Having danced the 5 rythyms personally, I have healed myself from physical ailments and from emotional ones. As for color and such, where what you want. I always wore red. As dancing the rythyms, it's about dancing YOUR dance. If you are cool with chaos...awesome for you! Try it before you knock it.

Tarotai: If this practice becomes the only aspect of an unguided spiritual path, the individual can over identify with it. However it can be an exceptionally powerful tool for breaking through resistance to experience no-self. If used in conjunction with other forms of practice under the guidance of a teacher from an established tradition ~ Taoist, Buddhist, etc., it can be an insightful and transformative tool not only energetically, but in the observation of the mind's various attachments.

un vantaggio che sto scoprendo diventando vecchia è che le esperienze restano, anche se me ne sono dimenticata... questa, dei 5 Ritmi, mi ha accompagnato comunque, che meraviglia riconoscerlo.
era quasi venti anni afa... Thanks Gabrielle!

oh my beautiful! seeking to heal the soul. Colors changing. The body knows what head consciousness does not. Perhaps my feminine soul is reacting to my masculine push, push, push. The push to penetrate the many years dreams has been relentless. My walking body hurting, physical healing must slow and sit in the feminine body in peace and receptivity. Love chaos. The world was birthed from chaos. I will birth my Self from the chaos.

So what do people make of the criticism: people who ARE calm and balanced seek chaos (they can handle it) and those who are filled with turmoil seek stillness. It's why the attitude I see in this video and the attitudinal movements it is a part of always leaves me suspect. I seek chaos because my own inner world feels quite stable.
I love anxiety. I love angst. They are such motivators.

Five Rhythms dance shares qualities of Taoist chi kung, especially its correlation with the five elements or phases and the surrender of the body/mind to breath and movement and the embodiment of a particular element. I don't disagree with Tarotai however that dance in this form is definitely walking on the side of temptation, but that isn't always bad. Narcissism rests at the foundation of our culture, this practice can provide a mirror to those who are ready to look into it deeply.

It's not a performance. No need to dress in any particular colors, styles. When you dance like this, the colors are out of this world within your soul.

What does 'fast' have to do with meditation? What does fast have to do with proper 'heart-attainment'? After all, 'quick' may very well cause a person's life to be altered in a way that can seriously hinder one's personal journey.
Have a look at Joey Bond Tai Chi Movie & Fortune cookies, and experience qualified slowness and seasoned awareness.
This video is very pretty and well-meaning, but all the same it is essentially an exhibition of narcissistic indulgence.

Your comment on Gabrielle Roth's Inner Wave Dance is, in your own words, "essentially an exhibition of narcissistic indulgence" in know-it-all judgmentalism.
