What about Oldham? They didn’t even make the roller coaster, they just fell off the cliff!
Bolton Wanderers are heading in the right direction and can probably count themselves a little bit unlucky to miss out on promotion to Oxford United in the EFL League One playoff final in 2024.
I feel sure that it will only be a matter of time before Bolton Wanderers are back up in the EFL Championship just the one level below the Premier League.
No mention of Oldham Athletic the founder members of The Premier League now playing in the National League
Ayo are we gonna ignore the fact that theres now a former Premier League club playing in the National League
I mean Blackburn won the premier league and still somehow haven’t ended up on this list 😂😂
Yeah definitely one for the next list :)
Thanks for the feedback mate
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY was always in the top tier from 1984-2000 along with 3 Major cup finals in the early 1990s & they qualified for Europe after finishing in 3rd place
They are still Yorkshires most successful football club
Even after 24 years of miss management they have great loyal fans At Hillsborough 💙👍👊
This phrase “where they belong” is way too widely used. If every team who “belongs” in the premiership was there, there’d be about 35 teams in the league.
It was the year before the Premier League, but I've always been fascinated by the fact that two of the teams who signed for its creation were Luton Town (who only debuted *this year*) and Notts County (who has yet to participate). Imagine signing for the formation of a League then either you wait 30 years to participate or you stil don't know what it feels like to join it
I agree mate! It's such an interesting history in England!

Really enjoyed the video but at first I thought it was teams that have been relegated and never returned to the the PL like Bradford, Swindon, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry and Portsmouth (also other teams you didn't mention) whereas the other teams Birmingham, Sunderland, Bolton, Derby & Charlton have been relegated and been back up at least once.
Not a problem mate, for the next one I can adjust the title!
Thanks for the feedback, make sure to subscribe! :)
Thanks mate, Yeh already subscribed. 👍
@@BrettWhittington-xj9kn legend mate! Massively appreciated!
Bolton are still in league 1 as they lost playoff.
Yeah was a mistake on my part :)
An interesting one to look at is teams that were in division one, but never the premier league. Along with that division one winners never in the premier league.
Oldham, Barnsley, Blackpool.
I forgot about Swindon. For a while they were a quality side under Hoddle.
Coventry are distinguished by one of the longest continuous stints in the top flight before they were relegated. I think maybe only Everton and Arsenal have out-stinted them.
Arsenal (1919), Everton (1954) and Liverpool (1962). Man Utd are next but their stint began in 1975.
Yeah alot still need me toning foe the next video!
Thank you for the feedback mate, make sure to subscribe! :)
I keep hoping Everton go down but they never do,jammy b@stards!
Sheffield Wednesday will be back soon, just you wait 😈😈
As a Forest fan im relived this wasn't made 3 years ago
Great vid, and hopefully there will be one for the 10 biggest clubs in the English league system (sorry Old Firm!) to have never played in the Prem.
Absolutely! Thank you mate! :)
Charlton Athletic are very much an EFL League One mid-table club who don't really look like gaining promotion anytime soon.
Coventry City on the other hand have finished in the top half of the EFL Championship in most of the season's since gaining promotion from League One.
On at least two occasions have finished in a playoff Slot but with no more success so far.
Like Sunderland I feel like Coventry City will eventually get their just reward for all their hard effort.
Mark Robins is doing a brilliant job as their manager and deserves a lot of credit
Robins has been loyal to Coventry and has guided them on some very good Cup runs the Sky Blues need to be careful that another major Championship club doesn't poach Robins.
Season 2024/2025 could possibly be Coventry's year, after all Ipswich Town were able to go up last season.
or when Fernando Torres was trying to scratch his way out of Liverpool. Or when Luis Suarez was trying to bite his way out of Liverpool. Or when Luis Suarez was trying to racially slur his way out of Liverpool
For a great many years Sheffield Wednesday were the biggest club in their city, with a proud history but not so much these days.
Unfortunately they currently have a BAD owner, a Thai businessman who REFUSES to sell the club to anyone else or more worthy.
He sacks good managers for no apparent reason.
Until he is gone then I am afraid that the Owls ambitions will remain very limited.
We'll be back 🐏
Swindon are in much the same sort of boat as Bradford in that I don't really see them challenging for a place in the EFL Championship, let alone the Premier League anytime soon.
Liked, for THE ALGORITHM
Unsubscribing lad
Chsrlton didnt fonsih 16th in league one in 1991, we was in what is now the championship. This seasons finish was actually our worst in 99 years....
I don't really see Birmingham City or Bradford City returning to the top flight before the end of this decade.
Charlton weren't in league one in 1991 they were in the second tier as they'd just been relegated from the top flight
You missed out Barnsley!
There is a part 2 which went up yesterday mate! :)
Make sure to give it a watch and subscribe!
Not everyone enjoys playing in the Premier league and enjoy the competitive nature of the EFL. No money No Var More emotion proper fans
55 points to keep Pompey up is all that matters this season. ⭐️🌙
Where's Oldham?
Most seasons in the top flight without winning it,Bolton by a mile.
How can you not mention Wimbledon?
I'll make sure they're on the next list
The original club died. Two new clubs can’t claim the history having new names.
In my opinion, AFC Wimbledon are the club that inherited the original Wimbledon's heritage!!
@AndyKirtland11 How can MK Dons claim any heritage from the original Wimbledon when they are not from London but from Milton Keynes !!
Oldham Athletic are the first Premier League club to play in non league.
Can't use all the best ones in the first video haha
Thank you for the feedback mate! Make sure to subscribe!
Hopefully Wigan will be the 2nd.
Barnsley not on there
Hi mate, I did a part 2 of this :)
Pompey had a fantastic side under Harry Redknapp and Gordon Strachan.
Back up in the EFL Championship they will be looking to do the same as Derby County and consolidate their place.
Gordon Strachan ?
This video seems a bit random to me. Unless you have a sugar daddy getting back up is difficult. Lots of these teams have been back up and down. Money is the primary driver these days.
Yeah I was going for the "big names" for alot of them if that makes sense, I have plenty for the next one! :)
Thank you though for the feedback mate, make sure to subscribe!
and never want to return. The prem is full of shit
Your missed out Oldham
Bolton are not in the championship lad
Yeah made a mistake and didn't notice until afterwards 😂
You also missed out Reading, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, Middlesbrough and Hull City.
They were originally on the list but got bumped last second for Sheffield Wednesday haha
Thanks for the feedback mate!
Also Oldham, theyve since dropped into non-league
Oldham Athletic?
Pathetic leaving Oldham out, especially as you make a big thing of Swindon "almost" dropping into the National League.
A team for the next one :)
Chill out lad🤣
Yeah Oldham and Wigan athletic
I did a part 2 on the channel and they're mentioned in it! :)
@@GoodSportReviews ahhhhh perfect I'll give that a watch now.
Thanks. Great vids 👌
@@seanporter5867 thank you! Make sure to subscribe for more if you haven't already :)
The video makes no sense with YoYo clubs like Sunderland mentioned. Clearly Sunderland have been in and out of the Premiership, as have Bolton. Pure clubs like Bradford, Oldham and the mighty glorious AFC Wimbledon are clubs who have been relegated and never returned. You’d never guess I’m a Wimbledon fan ;-)
Wimbledon just missed out haha I'm going to do another depending how this one does :)
Thank you for feedback mate! Make sure to subscribe :)
@@GoodSportReviews just don’t call Franchise FC Wimbledon ;-)
No Oldham or Barnsley?
Err, sorry to be pedantic, but it's not a Tyneside derby. Sunderland is not on Tyneside. I won't tell the you the popular name of the derby. Consider it a lesson in doing your research before making a monetized video. Naughty chap.
It is the tynewear Derby but was a mistake of words haha I wish I was monetised 😂
@@GoodSportReviews So do I, Sir. Otherwise a good video!
Calling it now. Portsmouth will be in the premier league this time next year.
Quite possibly mate! Make sure to subscribe! :)
Na Plymouth argyle will be in the premier League for the first time. I got a weird feeling
Portsmouth in the premier league next season ha ha biggest load of bollocks ive heard in a long time.😅
What with Rooney in charge? 😂
Maybe in 3-5 years but this season? Nah
Sunderland have obviously managed to return to the EFL Championship from League One but have fallen away a little and are currently looking like a mid-table Championship side which is where I see them finishing at the end of season 2024/2025.
But while they are there I don't really see them going down and if they are able to find themselves a good inspirational manager then it's possible that they might still return to the Premier League.
Quick question, who does everyone think are the biggest side to ever be relegated- Villa, Newcastle and West ham are the ones that pop into the mind first
I'd argue Leicesters relegation 2 seasons ago was quite big :)
@@GoodSportReviews Agree, but the actuall size of the club aint very big
Derby County have only just returned to the EFL Championship after a couple of seasons in League One.
They will hopefully be looking to consolidate and finish somewhere round about mid-table in their first season back.
Probably be at least another couple of seasons before they are challenging for a place in the Premier League again.
@Good Sport Reviews
I can't believe you missed Oldham Athletic. They've gone from an original Premier League team to a National League team!!!
4:33 no...they bottled the play-offs to oxford united XD
Yeah was a mistake on my part 😂
@@GoodSportReviews Its ok. we all goof up from time to time. I didn't mean to be rude.
@MaxPartridge-lt2tc not at all mate! It's constructive and helps make the videos better! I appreciate the feedback :)

@@GoodSportReviews Will do lad :)
Would agree with you that Coventry have a good chance of returning to the Premier League in the near future, they took my lads to a penalty shoot-out in the FA Cup semi-final in April and have a good manager in Mark Robins.
What about Oldham ? A total car crash now in non league, Joe Royale kept them up for a couple of seasons before oblivion
Shame were not mentioned, although give it 3 months and we wont even exist. Sad times
I'll make sure to add you on the next list!
Make sure to subscribe mate :)
@@GoodSportReviews Already have
QPR
Not going to mention blackburn, been out a while and actually won the trophy?
I was waiting for Rovers to be the last team on the list as they won the league… but we got pompy head in hand moment…
Plymouth argyle to get promoted next season im calling it
You do realise Rooney's in charge? 😂
With Rooney at the helm 😂 maybe get Steve Cooper in then call it
I mean I don't agree with Plymouth being in the Prem next season, but I will agree with you on the Plymouth not being Championship part
What! with Rooney in charge, i doubt it , he's not very good as a manager 🤔🫢🫣
Nice work on the video.
Thank you mate!
Make sure to subscribe! :)
Birmingham in good hands. If we got relegated a few seasons ago it would have been fatal
Middlesbrough should deffo appear
For the next list mate! :)
Thank you for the feedback make sure to subscribe!
irrelevant
Where are Oldham?
Another team for the next list :)
Thanks for the question mate, make sure to subscribe!
Especially has he mentioned Swindon "almost" dropping into the National League
Tyneside derbies? Sunderland are from Wearside.
Sick of just PL facts. Start at 1888 -89
4:33 This is wrong, Bolton lost the playoff
Most of these teams are yo yo.Blackpool and Huddersfield 2 more
Great shouts mate! Especially Blackpool after the 10/11 season!
Make sure to subscribe :)
I miss Portsmouth. Hope they return soon
Better than Bournemouth and Southampton at any rate ...🤔
@@wolfmauler Blashpemy
Barnsley and Oldham are two more
Absolutely mate! There are some great teams who need a mention in the next one!
Make sure to subscribe! :)
by definition every team that has ever been in the premier league but isn't in it currently could be on this list. luton havent been in the premier league since they were last relegated from it (2 weeks ago)
