined up
@@WOODZMAN Gotcha, thanks. Have a good one.
Hi, this is a 7/8" bar mounts or 1-1/8" ?
That is 7/8” for stock bars
nice
Thanks for watching !
Why not just drill out the ends with a step bit?
You can and I have before
@@WOODZMAN Awesome! I should have rephrased the question, 'can you use a step bit on the crf250l'? I'll give it a go this evening.
Yea I have used one before and it does work
I ended up basically having to cut the tip of the throttle grip off as you did because the throttle was binding up and getting stuck if I pushed the expander in all the way.

what gloves ?
?
