💥 My wife has now seen yours enough in livestreams and videos that she’s finally open to the idea. One of these years maybe. Great video Gina! 👍 *Keep on tractoring!*
Hello. Very informative. THANKS!!I've always had a vision of this type of home since I was a little girl. I grew up in the country area. This answered many questions.
The reason I looked into Barndo’s was for the cost savings but still being able to get a very nice home. I soon found out after contacting builders that there is no savings. Plus there is hurdles to overcome just to get it done more so than a traditional home. I will just build a traditional home when I move to FL unless someone proves to me there is a clear advantage. Haven’t seen it yet.
We were able to save because we converted an old barn. I can’t speak for a new metal frame build. But I will say I absolutely love the look, style and the space. Good luck on your decision 💐
I live in Panama City Fl and we are going to start a Barnominum! Our current home is in Lynn Fl and will go on the market this week.So we are planning on building on my dads farm in Altha Fl near Marianna Fl.We stayed for hurricane Michael and lost most of our home and had to remodel. But it’s so nice to see this video with someone who lives near me!!I am trying to figure out a house plan.I know what I want on the outside but inside I have not figured out.Sorry for rambling on and I love your home!;)
I love everything!!!! Question- where is the coffee corner you have? On that note I would love to see a layout or plans. We are hoping to build this year! Your are so fun to watch, thank you sooo much for sharing!
IDK about cheaper. i have been on this barndaminium kick for a while now... and it seems to me that its about the same cost, you have to buy land and if there is no sewer or electricity or water, you have to get that there... that's a big cost, plus all the permits and the land alone is a big cost. Maybe you get lucky and already own the barn you are converting along with the land well thats a huge chunk of money saved. but if you have to get everything including the land and all the essentials to live on said land. its not as cheap as people make it out to be unless you are doing most of the interior work yourself. at least where im looking. so idk.
Personally with land and finishings on my parents 5000sq ft barndo half house half shop all in all was about $180,000. Brand new build we pulled wire installed insulation framed everything ourselves with help of family and a few friends along the way. We live on roughly 10.5 acres and we built ours in 2016. If you’re handy enough to do it you can save thousandsssss of dollars. Also finding people for installing countertops he was fairly new to his business and we saved thousands on that as well. If you really want to save your money there are ways of doing things yourself. Luckily my uncle is an electrician and other uncle is a plumber. We saved there as well. So it’s really about what you can do and bargaining to save that $$. My parents had a traditional home my whole life until I was a senior in high school and that’s when they bought our land and eventually built. They built their traditional home by themselves as well besides exterior framing and a few other things. However sweat equity is a beautiful thing. Just thought I’d share
Hi thank you for taking your time to answer so many important questions. Do you know of any companies that design/build in Pasco and Hernando County here in Florida. Thank you for your time in my questions.
Love your house ! We’re thinking to build a barndominuim close to Panama City area but we couldn’t find any company to get an estimate yet. Do you know any company who does this type of buildings in the area ? Thank you 🙏
Hello, I was just looking for a rough estimate of what it would cost to build and convert a 44X36 Carolina Barn into a home? According to your website a 44X36 Carolina Barn is available at just under $16,000 for the shell so I would still need to have concrete work, plumbing, electrical, insulation, interior walls, and various expected/unexpected ins and outs. I realize that pricing for any and all varies on location. Just wanted an idea of the cost. Thanks for any thoughts, opinions, advice, or help.
my advice would be to talk to local contractors to see what the going rate would be for them to do it, then drop that price by 10%-25%. Of course you can always save by doing labor yourself or finding supplies on sale.
Oh my! I was shocked to hear that you lived in Florida😲! This vid was so helpful. I have land but I truly need help finding the best foundation contractor and suggestions of models. I would like to utilize about an acre or less...HELP!😌
Wow I actually live in the same exact area as you. I've been beyond interested in building a barndo but I can't seem to find any information on the legalities and zoning for our area. Do you have any information to help with that? Thanks in advance.
When someone talks about a barndominium with me I tell them not to call it a barndominium. That's a trendy name that adds to the trendy cost. What sounds like its cheaper to build, a barndominium, or a metal building? I'm gonna build a metal building, with living quarters. That still sounds cheaper than a barndominium. I think if you wanna build one on the cheap, do it yourself. If you dont have the means to build it yourself, find a builder that builds metal building and doesnt call them barndominiums.
You know Gina i see so many great big old milk barns that would make a great home just to see them burned down around me here in ohio or they let them fall down so they dont have to pay taxes on them anymore do to property taxes.. i see a lot of history in old barns. I mean if you look at the craftsmanship that went into them its a lost art them big old wood beams are Beautiful you know the ones with the wooden Dial pins to hold them together... its really a same. I feel more people should like into them to .ake them into home.. as always god bless and stay safe from the buckeye state.. O and Gina i think your going to give hank a run for the money on your channel 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just found your channel & I love it!! My husband & I are planning on building our own barndominium & you have given me such inspiration.

I agree
There are a lot of variables do it’s definitely not black and white for sure

We saved huge by doing 90% of the work ourselves. Took longer but it was worth it

Yes, go to your local County Building official and they can answer any questions you have about zoning, permits, etc😉
Love this video buddy 👊
Thank you!
Your welcome buddy
Are the steel barndominiums loud in inclement weather? I've read that even with good insulation, it's still really loud when it rains.
The rain on the roof can get loud if it really rains hard but I love the sound of rain so it doesn’t bother me😉
Excellent video.
Thank you☺️
Thanks for the info :)
Thank you!
How is cell service inside? I’m nervous about a metal roof.
Great Question! We have our WiFi router upstairs and a WiFi extender downstairs so it works fine.
Great job Hank is a lucky man lol

Thank you!
How do you find a contractor that is knowledgeable and competent in barndos?
I'd search Facebook groups in your area. Thanks for watching!
Is a barndominium building the same as a warehouse from the outside??
Not mine😉 it probably depends on the style you choose as to how it appears on the outside. Ours is Monitor style
Good job and God bless yall 🙏
Thank you!!
Are your floor plans in any of your videos? We just bought an unfinished barndominium and it looks sooo similar to yours from what I’ve seen
No I drew them up myself ☺️
