Christmas time is our favorite time to stay at the Grand. There is a floor to ceiling Christmas Tree and Santa photos on a craftsman style chair at the base.
@@aimeeyork6319 yes it will be. Santa is there mid afternoon and again in the evening. Not sure how it will work depending on masks and distancing by then.
YES!!! and the enormous gingerbread house that even the big bad would not want to blow down. I can still smell the gingerbread and icing, it was as fun to watch it go up as it was to see it when it was complete!

@@aimeeyork6319 I believe they spend about a week taking down Halloween and putting up Christmas at the same time, so November 7th or 8th is what has been normal. Obviously this year who knows but Disney likes to stick to their routines.
I'm hunkering down to watch this right now and I'm SO excited ❣I've been saving up forever, so we're going to stay there for 4 nights during our 1st family Disney vacation, so I'm loving all things Disneyland hotels❣💛💙❣
You won’t be disappointed! We did a 4 night stay when I retired in 2016 with a room over looking DTD right above the Starbucks and the entire experience was top notch. The original DL hotel is very nice too. We live in AZ so have fortunately gotten out to DL many times but always had my eye on the GCH and finally staying there with my family was wonderful. Enjoy!
OOOoh man, this video was tooooooo short. I want to see what you all ate. I want to see the big slide. I want to see the observation deck for future fireworks shows....I want to see what became of White Water Snacks. Thank you for sharing some of your vacation with us. You guys are sweet for sharing.
I love the fifth floor patio. It's also an amazing view at night with the pools glowing and the outline of Cars Land in the skyline beyond the hotel. You can also get a great view of the Christmas tree from up there during the holiday season. The courtyard is also a favorite place. For the times I've visited, I had the places to myself. They are amazing areas for those like me who need occasional space and alone time.
Such a great tour Chris, thank you! Grand Californian has some great memories for me… one fond one is going to the Fireplace Lounge and hearing Disney Campfire stories as a youngster. That smell in the lobby is one of the best smells too!
It's so cool to watch this video as my mother actually works in that hotel, though my personal favorite parts are the upper levels, as I've surprisingly never been on any other floors in the literal 10 years I've been going to Disneyland

I love this video! I used to work in Downtown Disney and walk through the Grand everyday. I moved out of state last year so watching this brought back alot of memories.

Love this hotel! Just got married at Disneyland a couple weeks ago, & we stayed at the Grand Californian! Had such a blast with our family & friends! Nothing better than at the end of a long day at Disneyland or DCA, to walk straight into your hotel fresh off a trip down the Grizzly River Run Rapids! It was 90 degrees when we went so the was AMAZING!
I loved staying here with my family. Especially when they were younger. Thee best resort to stay at on the Disney properties. A bit pricey but well worth it. U feel pampered there. Chris thank you for saying the Grand Californian Hotel. 🤣🤣👍🏽👍🏽 man, seeing Miles when he was that small takes me back to when i first started watching the channel. Thank you for all u do and sharing your family and ur love of Disneyland for us. I think we are pretty equal in that area. 🙂👍🏽

my parents just told me and my siblings we are going in 3 weeks I've never been to Disney land we have been to Disney world, they also told us we are staying in that hotel. now I'm super exited
The Hotel is wonderful and worth the stay. Concierge level was absolutely amazing. The decor is nice, the outside fireplace is nice and the location cannot be beat!!
Congratulations on your 100K subscribers - love all your videos. The lobby of the Grand Californian is a great place to hang out / nap briefly on a hot day or after you’ve checked out and don’t need to leave to the airport yet! (Been there done that)
There's also the Paradise Viewpoint the 6th floor where you can overlook the pier and watch World of Color when it's going. Also every room has a channel to listen to World of Color if your room has a view of it.
1st off Love ❤ Disney and your channel. We have been to the hotel multiple times Throughout the years. Love Storyteller's restaurant more so in the very beginning but it has gone through several incarnations. It has always been our go to restaurant when we visit the parks. The cast members and servers are par excellent. I have received better customer service there than I have Experienced in Club 33. And minus the attitude which is greatly appreciated and refreshing. We agreed the hotel is beautiful without a doubt, especially during the seasonal layovers. No one does it "Better" than the "Mouse". But we do disagree on one point, I cannot put my thumb on it but Disney never really Succeeds or hit it out of the ballpark with the actual hotel room. There is an element or component that is missing whether it's with aesthetics, appointments or comfort ? I get it it's just a place to sleep and shower for some? Disney wants you out in the park spending money we're not naive but at the end of the day I still as an adult or even younger family members enjoy and appreciate refuge in a nicely comfortable adequately Hotel room with upscale appurtenances . They need to take it up a notch or 2, It's Disney they do it in all other areas, why not with the hotels ??? For example doing your vlog you were showcasing the separation between the beds the pseudo night stand. The room looked used and abused. The phone appeared as if it was not clean and banged up the edge on the wall look like it was dirty or dusty. It simply looked not clean and it doesn't reflect the cleanliness and standards of a 5 star hotel which I believe they claim it to be. At the premium price points Disney commands for some of their hotel properties we expect more to justify those high prices $$$$$ For one example we would love to stay on property in Disney World but we really do not, we prefer to go stay at the "Four Seasons" Guests appreciate and respect consistency and standards.

I was so lucky to get an incredible deal through Get Away Today and stayed here for the start of the 2019 Oogie Boogie Bash, can’t beat walking straight into DCA! Such an incredible video guys… so many things I wasn’t aware of!!!

I stayed @ the Disneyland Hotel (Dream Tower) in 2008. Before the name change. Yes! Treat yourself. Even If it's once in a lifetime. Had breakfast with GoOfy as well. Still even have the collector button as well. Love the "Miles Moments" Today is national chocolate chip cookie day! Tomorrow is Ntl. oyster day. I'm sooo frying up me some oysters after work.

The Grand Californian is my favorite hotel at Disneyland! I’ve never had a bad time there and it has the best beds!! Regarding Storytellers Cafe, you can see the characters for breakfast only. You didn’t specify this so I thought I’d bring it up. I love the Napa Rose! It definitely is one of the nicest restaurants at Disney Parks. The chef and staff are so great. On my list is to try the concierge level room. My favorite place to take a break without actually returning to my room is the fireplace in the lobby. Such a cozy place to relax and cool down. The AC’s in the Grand are no joke!

Bright yellow Hawian shirt? 🤣 Anyway, we have just finished staying at the 3 resortd and the Grand Californian has completely ruined me. The only bad thing I found are the beds. They are so comfy, that it makes it hard to get out of bed in time for rope drop. Come on 200k!!!
Chris, Amanda,... as usual great video. I always loved walking through, around, and hanging around with my Daughter when She was little. What a great place. Here's an idea... Talk with the hotel and find out when if there is a slow period for the hotel, and get together with Disney and Getaway Today, and how about having a 'Park Pass" stay for all of us to get together for a family stay for a few days? Just to relax and chill with each other, in and around the hotel.... Just a thought,.. "Uncle Martin"

You guys are so lucky! This is a gorgeous place to stay. I was sold on the pool menu/service. It’s a bit tough for DVC peeps to stay here if trying to book more than 7 months out. Lucky you!! ☺️ Congrats again for 100K!!!
Video idea! Best ways to get to Disneyland from the airport. Disney World has Magical Express (until 2022). But Disneyland doesn't have anything like that. I've heard of shuttles and a bus that go that direction. It would be great to get details for us out of towners.
We stayed ar Grand Californian and it is SO convenient to everywhere, as you said. However, their price is almost prohibitively EXPENSIVE! Maybe there is a way to get discount prices, but we paid over $700 per night! A great one-time splurge but we are not bloody likely to repeat it even if it would save us a 12 minute walk to the park!
Fun fact: The hotel used to have bunk beds in some of the rooms, they used to be my favorite and I always slept on the top, one year I came back and they were all gone, I was devastated. My mom ended up telling me the reason they were gone was because little kids got injured falling off and the parents sued the hotel
The fitness center also has a water bottle refill station. Perfect for filling your bottle with filtered water before going into the parks.

My favorite is the Chip and Dale in the orange orchard print in each bathroom.
The Hotel is wonderful and worth the stay. Concierge level was absolutely amazing. The decor is nice, the outside fireplace is nice and the location cannot be beat!!
All of the decorative wood in the Hearthstone bar area is from one tree. We learned this taking the free hotel tour back in 2019.
Another detail about the lobby floor/rugs is that the flowers are open where the sun hits the floor directly and closed where it does not 😉
Ok Chris, how did you miss the Mickey Ears on the step stool in the bathroom. I have always wanted to stay a DGH, but just can’t afford that.

We stayed ar Grand Californian and it is SO convenient to everywhere, as you said. However, their price is almost prohibitively EXPENSIVE! Maybe there is a way to get discount prices, but we paid over $700 per night! A great one-time splurge but we are not bloody likely to repeat it even if it would save us a 12 minute walk to the park!
Walking 10 miles a day in the parks , I can't imagine anyone would have the energy to work out 😱

Fun fact:
The hotel used to have bunk beds in some of the rooms, they used to be my favorite and I always slept on the top, one year I came back and they were all gone, I was devastated. My mom ended up telling me the reason they were gone was because little kids got injured falling off and the parents sued the hotel

The Grand California Adventure Hotel is my favorite hotel in the Disneyland Resort and my favorite place is the hotel.
