I 100% agree with what you said about The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I was a little disappointed at first that Snow is the only protagonist, but Suzanne Collins has mostly always delivered for me. Her using Snow is a deliberate choice, he'll probably be very different and we'll see the path that leads him to become who he was in the original trilogy.
I saw Heartstopper on the thumbnail and just had to scream for a moment! If you enjoy it I’d also recommend Alice’s other books!! Mainly Radio Silence, which is how I discovered her back in August. It follows Aled, N&C’s friend! And N&C make an appearance in it! I’m just so happy her books are becoming more widely known

Chain of Gold and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes - I know I'll love these books no matter what. The Lost Book of the White is the one I'm most excited about. I very much want to hear what happened to Ragnor. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a standalone, as far as I'm aware, not the first installment of a new series.
