The "fake ring" idea is genious! This way the proposal will be kept a surprise but at the same time the bride-to-be will have the chance to choose/customise her real forever ring.

This is why my husband and I designed my ring and then he got it and proposed we did a lab gown dimond and my birth stones. I do wish maybe I tried on styles and got an idea we made our idea online at the online store and went in got the ring.

Very nice! No no there's nothing wrong with that, it's just in my experience allot of men will kind of go "crazy" with symbolism and try to fit as many symbols and colors and elements inside of a single ring and it can start to become a little too much
@Dominique Flux hehe yes I understand. I was just so shocked when I heard infinity sign mentioned and maybe for a moment felt my ring wasn't original and unique 🤣 but its ok. Hardly anybody I've come across has one similar and I get tons of compliments and I love that my husband picked out something on his own that I actually liked. My engagement ring cost £145 pounds and i am super happy with it!! I would be heartbroken if my man ever spent more on a ring because to me the ring isnt important
Honestly these days the idea "not settling" and arranging for a payment plan when a single ring is out of budget just doesn't sit right with me. I'd rather save money for a memorable honeymoon. Weddings are so expensive
if the couple decides ahead of time to plan the ring together then great...however at least personally i think that if they agree that the man will surprise her then it's a representation of love from the man for the woman (or of course any sex or gender) so if she decides to change the ring it's a question of do you want to change the foundation of that moment and meaning 🙈🤔

I never understood the idea of borrowing or doing installment on engagement ring. My fiance had his credit line / loan increased for an engagement ring. It was a heated debate because I kept saying let's work on the current budget and not get a loan. In the end, he gave me a budget to work on. Fiance: Remember, the price of the engagement ring should hurt me. That's my investment to you. Me: Then why is it that I am the one that's being hurt with how expensive it is? P.S. I just chuck it up to cultural thing?

I would not recommend taking a loan. I break payments up for clients over a longer period of time so it's easier but a loan sounds a little bit scary
