I’m literally going through the same thing as well. It’s been one year since my 5 year relationship came to an end. It was really ugly and traumatizing, so these have been my feelings and thoughts. I couldn’t have said it better myself. It gives me something to look forward to. Being happy on my own and seeing what positive things comes into my life🥹

Ring shopping is so fun!!! I got engaged recently and I debated moissanite due to the price but when you compare it to diamonds you'll see the difference in appearance. It's still beautiful, but I went with a diamond for less of a rainbow sparkle and more of a crushed ice/typical diamond sparkle. The two stones definitely look different, some people prefer the look of moissanite over diamonds and vise versa!

is it normal in the US to spend 20-40K for a ring? :D in Europe everone is shocked if you get a 3K ring :D
I am a jeweler any reputable jeweler will be immediately able to tell the difference between a moissanite and diamond. We can not tell the difference between lab and mined. I’m a GIA certified Diamond graduate and have been in the business for 10 years. A 3 carat lab should cost about 6 thousand. Nothing more. The chain stores mark them up about 12X.
I sell all three. But moissanite do not look like diamonds. I’d be more than happy to help you guys.

My husband got me a moissanite engagement ring years ago when we got engaged. I picked it out. It's beautiful and everyone thinks it's a diamond until I tell them. We saved a ton of money by getting that vs a diamond!
The point is lab grown are also more ethical. That was the first reason for making them in the lab.

It's soooo important to look around and do your homework for diamonds. My fiancé did so much work and honestly studied everything he could about diamonds so that he was able to have a high level conversation about the rings we were looking at. My ring is a three stone 3.2 carat ring on 19ct white gold. Very high quality lab grown diamond. He bought it for $10,000. He developed such a good relationship with the salesman that the salesman even upgraded the quality of the diamond for free. I'm not as educated on the matter, but honestly if we were to buy this ring at Tiffany's or a big named store it would be upward of $80,000-$100,000 (and that's Canadian). So I highly recommend to anyone, don't look at the big box stores. See where THEY buy their diamonds from, and look at smaller jewelers. Also yes lab diamonds are way cheaper, they ARE diamonds just not grown from the earth. Also make sure, anywhere you go, that they give you a certificate authenticating the diamonds. Lol that's my TED talk.

My husband proposed with an emerald cut lab diamond, and it was stolen! It took over a year to get the insurance money back, and it freaked me out! Now we will never purchase another Diamond. One of my good friends was proposed to with an emerald cut moissanite and it’s *gorgeous*. Now, I’m getting a moissanite as a replacement!
Fun facts: Moissanite is the world’s sparkliest gemstone! Diamonds are slightly harder than moissanite, but more likely to chip because of the cleavage in the gem. Also, diamonds can be ruined in a house fire. Moissanites are tougher due to the structure of the gem’s molecules and far more heat resistant, so they’d survive a fire!
As a Christian, my husband and I say that moissanite has 1. Rainbow sparkle, reminding us of God’s promise 🌈 2. More heat resistant, and more “tough”, no explanation needed, marriage needs these things! 3. More frugal, so you get a beautiful gem/ring while still being financially modest. Love it!
