    You are correct, better to have that water sheet off quickly to prevent spotting. Very important for the glass surfaces as the temps reach the summer highs. Thanks Victor for the concept discussion

      How to know which product does beading or sheeting? that point is left without consideration

    Thanks for pointing out that sheeting and hydrophilic are not really synonymous. Sheeting and beading really are two types of the same thing.

    I'm slowly getting on the sheeting train! My car holds beads for days sometimes. Looks cool but the waterspots just suck.

    Good stuff. Beading is just sexier 😂. Both have their pros and cons. Both are good options.

    You can dry your car with a hose just as easily with a hydrophobic coating

  • @EileenTheCr0w
    @EileenTheCr0w ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It depends how hydrophobic the surface is, how much force is on the water and the angle of the car surface. If the hood is fairly flat, maybe sheeting is better, but if it's more curved or angled then beading likely wins.

    I absolutely hate beading products. I don't understand why every company insists on every product beading. My car is super well maintained and Coated. One rain shower per day here in South Florida and my car is absolutely trashed. I'm absolutely sick of detailing my car to have it clean for less than 48 hours. I'm about to order a bottle of LS-10. I've only found one spray product that sheets but it's $41 shipped for 16Oz. Too expensive to use after every weekly wash for me.

    I remember many years ago when an American company launched a product on QVC UK that sheeted water off rather than beaded it with all the evidence to prove how beading could leave water marks on the paint and even burn the paint by slight magnification through the water and I've been sold on sheeting since .... Having said that beading wins hand down for looks after a rain shower and works as long as your driving the car after it and not allowing it to dry on the paintwork

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As far as Dr. Beasley's go, Nano-Resin, Nano-Resin MX and Nano LS-10 are all sheeting coatings.

  • @liamneale1831
    @liamneale1831 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When it rains, it’s still going to bead up on the car wether you have a beading or sheeting product on the paint.

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very true. Ultimately a lot of it comes down to how much water is hitting the surface and how much force is behind it.

    What Beasley product produces sheeting on matte paint surface?

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matte Paint Coating sheets very well - it's similar to Formula 1201 in its hydrophobic properties.

    Good video. I finally got the time to detail a used car I recently purchased with NSP 150 and then NSP Z1. We got our first rain last night and noticed it was beading like crazy. What do I need to apply to the car to get the sheeting?

    • @DrBeasleys

    Sheeting coatings are harder to dry. Plus you can’t blow dry the car as easy and I’ve never seen a sprinkler or rain storm produce enough water to sheet off the paint.

  • @chrisginoc

    What causes a hood to be more beading than sheeting? Is it the individual installing the ceramic and product used or perhaps a different product being used?

    • @64devil

      Maybe Bread the sides of car and sheet the top of car

    • @DrBeasleys

      It comes down to the product being used. Some coatings are formulated specifically to produce a sheeting effect.

    • @DrBeasleys
      @DrBeasleys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paint Hero is a beader! Though keep in mind it's not so much a drying aid as it is a drying protectant. It's there to lubricate your towel when going over sensitive areas that can't be dried with a blower or compressed air.
