I took my ends off on my grom it was really in there. I took a small pipe wrench and impact and put a little pressure on pipe wrench and hit it with impact n bam there ya go no issue came off like a dream. Hope it works for u as easy as it did for me.

Duuuuude! Ouch! I feel ur pain tho. Had a similar experience with a screw gun. Only the actual screw broke and the bit (still spinning) went thru my thumbnail. OUCH!

If you turn the black end piece with vice grips, it breaks the lock tight, and the screw will come out with no issues, took me awhile to figure it out. Impacts work also but it looks like 1 of the screws got beat up a bit. You will need to buy some washers for the throttle side, and reuse the screws. Any questions hit me up, I just did mine and my daughters 23' a few weeks ago.
