This is one of the best comparison reviews I've seen about the Ace Pro 2 on YT so far. The Ace Pro 2 is clearly the superior camera, IMO. I hope this camera becomes available for sale someday.
I am very grateful that you finally got your hands on this camera because I cannot trust other reviews of this camera. They were all gifted. Would like to see this camera put up against the pocket 3 for low light to me. That is a video that I cannot find anywhere except for the fake ones. You recently did a video on the connectivity of the DJI mic too with the other devices. I would like to see one on this one as well and to confirm that you cannot connect to DJI Mike tears with the camera through the Bluetooth. Really appreciate your videos and your format. You're very thorough and I like that you break things up into the chapter so I can find the spot that I need to find. Take care and thanks for getting the camera. If you find anything wrong with the camera let me know. I did notice at the first generation has a focusing issue. The second generation. It is not as bad, but it is still a little tiny bit there. Maybe explore more of that focusing issue because if it is a vlogging camera it should be able to focus a lot closer
@@Emtbtoday if you don't have any DJI action cameras, the action for would be a good bargain. It pairs with the DJI mic too. You can use it very well with the DJI osmo pocket. 3. I think that's a good combo to go with. If you want to have faith in the firmware updates. The DJI action 5 Pro is a good bet. I'm hoping that it gets better over time. Not a fan of the lens. Flare I know that it's probably due to the coating they put on the lens for low light. Can't fix it with a firmware update. That's the only problem if you don't like lens flare at all the DJI action. 3. Has little to no lens flare because it is not a low light camera. However, it cannot pair wirelessly with a DJI mic 2 via Bluetooth and it also breaks your scenes up into chapters, which I don't like. Other than that, it's a great camera and if you plug anything into the USB you can use a wireless mic that way, but it's no longer waterproof so that's why I recommend the DJI action. 4. It suffers less lens flare than the action. 5 Pro. However it it's a good compromise on on it and you can also put it in d-log m and color graded later
ack, that lens flare is a serious deterrent for me. i am not a fan of flare. i actually chose the ace pro over other options because of the slightly narrower FOV, so i consider the wider FOV to be a major downgrade. but with so many other upgrades i think i will still get an AP2 to add to my kit. to me the best feature is the clarity zoom, and i shoot with that on more than off. but i dont shoot the way most people do. great video, subbed.
Great review. It looks like a great upgrade from my GoPro Hero 11 (which is very similar to the Hero 13). You said at about 14:30 that you cannot connect a USB microphone. I have seen demonstrated on a few other channels that you can. For example, you could plug in the receiver for the DJI Mic 2 into the USB port and connect to the transmitter which gives you better audio quality than connecting the transmitter direct to the camera via Bluetooth. There are a few other microphones where this works too. I believe this was added in the last firmware update. I presume that the reason that the audio socket is not on the camera is to make it waterproof. One other thing that you can do is record from the built in microphone and a Bluetooth microphone on to different audio tracks at the same time then change the mix in the app or Insta360 Studio afterwards. This enables you, for example, to mount the camera on the roof of a car or motorbike and record the ambient engine sound (while the wind noise is filtered by the wind guard) and record a commentary from a Bluetooth microphone. I just hope that they sort out their stock problems as it doesn't seem possible to buy one at the moment.
Can you make a video about the defect and recall of the insta360 Ace Pro 2? Very few people are making a video about it even though people who ordered the Ace Pro 2 on Oct 22 from Insta360 still haven’t received their cameras, including me.
Image quality is definitely improved in all lighting conditions on the AP2. Colour saturation on the AP2 is much improved from a viewer perspective, but only you will know how close to reality the colours actually are. Not so convinced about the audio. The gain is marginal inside but outside it's improved...but I'd still opt for a DJI Mic 2!
FYI, I actually had to reduce the relative volume for the AP2. Also, as good as the DJI Mic 2 is, paired to an Insta360 camera it’s just another BT mic.
@ttl_channel that's a really interesting comment. I'm looking forward to the next round of reviews now! I'm wondering if Insta have finally fixed the pairing issues...not holding my breath. I do like the fact that the A5P will pair to two Mic 2 units...useful. Super video as always BTW.
Dear ? Thank you very much for the honest and very clear explanation regarding the Ace pro 2. I am waiting for this camera to be offered on the market, currently not available anywhere. After having had several DJI action cameras 3/4/5/ the DJ I bought it immediately when it was available on the market, and returned it after 2 days of testing, the images were woollier than in the DJI 4. I also had the DJI pocket 3, it was great, but too sensitive as an action camera, so now on to the Ace Pro 2. Hopefully in November 2024.
Thanks for the video. It seems that the new ace pro 2 is facing more jitter issues in low light versus the ace pro. Also the color is a question....which camera is more close to the real colors what you see with your eyes? Seems the older ace pro is more correct in its colors?
What would you recommend this or the dji action 5 pro? I keep hearing it's now not compatible with android since Google updated their security in playstore and found it to be harmful and security issue but dji do have a direct APK download but doesn't work on android now? Can you shed a little info on this please you just don't know what to believe and not wanting a paperweight if go buy on today and doesn't connect to my Samsung s24 ultra! Much appreciated.
I’ve had to wait too many times in the past ordering direct, so I normally wait until the US-based stores have it. They are in and out of stock, but got mine at Best Buy. Adorama also had it in stock earlier today : adorama.rfvk.net/EEb6KQ
So in my opinion it should be mentioned that Insta360 has taken the camera off the market again. Of course not officially, but there was an email to the so-called supporters which said ''Just talking about the fact that the demand was so great and the camera is sold out''. Many people have problems with lens fogging, overheating and freezing. The Acepro2 also has problems delivering the high bit rate. In most settings this is below 100... Unfortunately, there are a lot of problems that the new Action 5 from DJI also brings with it... it's a shame. The Hero13 isn't the best... but the end result is the best.
Thank you very much, that was the best comparison video that I've seen so far. Would be very interested if the clarity zoom has improved, too. If yes I'll purchase the AP2. Take care and stay safe
Great job on this video, and I just subbed your channel! I might have to use your rewind to show the differences in audio quality in some of my future comparisons. I really liked that touch. I bought the AP2 and the DJI A5 because I really couldn't come to a conclusion which one I should buy as an upgrade to my Hero10 so I thought I'd do my own comparisons. I've had them about a week and there's no clear winner yet, although I'm leaning AP2. The biggest disappointment was the way it handled the Halloween lights in my low light tests (latest video shows that), but the fact that they are able to even get usable footage in that low of light is a game changer. Image that technology on a 1" sensor or even higher.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions- I will definitely be following up on some of these.
Casey from conspiracy cameras just put me off all them! I'm looking for one just now but his reviews just killed the market lol

Love the Review !!
Thank you!
Thanks for such an honest, in-depth , non-schill, review.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Subscribed man, great video
Thanks for the sub!

I believe if usb mic doesn't have ADC then it won't work. That's why you need to use usb c adapter. It has built in ADC(analog to digital converter).
Thanks for the info - will need to post an update!

Honestly, I’m not sure what the issue is. I managed to snag one from Best Buy when it was briefly in stock, and I’m not experiencing any issues.
A real review very nice
Glad you liked it
Thanks for doing a studio lighting test! I haven't been able to find anyone else who has done one.
Glad it was helpful!

Super video as always BTW.
you should test HDR OFF and HDR ON with 60 fps
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Good test. The Ap2 looks like they fixed close focus
Thanks for the input

AP2 out of stock and don’t know when will be available
Last time I checked, It’s in stock at Adorama: adorama.rfvk.net/EEb6KQ
The mic one AP2 doesn't sound as Tinny if you know what i mean?
Agreed.
Will you be doing any walking lowlight comparisons?
When I get to the city, yes.
@ttl_channel thank you that would be awesome
How did you get it? I ordered mine the day after the release and it haven’t been even shipped yet
I got mine from Best Buy. Also, it looks like it’s in stock at Adorama: adorama.rfvk.net/EEb6KQ
Yeah alot of places still show preorder
It is said that the AP2 having foggy lens issue and Insta360 temporary stops the delivery until they fix it. I am waiting here in Vietnam too.
Great review! By the way, you can het audio from USB C microphones on the Ace Pro 2, for example using the DJI Mic 2 or the Hollyland Lark M2
Thanks for the info - making an update as we speak.
Thanks for the video. It seems that the new ace pro 2 is facing more jitter issues in low light versus the ace pro. Also the color is a question....which camera is more close to the real colors what you see with your eyes? Seems the older ace pro is more correct in its colors?
are the ND filters that insta360 provide for the AP2 lens cover replacements or do they still fit over the lens cover?
Hmmm…actually looks like they just push on over the top of the lens guard…pretty lame!

Both are excellent cameras. Sorry, but I’m not an Android user, so can’t comment on that part.
I'm still waiting for mine. Paid for it 13 days ago. How long did you wait?

Interesting, but so far I am not experiencing any of these issues.

Thank you very much, that was the best comparison video that I've seen so far.
Would be very interested if the clarity zoom has improved, too. If yes I'll purchase the AP2.

I will have to check that out. Thanks for watching

Ace pro 2 more accurate color and depth of image quality.
Agreed. Thanks for watching
