Hi John. That car came from Ballinteer. I know it and the estate it came from. It will be great to see you do work on it and have it featured on the channel. I agree with you as well about respecting both sides of a political debate. Too few people do it these days unfortunately.

Nice to have the original reg. plates. The gearboxes are prone to oil leaks, around the selector and the inner halfshaft boot seal. Check the clutch cable as well, they were very prone to snapping. Renault did a recall and a different pedal ratchet was fitted, but it made the clutch pedal very heavy and they still snapped cables, just not as often. Honestly I would get the car running and see what's what before tearing it apart.

The 91 sticker gives annual access to all motorways in Switzerland, as also demonstrated by the “Schweiz” sticker on the rear window. 👍

Keep the content coming, the sticker is 1991 toll/driving on the French motorway

Wow I didn't realise. Thats pretty cool, I'm hoping to keep all stickers present, nice little history of the car.

I'm not sure if motorway vignette are a thing in France but the one here is a Swiss vignette 🙂

@@peakseamusYou are correct, Sir! France has NEVER had motorway “vignettes” (only registration vignettes, long since discontinued).

Looks like a great project John. I had one briefly as a company car back in 1989 a Renault UK demonstrator in blue. The 19s are rare here in the UK, but can't recall seeing a Chamade ever since. Good luck with the resurrection!! The 'yellow '91 sticker is a Swiss carnet that you need to purchase to use Swiss roads and valid for one year.

Hi John, just came across your Renault 19 video and best of luck getting her back to showroom condition. I also got a Renault 19 (the later facelift model) earlier this summer which needs a similar amount of work. I have the exact same problem with the door window seals and have been looking for something suitable for awhile so I'll try your recommendation on using the 3 door Corsa B seals as an alternative. Do you have the part code by any chance for them.

I'm going to risk doing one job at a time, started gearbox removal process yesterday, not rushing that but hoping I can work through each job as they crop up. It'll be a challenge
